• Basic Asian foods available (rice, kim chee).
• Soups are mediocre.

“Hometown Diner. Basic comfort foods. Healthy portions. Breakfast, lunch, & dinner meals available. Burgers to pork chops for lunch and dinner.”

• The owners are absolutely charming yet fully well informed and attentive.
• The location is not enticing. It is off Reservation Road in Marina, a rather drab road leading to Salinas out of MariNA I would say that once inside there is no reason to look out the windows.

“No, it is not particularly romantic, but there are booths and it is not unduly noisy. It is a comfortable place. Its' two assets are a man and wife team who greet and care for you with warmth and intent interest, and -- most important -- a chef who prepares really splendid food. I usually have the Australian Filet Mignon simply because it is always cooked to perfection and hard to find anywhere. It used to be called Pronto, but they changed it because that sounded like a fast food place. It is way more than a cut above that, and yet, for a good meal and for a pleasant atmosphere at it is my favorite restaurant in the Monterey area. ”
