• The food is wonderful and the staff is great.
• Service can be extremely slow.

“I really enjoy eating at this restaurant. Though I have never been turned away, I have run into the problem where we order and the food doesn't show up until an hour later. The friendly staff makes up for it and the food is wonderful.”

• Horrible service and too loud!

“Been there twice. Lunch took 45 minutes to get our food. After inquiring about the delay, was rudely rebuffed by waitperson. Food, surprisingly, was pretty good. Thought I would try again and went for bunch. Again, the service couldn't have been much worse and the musicians created a deafening noise making conversation nearly impossible. We were literally shouting at each other. I asked if the volume could be turned down and was told, simply, no. Will never never never go back.”

“I've been going to Gonsea for a few years now. The quality of the food has deteriorated and the last time I went I had some serious customer service problems. I ordered about $50 worth of take out. When I got home, two items were missing. I went back to Gonsea and the cashier told me I didn't order those items, I reminded her that we'd discussed the paper wrap chicken, so then she told me she didn't write them down so I didn't pay for them. I reminded her that we'd discussed the chicken when she was ringing up my bill and she had to recalculate my bill because she said she'd forgotten to put it on. I pulled out my receipt to show her. They calculate your bill on a 10-key and then ring up one total amount on the register - so you don't get an itemized bill. The end result was that she insisted I hadn't paid for the other two items and treated me as if I were trying to steal an order of paper wrap chicken from them. It was very embarrassing with several people watching while they were waiting for tables. And by the time I got home again (without anything) our meal was cold. I'll be going to Liu's from now on. Their food is better anyway.”

“We were staying the night in Eureka on vacation one night and was told by all the locals they had the best Seafood in town. However upon showing up on a Friday night they would not seat us. They kept saying 20 minutes. However we noticed larger party's that showed up after us kept getting seated. They put us on the backburner because they wanted to make more money than feed just 2 people. Horrible customer service! Stay away from this selfish place. Especially if its just you and your spouse.”

• Good convenient location to old town Eureka.
• Service was awful, staff including owner is apathetic about service problems.

“I am a local and have been to this restaurant twice. The food is okay but over priced. If you don't mind terrible service and have over an hour to spend waiting to be served your meal, you may not mind this restaurant. If not I would suggest almost any other restaurant in Eureka.”
