Melio'S Trattoria

- Great food, perfectly cooked!
- Plastic grapes on the table.
“Melio's is about as close as you can get to authentic Italian food made as they do in Italy. Whenever I visit family in Green Valley, Melio's is a must. The pasta is perfectly cooked and lacks the heavy, soupy sauces served in so many American/Italian restaurants. The veal is pounded thin and tender - as it should be. Even the simple sides of potato and spinach are perfectly cooked. I'm still salivating! The view can't be beat. The sun shines on the mountains spread out clearly in front of you.”

- Nothing positive.
- Very rude people, poor service, absolutely awful food and an uncomfortable atmosphere.
“We arrived for our reservation and informed the owner/hostess that we were here, and she stated that we were 10 minutes early. I ordered an Extra Dry Bombay Gibson, Up (martini with a cocktail onion instead of an olive). Our waitress brought a regular martini and I explained the difference and she returned it to the bar which was only 15 ft away. Instead of remaking the drink that now had a different flavor; the bartender simply held his fingers over the drink and asked if I would like him to remove the olive. Realizing at that point, his ignorance, I let it pass and just had him ad the onion. Not the end of the world but defiantly not professional. Our guests arrived and we ordered appetizers and wine. Shortly after that we ordered our dinner. Our dinner came untimely early while we were still eating our appetizers and delivered by a busboy, which stood at the end of the table interrupting our conversation by calling out who has the two veal Marsellas. We all agreed that both the food and the service was very poor and compounded by a lack of caring. However, the events that followed brought total disaster to our dinning experience at the Melios Trattoria.”

Overall Rating: 9

- Excellent special menu items, large and tasty marguerites.
- The bar area is a little loud, but people are having a good time.
“On weekends this is the well-kept secret in southern Arizona. The food is exceptional along with a very friendly chef and staff. Chef Arturo appears Friday thru Sunday to present his personalized specials which change every few weeks. We found the Chicken Parmesian, roast pork and his gumbo to be fantastic. The atmosphere is very casual and southwestern, and the restaurant is located right at the entrance to the Tubac shopping area. Most dinner entrees are in the $9 to $15 range. Sit near the kitchen to get personal attention from chef Arturo.”
