- Large variety of food.
- Lines at the cashier would back up and they would not open another register.
“A couple of my co workers and I go out to eat for lunch, we generally like to go to places that have buffet bars so as to speed up the time we have to eat and get back to office in time. There are not too many of these types of restaurants in Sylacuaga but Ryan's has become one of least favorite places to eat, mainly due to the food not being fresh. If the food is frozen or overcooked it is signs that the food has been left over from the day before and reheated or just plainly taken out of the freezer and placed out on the buffet bar. Some of the dishes would remain low or empty during our half hour stay. The service was slow and rarely did they come around and ask about drink refills or if we needed anything, usually it was about the time we were getting ready to leave, did they come to the table and ask.”

- The hot yeast rolls are wonderful, the food choices are great and the service is good.
- The vegetables are not seasoned and the baked sweet potatoes and white potatoes are not hot enough to melt butter.
“Usually, I am happy with our Ryan¿s here in Sylacauga. Today, my husband and I went there after church expecting a good meal. The service was fine, but I was very disappointed in the food. The tomatoes and other fresh vegetables on the salad bar were frozen. We could only get the few off the top which were thawed out. Even the shredded ham in the salad bar was frozen to the container. The dressing pan was almost empty, which I can understand but shortly before we left, I went for desert and it was still empty. The green peas and carrots looked and tasted as though they had just been heated up and served, no seasoning whatsoever. The steak was all cooked well done. I husband requested a piece which was not so well done and the person gave him a piece which was not supposed to be so well done. Well it was also very well done. The baked potatoes were not hot enough to melt better. I spent many, many years in the restaurant business and although on a much smaller basis than Ryan¿s, I do know how to serve a salad bar and buffet. The cobbler was good but when we went to put ice cream on it, there was only chocolate. Ever tried chocolate ice cream on apple cobbler? As I said, I normally enjoy my Ryan¿s experience but today was $21.00 wasted. My husband refuses to go there again. I understand that folks have off days, but so many of these things could have been easily rectified...”
