- The toilets are a great improvement. staff friendly but hot food took a long time to arrive.
- The new self service counters and the price.
“Very expensive for what we received. Recently become self service what a shame, we missed the interaction we use to have with the staff. The toilets are a great improvement.”

- Nice building.
- The food and staff.
“Lovely building but we had a dreadful experience, despite advertising the fact they are family friendly and they heat baby food, the waitress would not do it. (It was in a sealed shop bought jar) as she said it had meat in it, something I would think appropriate if there was no meat on the menu, but there was. Our food was cold too, so our baby was in good company. Not as advertised.”

“My waiter was amazing, could quite happily reel off information about the building and being a true Yorkian about York itself! As well as the food which was super?”

- Always guaranteed a good meal - feel like you've treated yourself
- service sometimes a little on the slow side but don't go with a time plan - just enjoy it and you won't be disappointed
“I have been to Betty's tea rooms half a dozen times and I have never been disappointed. My friends and I go to York twice a year - spring and Christmas but we only go to York to go to Betty's. Upsatairs is very open and bright and airy with large windows. A table seat gives a fantastic view over the hustle and bustle of the city. Downstairs is modelled on 'I think' it's the Queen Mary. It is all very dark wood panelling but an extremely cosy feel. The chips are to die for - as is their cinnamon toast. I always have a scrambled egg and bacon muffin which is served with a good dollop of homemade chutney.”
