- Food.
- Lacking a little ambiance.
“Overall it's got some funky atmosphere, little on the bare side of things. But the food was great (but then again most of the food is great in Madrid). Can't quite decide if I liked Madrid way too much.”

- Bad service, food much to overpriced.
“Be aware of the restaurant Taberna Real in Madrid at the corner of Plaza Isabel ii an Calle Arenal. We feel that they to take tourists for a ride. They offered us (three people) a selection of tapas which finally was a plate with slices of ham, 6 pieces of green asparagus and a plate with 15 gambas, 10 mussels and 4 crayfish. They charged us 140 euro for it.”

“The place is lit up like a nighttime baseball match with some wilted plants hanging from the walls and ceiling and that is called a "sunny patio" in the restaurants description. And this has to be the worst meal I have ever had in my life. Well worst few bites I got up paid the bill and left. Tasted like "rice-a-roni" out of a box Spanish rich flavor. Not to mention the fact they did not even try to cut the "baby carrots" that come out of the bag. The whole carrot just wedged into the rice with the rest of the frozen items peas muscles and chicken. Really a crime the food they put on the plate. Stay away is all I can tell you.”

Overall Rating: 2

- Dreadful food and appalling service from people who didn't care.
- Nuff said.
“I used to eat in the Oriented years ago. Excellent value and good food then but now. Awful. Ate there last week on a trip to Madrid. I was served fish which I'd suspect had been cooked the day before and microwave before being given to me. Vile. I ate three forkfuls and left the rest. The Waitress didn't bother to ask if there was a problem. Nobody seemed to care that we'd had a bad experience. Place was empty at a time it should have been full. Follow the examples of the locals and avoid the place!”
