• Staff is always on top of their game.
• Need better maintenance of the exteriors.

“We stayed for four nights and we had a wonderful time. The room was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the indoor pool every night that we were there. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. We were there to see the historical sites and we had a great time.”

“The hotel business center and the pool was a factor for me to use this hotel. Unfortunately, in the business center, the copier was out of ink and none was available. There were two computers but only was connected to a small printer and other one could not be connected!”

• No flat screen TVs.

“The check-in and check-out process was very easy which was made possible by the polite and efficient staff. The servers in the restaurant were also very attentive.”

• White comforters = clean comforters!
• A little run down and the room smelled kind of funky.

“Warm greetings by the front desk as I walked in. The rooms were nice, the room smelled kind of bad and the hotel could probably use a little upgrading. The towels and bedding all seemed clean. It's a great place for a business traveler. I've stayed here 3 times now and I'll likely return.”

• The bed was super comfy and the view was amazing!
• The room was a little old, melted iron spot on the carpet.

“It was a lovely experience. A smoking room with double beds was
requested and they quickly changed it to a non-smoking room with a king size bed.”

• I enjoyed the classic treatment of the 4 star hotel greeted with smile staffs excellent services.
• The only one complaint I would have is the bar charge too much for a watered down mixed drink.

“The hotel is in a good location but the access is a little confusing had to go to the red light then make a U turn to enter the hotel parking lot. Check in was a breeze greeted with a smile staff was helpful, my room was huge king suite it put a smile on my face. Very comfortable bathroom was just the right size and room itself was roomy the bed oh so soft best sleep had in a while, room service excellent. This place was just what I needed, just to be pampered so if your in need of a great relaxation this is a good start of a great weekend getaway highly recommend to others many thanks Richmond for a wonderful week!”

• I enjoyed the first class services. The room was wonderful with a king bed that was the softest bed ever enjoyed.
• Only disliked I have about this hotel is the high cost of a mixed drink and it was not even tasty, too watered down mixed drink.

“My experience with this hotel was exceptional, first class treatment. The staff was very friendly helpful anything you needed they had it for you right away. The room I stayed in was king executive very nice suite bathroom had room enough to enjoy a good hot bath and the bed was wonderful, dining area wonderful the menu did not have much of a choice the bar area was good the only complaint was the drinks I orders was tasteless more watered. My time at this hotel was excellent will go stay again when I travel up north again many thanks to the staff making my stay memorable.”

• It was an older facility, and one outside door by the stairs was not closing properly - unlocked.

• The Quite Zone 5th Floor was awesome. I loved the bed, the complimentary sleep and music CD. Fantastic!
• The poor quality food served in the overpriced $12.50 breakfast buffet. Eggs were wet. Bacon was undercooked. Hot cereal dried up. Food was cold.

“The Crowne Plaza was the best U.S stateside hotel I have stayed in. I loved the quiet or sleep zone 5th floor. Best night sleep after sleeping in Maui in 2002. I plan on coming back again.”

• The hotel staff was excellent and very helpful.
• The hallway was dark and dingy.

“We're from the West Coast, and I was taking my daughter to Richmond for college. I was thrilled that they also had a washer and dryer on the premises so we could wash my daughters sheets, etc. They also provide a room with a computer to check emails & print out tickets, another bonus.”

• I liked the fact the front desk was very friendly when I arrived.
• The room was not completely cleaned on the 2nd day of our stay. Housekeeping did not do a good job at all.

“I did not like this hotel at all. Everything needs to be updated. The room was very small. The staff was pretty friendly. The bedspread had stains on it. The bathroom was a good size.”

“This hotel was very accommodating. We were traveling with 3 teens and one child and had adjoining rooms. The rooms were fresh and the look was updated. All in all the hotel seemed very clean.”

• Manager called the room to see if everything was alright.
• Dated.

“Carpet in hall was wrinkled. Rooms were dated. Dust ruffles were dragging on floors. Hotel needs general freshening up.”

• The location was convenient and front desk staff was helpful.
• Mildew on tub. Housekeeper provided only decaf coffee after the first night.

“The hotel was conveniently located. There was mildew around the bathtub and there was a lot of noise from the next room since they were intended to be adjoining suites. The housekeeper only brought decaf coffee after the first night. The hotel itself was fine, but they need to get a better housekeeping staff.”

“As former Richmond residents, we've stayed at least 4 times and consistently found clean, well appointed rooms and a courteous staff. The location is very convenient, but not romantic. Best view is to the Altria grounds in rear, high floors; other views are of the parking lot and are uninspiring. For breakfast, be sure to drive down broad street and watch for the HOT sign to be lit on the Krispy-Kreme doughnut shop. (On your left from the hotel). An insider treat, nothing like the repackaged store version.”

• Nice chair, television worked, comfortable bed, whole lotto pillows, lots of towels and the water worked.
• The bathroom had odd, obvious repairs. The windows were huge and the traffic could be heard very easily.

“This motel works as a place to sleep and get ready for the next thing. I was up at 7 am, out the door and then back in at 10 pm. One night I got to use the pool. It was cool, but not the cleanest. The hot tub was mildly warm. The decor looked forced at times and verged on the attempted classy. The office staff was always extremely welcoming. I didn't get to the restaurant. Overall, it worked.”

• The hotel was old and in dire need of repair.

“Although the room was clean in appearance, the air was choking from prior smokers; making sleep impossible. The room was also situated above the reception hall, which was hosting a party, so all the noise filtered directly into the room. Finally, the hotel itself is old and in need of major repairs. I noticed several light bulbs not working, floor tiles cracked, and carpet stains. This hotel, in its current condition, is far from a three star. I actually checked out an hour after checking-in and moved to another hotel across town that was 10x better.”

• The hotel was clean, nicely decorated, and convenient to downtown.
• Small bathroom.

“This hotel was great and conveniently located near all of our designated sites to visit. It was very clean and nicely decorated. The staff was great and I enjoyed the peacefulness of the area. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. The only downside for me was the small bathroom. But that's just my personal preference.”

• Our bathroom tub had some mildew in the corners, otherwise clean and great.

• The staff was extremely friendly!
• We were next to a wedding party, but we got a new room. Not hotel's fault.

“We had never been to Richmond, but the location was VERY easy to find off of the interstate. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous; especially when we needed a new room after our first room was next to a wedding group. (It was loud, but not out of control. Just a family having a good time for a wedding.) The staff came up to our room to bring us our new room keys and show us to our new room. Very courteous, great location and a great value. I will definitely stay here again if I visit Richmond.”
