Bob from Nutley,NJ
“On local road with limited grounds. Suite was extra large.” Mar 18, 2009 by
John from Ridgefield,CT “The Pointe is a pleasant, clean, no frills hotel within a 10 minutes drive to Okemo. If you just want to stay there to have breakfast and ski, you will be satisfied. Many children enjoyed their inground pool.” Feb 20, 2008 by
Bob from Washingtonville, NY
“I would definitely go back. Rooms were attractive and in excellent shape.” Jan 30, 2008 by
Mark from White Plains, NY
“This hotel had an updated feel and the location was in close proximity to Okemo Mountain. The standard room included two comfortable queen beds and a gracious bureau. The buffet style breakfast was good but a bit pricey at $11.95 per person. Overall, this was a nice place to stay for the price. With the proximity to Okemo Mountain and the village of Ludlow easily compensating for whatever shortcomings in value the hotel may have had. It would be nice if the free wireless Internet service was extended to the rooms instead of just the hotel lobby.” Oct 21, 2007 by
Robin from Johnston, RI
“We would stay here again. It was worth the price we paid. The room was nice and the bed was quite comfortable.” Oct 7, 2007 by
Carolyn from Brighton, CO
“It was difficult to find the place because it goes by a different name on its exterior signs. Although the room decor was updated with a woodsy ski lodge decor, there was little attention to detail. (Tissue dispenser in the bathroom was empty, floor lamp was missing a light bulb.) Public spaces were not cozy or inviting.” Oct 7, 2007 by
Jim from Clarksville, IN
“Spectacular room. As with any hotel, don't ask the late night desk clerk for anything, she has bigger problems of her own. I asked about in room free Wi-Fi and she looked at me as if I expected too much and laughingly said I must pay for extra services. Undoubtedly she's in debt above her head yet looks down upon others that want anything more than a room for the money paid for staying there. I was lucky enough to get a room by the lobby so I did receive poor reception Wi-Fi in my room (free wireless access in lobby). Go to Rutland for breakfast and don't miss Dakin Farm up route 7 if you head towards Shelburne.” Sep 30, 2007 by
Phillip from Shelton, CT
“We had to call the hotel because we got lost on the way. The staff was very helpful In guiding us to their location. Once we arrived, we were greeted by the same, friendly staff that also provided us with a list of restaurants In the area. The facility was much nicer than we expected, especially for the price. I've paid almost twice the rate we got for a facility that wasn't half this nice. The entire facility was very clean and the room was Immaculate - very nicely furnished and had an HDTV In the room, as well! Clean, comfortable and quiet - with a very accommodating staff. What more could you want? We will definitely plan to stay at this hotel again when visiting Vermont/new Hampshire again! I highly recommend them.” Aug 26, 2007 by
Judy D. from Orlando, DE
“The signage for this hotel is terrible. It is not the Clarion Hotel, which made it confusing & difficult to find. The room was quite dark with a floor lamp that was broken. The desk clerk prepared us to see yellow water from the Fawcett, but there wasn't a good explanation as to why. The continental breakfast was sadly lacking.” Aug 4, 2007 by
Jo from Atlanta, GA
“Needs complete renovation. Three rooms, all with stained, dirty carpet and chipped, old, dirty furniture. Public spaces had stained, dirty carpets; and were poorly maintained. After much persistence on our part, finally given a recently renovated room. The hotel makes the offer of rooms at a price they set, and no matter how a customer obtains the room the product should be the same.” Jul 29, 2007 by
George from Kintnersville, PA
“I arrived late and was greeted very nicely by the desk clerk. Check-in was quick and our room was great. The hotel was very accommodating as I had called earlier in the day to notify them that we would be traveling with one child and would our room be able to handle it. The clerk instantly changed our room to one that solved the problem. The continental breakfast was a great surprise and our check out was quick and smooth.” May 9, 2007 by
Pam from Mashpee, MA
“The hotel was fine for an overnight and was convenient to nearby town for food and entertainment.” Apr 26, 2007 by
Ellen from Greenlawn, NY
“The Clarion is a great place to stay if you are looking for a inexpensive ski weekend. Rooms are large and can accommodate 4 adults nicely (ask for a room with 2 queen size beds). The indoor pool was being renovated, so we were able to use the outdoor spa at the Castle Resort next door - -fantastic perk! See if you can get a comp pass to go there. Eat at Sam's steak house right down the road and Wicked Pizza.” Apr 6, 2007 by
Paul from Falls Church, VA
“I would visits there again, good value, clean accommodations.” Mar 14, 2007 by
Michelle from Greenfield, MA
“A very pleasant place to stay with friendly staff. The decor was in keeping with the Vermont countryside and our room was ample in size.” Mar 8, 2007 by
El from Greenlawn, NY
“A great place to stay to ski, large rooms, hot tub and indoor pool terribly unattractive- won't they know how to shock treat their pool? Nice staff.” Feb 13, 2007 by
Mark from Holden, MA
“Very close to Okemos. Very good value. Spa was excellent, even if you just spend the little $ to have access for the day to the hot tub, heated outdoor pool, and fitness equipment.” Jul 8, 2006 by
Jonathan from Hawthorne, NJ
“Nestled in the rolling Vermont hills the Clarion is adjacent to the Castle Spa which has a wonderful restaurant. The nearby town of Ludlow is quaint if not a tad dull. We stayed here on our way to the Calvin Coolidge site in Plymouth Notch which was only 20 minutes away. The indoor pool and hot tub were a nice feature.” Dec 23, 2005 by
Mark from Richmond, KY
“Very nice clean hotel, however breakfast was not included on weekends which we did not find out about until arrival at the hotel. However, we found a very nice little diner in Rutland for breakfast.” Nov 29, 2005 by
Mike from Wethersfield, CT
“This is my second consecutive year that I have taken my family to Vermont for Thanksgiving. I like this hotel and will continue to come back.” Aug 8, 2005 by
Mara from Swan Lake, NY
“The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are good extra services such as a laundry room and hi speed internet access. The handicap accessible room was available for us and very comfortable. Staying there overnight was a very positive experience for us.” Jul 27, 2005 by
Alexandra from Upton, MA
“Didn't have too much time to check out the property...friendly staff....refridgerator was helpful, as was the coffee pot...” Jul 25, 2005 by
Kevin from Julian, PA
“Outstanding quality and beyond my expectations” Jul 25, 2005 by
Jeff from Roswell, GA
“The hotel was clean and nicely furnished. The area was also nice with views of the mountains. However, the hotel is NOT in Rutland, it is actually 20 miles southeast of Rutland. Also, I was there the week of a heat wave and the hotel is not equipped for HVAC systems. The lobby was like an oven each day. But, I will give them a break here because of the climate for the area. The hotel staff is really friendly. No internet service in the rooms but you are allowed to use the computer in the lobby. ” Jul 7, 2005 by
David from Brooklyn, NY
“nice large rooms, small pool, right on highway, friendly staff”
