• 2nd floor balcony area made a nice gathering space.
• Balconies did not connect which made it awkward in going up and down the stairs. Needs an elevator.

“Central location made sightseeing convenient. Great restaurants and charming historic downtown area. The hotel rooms are a bit dated but very clean, the bed was ultra comfortable and no one in our group of 14 had a bad nights sleep. Not a romantic hotel but when traveling with children of all ages there were activities for them.”

• Very clean and comfortable.

“This was a very comfortable stay. The bed was comfy, the sheets clean and comfy, the room temp control worked well, the bathroom was clean and not too cramped. We played ping pong, miniature golf, and football in their pool area. Restaurants close by and a mall. Walmart and Target are close as well. The staff was courteous and very helpful.”

• The location was very good for the attractions we wanted to see.
• No elevators to 2nd floor. Room about as far away as possible.

“The hotel front was nice, our room on the second floor was about as far away from the lobby and parking as you could get. There are no elevators so be prepared to haul everything up the stairs. We didn't find any carts upstairs, so that means carrying your luggage all the way to your room. While literature in the room indicated green policies and we hung our towels back up. Housekeeping changed them every day anyway. Our room was on an interior atrium overlooking the pool area. There are tables and chairs on the upstairs walkway where you can sit and observe and relax. Our trip was in February so the pool wasn't busy, but when a few people did partake, their voices and merriment were easily heard in the room. Overall, it was suitable for our needs but not as good as the Hampton Inn I normally prefer to stay at when traveling.”

• Initial room smelled of mildew but they agreed to change rooms. Not extremely impressed with second room.

“Hotel met basic needs, but I was a little disappointed in the room. Everyone on staff was very professional and pleasant.”

• Hotel staff was excellent!!
• Housekeeping should check the check out list before knocking on room doors it wakes people unnecessarily.

“The entire stay was wonderful with the exception of both mornings the housekeeping staff woke me and one night I didn't even get in the hotel till after midnight.”

• Extremely fast service with a plumbing problem. We moved to a different room for comfort.

• Clean, quiet rooms.
• Kids took over the pool area and were running wild.

“Our room was clean and quiet. Just what we were looking for. We stayed over Labor Day weekend. The pool was empty on Friday, but Saturday there were unsupervised kids everywhere. It's one thing if they're playing nicely, but they were running wild. Not a major problem, but a disappointment nonetheless. We ate in the restaurant on Friday night. The food was ok, but we were the only people eating in the restaurant. Seemed a little strange. Overall, our stay was good and we would recommend this hotel for families and travelers, but definitely not for a romantic getaway.”

• The location was convenient, the lobby was attractive and clean, and the staff was friendly.
• The room was so smelly, things were very outdated.

“The location and the lobby of this hotel was nice but the inside of the room was such a contrast. The room was very outdated. Things falling apart and worst of all, it smelled so musty that we barely slept and checked out as quickly as possible.”

“Very accommodating. Hairdryer did not work and they came and replaced it right away. It was about 68 degrees outside when we came in and the room felt a lot colder than that. We were told that they couldn't turn on the boiler so we could not warm up the room. We turned off the AC and went to dinner. We came back and it was still cold.”

• No for business traveler, high speed wireless was very slow.

“Great location decent price, however if you are a business traveler it may not be for you. The wireless internet is spotty and very slow. You must request and outside room in order for your cell phone to get a signal and work.”

“Great hotel but a bit hard to find. It was very far away from Hagerstown and I had a terrible time finding it in the dark. Need to note how far away this is from Hagerstown, Maryland. Staff was excellent. Very accommodating.”

“The hotel offered me the best room but it was on the second floor (no elevator) and I wasn't able to use the stairs. In any event, the staff was wonderful, very accommodating, the rooms are good, clean and quiet and the hotel is full service.”

• I liked the clean room and the big comfortable bed!
• Staff was somewhat curt, met with very loud music from party at 11pm.

“The hotel was in an odd location, it's main entrance being in the parking lot of the local mall. However, when we entered, the lobby was clean and we were met fairly nicely. The room was lovely, clean, soft carpet, clean bathroom with toiletries, and the king sized bed was very comfortable, the clean sheets and nice comforter. Room was so dark that we didn't even realize the sun had risen!”

• Good location. Close to restaurants. Comfortable bed.
• Bathroom was not as clean a I had hoped for.

“Good full-service hotel that was conveniently located. I asked a non-smoking. I called about two hours before arrival and was told that my smoking king was available. I'm very sensitive to smoke, so that would not do. They gave me a non-smoking double (I was traveling with my wife) instead. Hotel room was clean, but bathroom was less so. Crud around the toilet base and tile grouting was a real turn-off. Shower water pressure was excellent. Beds were very comfortable. Room location was in a quiet spot, away from the pool area. We did not use the pool or fitness facilities, as we arrived late and decided to sleep in before getting back on the road. Many chain restaurants near the hotel.”

• The location was excellent, close to restaurants and shopping.
• Our room was not cleaned during our stay.

“We checked in on Friday and was pleased with the location and the general appearance of the room. On Saturday we were out until 8 PM, and upon returning noted the room had not been cleaned. We contacted the front desk and they sent up a porter with bathroom linens. Had to call back for coffee/sugar cups. Room never cleaned or bed made.”

• Convenient location to both the 270 and 70 highways. Also plenty of stores and restaurants in the area.
• The hotel looked newer from the outside but the rooms were tired and overall, just average.

• Very hard to find had to stop at a Holiday Inn Express to get directions.

“Not easy to find but it was the typical Holiday Inn once I got there. Staff was friendly and helpful. I always put a Holiday Inn in the middle of my family trip because of the washer & dryer.”

• Lots of amenities, recreation, restaurant, bar.
• The black out curtains didn't close, light shone in all night.

“Overall the hotel was nice but the towel bar over the toilet was falling off the wall and the curtains did not close so the light in the pool area shined into the room all night. The overall appearance of the hotel and room was upscale but the rooms still needed to be fine tuned to go about 2.5 stars.”

• Our room was (indoor) poolside - which made it noisy during pool hours.

“The hotel was clean, the staff friendly - we requested a king bed - and because they were having an event in the outside parking lot (tented) they gave us a poolside king - the indoor pool facilities caused the noise to be overly loud and echoing - I would not recommend a poolside room to anyone. We also did not see elevators - just indoor stairs - this could cause problems for some. However, the room was clean, the bed comfortable, the service very good and we would recommend it based on that. The food at the restaurant was good, and prices compared well to those outside of the hotel.”

• I liked the general cleanliness of the hotel and the fact that there was a fridge and microwave in the room. This makes for good traveling.
• We were given the wrong gift bags and then asked to return them.

“Overall, our stay at this hotel was a short one since we were just in town for a wedding. So the cleanliness was attractive to us. The only run-in we had was that they gave us the wrong wedding gift bags even though our names were on the right ones as we were told during the wedding. When we went back to get the correct ones, they asked us to return the first ones. It would also have been nice at that price range to have had a free hot breakfast available since most hotels in that range would have had that offer. That would be my only complaint. Otherwise, our stay was a very nice and comfortable one.”

“The hotel was spread out but the large parking lot allowed you to be close to the exit wherever it was located, It was clean and provided necessary amenities. Bed was comfortable, room warm, love having a refrigerator, most important plenty of hot water.”

• We needed a wine opener and the bar was nice enough to open without charging. Hot tub was a much need break in the day.
• The tile on the bathroom floor was coming off.

“My visit to Frederick was for a funeral. It was a great place to stay and relax in between family events for the funeral.”
