“The hotel was beautiful. The staff was wonderful even when I checked it at 12 midnight. My room was very nice and the restaurant had a very nice breakfast buffet. This hotel has a wonderful pool area that makes you feel like youre on a nice vacation even if you are only traveling away for a day. I recommend this hotel to everyone and will be staying there again when I return.”

• Pile of cigarette butts left on patio-unsightly; carpets need cleaning.

“Good price for area. Front desk staff - wonderful. Acknowledged my presence upon entry and again while standing in line to check in. One staff member gave us a candy bar when we inquired where the vending machines were - nice touch. Great location to restaurants, shopping. Nice grocery store (Wegman's) nearby. Great hotel for a short stay.”

• The linen was clean.
• Room temperature poor, ceiling tiles coming apart, very few comforts in room for guest.

“The hotel is outdated, only offers quest coffee in room, no lounge space for visitors, ice and vending machines are mostly empty.”

• Except the toilet, the experience was stellar.
• The toilet was not acceptable. It needs bathroom fan/venting.

“This was the last night we spent in a hotel returning from family Thanksgiving and my daughter's move from NC to CT. Overall, the stay was exceptional and gave us things we didn't even realize. However, the bathroom toilet was outdated and didn't flush properly or have much flow eventually stopped up. One deficiency we find in all Marriott hotels is a lack of fan or ventilation making the bathroom too hard to stay in once the shower is used.”

• It was a surprisingly comfortable suburban hotel and conference center we were there for a wedding, great.
• The look of It from the outside.

“We had a wedding at this hotel and went with three kids. We were surprised by the nice decor and good service. I have to say that when we arrived they made a mistake and gave us a room that was already occupied (no embarrassing situations discovered, thankfully) and they quickly remedied the situation and provided us with a free breakfast. I would recommend the hotel. Also, It had a very nice bar.”

• There was a breast survivor walk. The hotel exits were blocked earlier than we were told hard to get out.

“The hotel appears to be having some difficulty. The large, once excellent restaurant was closed for dinners and Sunday brunch for which it was famous without a rest. There is no convenient food. Grounds were not kept clean. Seemed to be a shortage of staff. Bathroom needs upgrading.”

• It was close to where I needed to be.
• The security door next to our room did not lock. The food was awful and overpriced.

“Most of the restaurants mentioned on their website were closed before 8PM. Had to eat in the bar or get room service. The pool was dirty. The security door at the end of our hallway did not close on its own and was generally unlocked. The staff at the front desk tried to charge me a second time. She did not speak good English and was not helpful. Had to have someone else check me in. In room Wi-Fi was an extra charge.”

“Hotel was very convenient and clean, although staff left A/C off in room so it was very difficult to cool down. The place was nice and I would stay there again, but I would bring my own pillow. The pillows were rocks masquerading as pillows and when we asked at the desk they said that was all they had. Finally at 4am we rolled up the comforter to act as a pillow so we could get some sleep.”

• Our room was moldy.

“When we checked into the Marriott, we requested a room close to an exit door so that I could easily get outside to smoke. The staff pleasantly assigned a room perfectly situated in a convenient location to allow that. Unfortunately, in room, mold has been allowed to grow behind the bathroom tile and above the ceiling to the extent that all you smell throughout the room is mold, with mold oozing through the grout and between the acoustical tiles. Because of the location we didn't want to request a different room, but when our friends checked in for a shared room at full price the next night, we made sure there was a room change.”

• It had several amenities that were convenient and it was quiet.
• It was spread out, and you had to pay for internet access.

“I was very pleased with the Marriott Hunt Valley. I was impressed with the size, and also with the updated decor. I thought the amenities they featured - business center with computers, printers, copiers, and a free boarding pass computer - were great. I was disappointed that you had to pay daily for internet access, and the price was pretty steep, $10 per day. That's prohibitive if you just want to check your email or look up an online map of the local area.”

• It far exceeded my expectations. I never expected this nice of a hotel as you scored it as only a 3-star.
• Parking lot was not well-lighted.

“Great location to malls, stores, great restaurants and to mica (the college we were visiting). It had many amenities: indoor/outdoor pool, tennis courts, their own restaurants and cafe. Staff was very accommodating and courteous. They helped with restaurant selection and entertainment in the area. They actually gave us a map of the area! Great hotel especially for the price we paid for and the area we stayed in!”

• I just love the workout room they had there. Perfect for any age!
• I did not like the fact that the room did not have a fridge or microwave oven.

“As stated before the hotel was perfect (the gym, staff, room, etc), the only thing I did not like was the fact that the room did not have a mini fridge or microwave oven. Every time I went out to eat I couldn't bring back any leftover because there was no way of reheating it.”

• The hotel is clean and well managed. Property while not high end is landscaped and nicely decorated.
• The hotel was just remodeled and we did not care for the carpet selections.

“We found the hunt valley area provided a quiet setting while being convenient to major roads to and from downtown Baltimore. With its recent remodel completed the hotel is comfortable, clean and affordable. Importantly, staff is attentive and friendly.”

• Bad service, fraudulent charges. Be wary.

“The bed is comfortable and the location is great. However, you can hear the traffic from your room if you're located street side. No one answers the phone - whether it is the front desk or room service. No robes provided as stated on the hotel site. The fast checkout program doesn't work and the bill is not delivered to your room as stated at the hotel either. The bath was not clean - hair in the shower, water marks on the counter and marks in the tub. The sheets had black stains on them. Upon arrival, I tried calling the front desk several times and no one answered. I stayed on 12/22-24 and the hotel parking lot was practically empty. So no excuse for lack of service. I was also fraudulently charged. When I checked out, I asked for a copy of the bill which stated It¿s now 5 days later and I¿m still fighting to have the removed. The hotel says it is an "authorization charge that should be removed in a few days". I stay at dozens of hotels per year and have never experienced this. It sounds like a scam. I've contacted my credit card company, bank, it, and the hotel. Be wary of this hotel.”
