• The hotel bar closed early, around 11:30. The bartender sold us a drink, but told us we had to sit outside in the lobby. Also, no food.

“The rooms were very high end. Very clean and well decorated with down comforters and pillows. We did not use the facilities, such as the pool, etc. The area was okay. Right next to the airport, so don't expect to sleep through the night if your room faces the airport! Ours wasn't, and it was very quiet. The heater and air conditioners need a thermostat, so they can shut off.”

• Quiet rooms.
• Old hotel, so-so appearance, water in shower kept on changing to hot to cold and cold to hot.

• Convenient location.
• Not the best neighborhood.

“Nice hotel, comfortable, food is ok. Must pay to park, some airplane noise. The neighborhood is nothing to brag about, but seems basically safe. No other restaurants nearby.”

• Wonderful staff all departments. Room was very nice for a 3 star, attention to little things for attractiveness-how towels folded, etc.
• Pool area could be prettier. Walk to pool nice vegetation and landscape but pool area itself needs plants, covered area, more ambiance.

“I would highly recommend this to anyone who needed to stay in the area. Very nice, courteous staff. At check in I asked if room had fridge, they said no but they will bring one up if I wanted it. Brought me a good size one, no extra fee. Ate 2 meals in restaurant, sat at bar, service was fast and courteous/friendly. Room was very nice for a 3 star, attractive and super clean.”

• The breakfast meal was great.
• The hall ways were not air-conditioned.

“Because of the heat outside, my room was not cool and it took most of the night for the air conditioner to cool the room. The hallways were not air-conditioned either and my room air conditioner was fighting that heat as well.”

• I felt very safe as I frequently travel alone.

“This hotel was very clean, friendly, I enjoyed room service. The outside fine dining watching the planes was very romantic, and the food was excellent in taste and presentation. It costs to park your vehicle but it is secure. Once your there is no reason to leave.”

• The room was huge with two desks to work on.
• Noisy because adjacent to an airport.

“This hotel was attractive and luxurious. We really took advantage of all the features - good Jacuzzi, good pool, good restaurant. The room was top-notch, spacious and with two desks, perfect for us, as well as a couch, etc. The only downsides: crummy neighborhood (they had a fenced parking area, but you wouldn't go walking at night) and the airport noise, although these small planes didn't bother us.”

• 2nd floor room smelled of smoke. Should put smokers on 3rd floor.

“We arrived for our first trip a week before and told the front desk we would be back the following week but would be early, around 10am and could we stay around the pool until check-in. They not only said we could but would make sure our room was ready so we could check-in when we arrived. The poolside barbecue they have on Wednesday and Friday is outstanding value. The wait staff at breakfast was extremely accommodating to my child and her breakfast wants. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again.”

• Big room, big beds, nice amenities (linens, etc.) Secure parking with cameras.
• They charged $10 per vehicle per night for parking. Surrounded by unsafe neighborhoods, no shopping or restaurants close by.

“Killed 3 big roaches outside during my stay. Trying to eat food left in the hall, in pool bathroom. Told to staff, they just laughed. Nice big rooms. Nice bedding. Nice big beds. Nice amenities. Small TV. Two desks. Quiet even though it was next to a private airport. Cost me additional $50 to park for a 3 night stay. In the middle of nowhere in a big city. Surrounded by questionable neighborhoods. Heavy traffic on short stretch of freeway I had to travel. Minimum half hour to 2 hours, one evening, to travel 8 mile stretch of highway. Desk clerk sent me to a Wall-mart 10 miles away to find a store in a decent area. Pain to enter and exit parking lot.”

• Every person in this hotel accommodated our needs.
• I wish they had a shuttle from the Burbank Airport!

“My daughter and I traveled here for one night. We checked in late, were greeted with a smile, let us use a stapler, swam in the pool the following morning, got a late check out, had free wireless, Disney channel, helped with directions to out next location the next day. Yes there was a $10 parking fee but that is much less than some hotels. It was great and I called my husband and said we are coming here to stay again! Thanks.”

• Convenience to freeways, airport security, you didn't hear planes at night.
• Had to drive to go out to restaurants other than what was in hotel.

“It was inexpensive, clean, secure and very accommodating. The front desk staff could be more friendly and smile a little more. The hotel is located on the Van Nuys airport so you have airport security patrolling the area and since the flights are regulated, they were not allowed to fly in during the night. Very quiet. My daughter did find a lot of bugs by the Jacuzzi at night.”

• The staff was very helpful.
• For a two-night stay, I needed more shampoo/conditioner.

“This hotel is convenient for a trip to Los Angeles. Although it was adjacent to a small airport, there was no noise at all. The room was large, clean and the bed was not too terrible (hotel beds are usually too firm). The goose down pillows were very nice, and I appreciated the extra blanket in the closet. The air conditioner was extremely efficient, and kept the room quite comfortable in August. I would stay there again.”

• Public transportation is a block away. If you are familiar with the LA Metro system, then you are set. Not far from the 405 freeway, easy to find.
• Can you believe that they wanted to charge $5 to microwave something? Incredible!

“We needed a place to stay near the Burbank airport. This hotel was fine, but no refrigerator or microwave. We asked if we could have something microwaved, but they said $5! I have never encountered such a charge before. We did not have a chance to try out the three hot tubs or swimming pool, unfortunately. Parking was $10 for overnight. It is close to the Metro stop which is a block away. No recycling here. I am disappointed because I am trying to frequent hotels who are more green. They looked at me like they had no idea what I was doing with my recyclables. No, it is not trash! Earth destroyers.”

“The hotel was extremely professional and the hotel was fine but the Van Nuys area is not as nice as many other surrounding areas. We were vacationing and going to Six Flags in Valencia so we would have been much better off staying closer to the theme park, which is a very nice area. For the price, it met our expectations. We would not stay in Van Nuys again though.”

• The theme is very creative.
• The airport noise was annoying and the wired internet was flakey.

“Staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was large and clean. The bathroom is small. The area has nothing within walking distance for going to eat or shop but over the freeway a bit and there is a mall. Overall very comfortable place to stay.”

• Hotel staff was unprofessional and had poor customer service.

“Quite frankly, I'm very surprised that this hotel rated 3stars. It seemed like it was one step above a motel. Although the food in the restaurant was okay, the wait staff was very unprofessional and displayed very poor customer service. Housekeeping was not much better. Their towels were rough and hard, not to mention dingy. Numerous requests were made to housekeeping for an extra set of towels, needless to say that never materialized. The only thing that qualified this establishment as a hotel was probably upgraded curtains and room service. I was very disappointed at the quality of hotel. I for one, would not stay here again.”

• The location and the staff were very good.
• My only real complaint was that the air conditioner in the room made a very loud buzzing noise all night.

“The hotel was clean, stylish and in a great location. We will definitely stay there again. The hotel does need to update their cooling systems in the rooms, as they are very, very loud and can keep you awake.”

“Room wasn't cool when we arrived and took several hours for the AC to cool the room down because it was facing the sunset. Plane noise wasn't really a factor unless you have to go to bed really early. We went to bed at 9:30 pm and never heard a plane. The parking fee was sort of silly considering the hotel isn't located in a crowded Downtown area where you normally expect to pay for parking. But it was gate controlled which is somewhat more secure.”

“However we could hear the planes and jets take-off, starting at 6 a.m. The obligatory car parking fee was only $10 a night but th e parking lot system was a little cumbersome. The public spaces and hallways were worn around the edges, so was the staff.”

• The proximity to the private Van Nuys airport. It was great to be able to watch planes land and take off.
• Required $50.00 charge on my credit card to secure room.

“The facility is gorgeous. Many spas, spacious pool and pool deck. Rooms were large with desk, table, coffee, hairdryer, beautiful bathroom.”

• I was confused about the breakfast.

“It was delightful, clean, refreshing and the airport next door was intriguing. A genuinely nice place to stay! Felt safe and it was just a couple minutes off the freeway! You won't be sorry you stay there if your visit is as good as ours.”
