“The room would have been very good. If 1 they would only spend time to clean up after previous residents, 2 they'd figure out how to make the shower head look clean (yuck, again!), and 3 the cable TV displayed the nominal channels they're supposed to. The 'free' breakfast is pretty tasteless (small, unremarkable pastries, puny/SMALL bagels, typical cereal pkgs). The shower head just seemed horrible to want to use (but I did use it, with no known ill effects), I did not get the room for the TV programming, and although a free/great tasting/nutritious breakfast would be nice -- it also was not a deciding factor in my choosing HoJo. I wanted something affordable, dry and safe -- which HoJo met. The room SHOULD have been cleaner, and it is this problem that I can blame directly on the motel as a BAD deficiency.” Sep 9, 2006 by

“Old, dated & dirty carpet, wet walkways during rainy weather. Continental breakfast not a big deal. When I checked in, they didn't have my reservation.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Apr 9, 2006 by

“Friendly, older hotel, next time I'll pay more for a nicer hotel.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Mar 5, 2006 by

“The hotel was dirty, electrical was poor, there is nothing good I can say about this facility. It should not even be one of your chosen locations.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Feb 21, 2006 by

“I would recommend this hotel. The entire facility needed a good scrubbing! The carpets were dirty and the chair in our room was badly soiled and frayed! The TV didn't work and the maintenance person had called in sick. We were moved to another room where the TV did work. However, there was no improvement in cleanliness.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Jan 18, 2006 by

“While I didn't see much of the outside of the hotel room, our stay was comfortable and the staff efficient.” Dec 4, 2005 by

“We liked everything but the bar really disliked that and seeing the customers that patronized that establishment and the fact that the pool was "heated" according to their website but was FAR from heated.” Nov 19, 2005 by
Bill M. from Valrico, FL
“ A big biker hangout, witnessed fights, 8 police officers, a person screaming for help at 4 am only to be kidding, non stop partying until 5am, constant yelling, no possibility of sleeping. An overflowed bathroom, and will not get into details but someone's else's dirty clothes under the bed. Absolutely the worst possible experience and we invited another couple along, how embarrassing.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 13, 2005 by

“Room seemed old and dirty. Bathroom was filthy. Floor was not vacuumed. Hair found in "clean" towels.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 1, 2005 by

“Room had a few roaches. Don't plan on eating breakfast, the staff slept in. No other restaurants near by.” Aug 5, 2005 by

“Grounds were nice. Pool area good. Entertainment at bar and grill good( there were things to do). But..The rooms were terrible. Carpets were stained. Wallpaper peeling off the walls.Paint peeling off the outside. Air-conditioning didn't work very well. Had to move out of our room once d/t air not working at all. Usually stay in 3 star hotel. Will never stay in a 2 star again. Location was good. Could get to beaches within 30 minutes.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 21, 2005 by

“Nice location but in very bad need of repairs got locked in bathroom.telphone did not work, lamps and light swich would not work.” Jun 29, 2005 by
Michael from St Petersburg, FL “Pretty far from the center of Deland, this hotel is off the interstate with a very inactive exit. There is one small convenience store next door, and that is it. Must travel far and through dark streets to get to restaurants or grocery stores. The cleanliness of the room was pretty bad. No way were we going to take a shower in that thing. Could barely stand to use the toilet and flip flops were a must at all times. The TV was very large but unfortunately, only half the channels were clear. The cable housing was pulled out of the wall and wiggling it around showed it to be the problem. What can I say? Not exaggerating here. Just cheap.Stay intown.” Jun 28, 2005 by

“For Deland where hotels are limited at best it was a fine deal.” Jun 5, 2005 by

“Older hotel. It is out of the way and not near anything. Staff very helpful and friendly and tried to make my stay the best it could be in such an old hotel. Needs to be renovated.” Hotel Representatives:
