  • Dirty, broken furniture, uncomfortable beds, everything was wither broken or dirty.

“I believe it's the only pet friendly hotel in the JFK airport area. We brought our little yorkie with us and had no trouble. It was clean but slow service.”

“The Ramada Plaza is a convenient comfortable place to stay close to JFK Airport. I really liked the tiled bathroom with its old-fashioned feel, yet up to date amenities. It fit my needs perfectly!”

  • Mattress too soft. Heard snoring in room next door all night through the wall. Could not sleep.

“It is convenient for a traveler who is in need of a one night stay over hotel. It is in poor condition, and I wouldn't stay here again, if I could avoid it. There is a free shuttle to and from the airport/hotel which is very convenient.”

  • All staff members, especially the Jamaican van driver, were very friendly.
  • The walls were so thin that it seemed I was in the same bathroom as my neighbor.

  • For as close as this hotel is to the airport, it takes longer to get there using there free shuttle service than going all the way into Manhattan.

“Shuttle service is virtually non existent. It took over an hour to get to the hotel on 3 different instances, after they were called and told that we were waiting.”

  • Soundproof no airplane noise in room. Free shuttle.
  • Air conditioning did not cool enough.

“Excellent for a one night stay while traveling between destinations. Close to airport, free shuttle, no outside airplane noise inside room. Excellent breakfast buffet, although pricy. Business office with internet connection inexpensive and easy to find.”

  • The room was dirty and the staff was overwhelmed.

“At the airport, when we tried to call for a shuttle, there was no answer. When we arrived at the hotel, there were over 100 people (no exaggeration, I had time to count) in the line to check in where there were 2 clerks. It took us well over an hour to get checked in. Then the room was less than mediocre and dirty. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It was my truly bad experience.”

“The best thing I can say about this hotel is that it is convenient. I used it this year and last year so as not to have to make a connection after coming in from Europe. Frankly, it is barely suitable but, with the volume of usage for all hotels in the area, I probably can't do any better. Better the devil you know.”

  • Close to joke and has 24 hrs services from and to joke.
  • I had to call several times before a got respond from help desk at lest three time souring one night stay.

“Room is two small. Furniture¿s are getting old and not very clean. TV program is bad. Bathroom does not have enough supplies. Food and beverages prices are too high.”

  • The air conditioning did not work -- heat was on -- had to open windows to cool room down -- no screens in windows.

“The room was ok for one night. However, my staff had ordered a bottle of champagne and some cheese and fruit for me when I arrived back from Spain on the 10th as it was my birthday. However, the hotel did not follow through with their promise to have it in my room or else they sent it to a different room. They were disappointed as they wanted to surprise me.”

  • The location (at JFK) was perfect!
  • The hotel is very nosy. I had problems sleeping.

“I have traveled extensively on business and this is the worst 2.5 star hotel I have ever been in. There web site states "recently renovated", I do not know what recently means but it is at least 20 years. The rooms are nosy and very dingy. There is an awesome coffee/desert bar in the lobby. I asked when it opened and was told it did not it was just for show?”

“The beds in the room in which I stayed were both broken. The bed frame was at an angle therefore both beds were at an angle. The hotel overall was very disappointing, for the star rating and overall comfort level.”

  • Room service not usually available. Hung up on by busy desk staff.

“It never has enough help to provide adequate service. Front desk put me on hold for wake up call and then hung up me. Manager took call. never got call. No one ever answer the phone have commented on this hotel before and still given it a 2.5 rating. It is barely a 1.5 by your other standards. I am going to hot wire from on as you people don't listen and I cant take the chance on your ratings anymore. Bye”

  • Hairdryer was broke. had to wait 25 minutes for new one.

  • It was close to JFK and the shuttle service was great.
  • The price for a buffet lunch was extremely expensive and the food was not good. I would not recommend eating there if you have a car.

“When we got there we had to eat a buffet supper. It cost $49 for 2 people. The food was not good and there were flies all over some of the food. When we got back to the hotel after being gone most of the next day our door key did not work. Had to go back down and have it reprogrammed Otherwise it was nice.”

  • Proximity to the airport and the shuttle.
  • The rooms were TINY & DINGY. Not worth $110/night

“The Ramada Plaza is very close to JFK which is great if you are flying in late or flying out very early. The airport shuttle is very convenient and runs regularly. But, those are the ONLY reasons I would stay at this hotel. The rooms are TINY and DINGY and not worth the price. The front counter staff were LESS than helpful and not very friendly. Some other hotel staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The gentleman, Carl, who brought the crib to our room was very nice, polite, and friendly. The bartender also went out of his way to get some milk for our little one and even let me use his cell phone to place a late night TO GO order after the hotel kitchen had closed. Convenient access to Manhattan via the subway is also a plus. Take the hotel shuttle to the airport and take the airports Air train to the A Train (Howard Beach Station). If you take the A Trains 8th Ave. Express Train, you can be in Downtown Manhattan in about 35 minutes.”

  • Clean, modern hotel.
  • The complimentary shuttle service did not have enough vehicles to do the job.

“The shuttle bus runs every 30 minutes. Our bus did not leave until people were squeezed tightly into the aisle. For peak departure times, this was 9:00 am. Wednesday, there should be additional vehicles to do the job.”

  • Location right on airport made it the right place to stay.
  • Very close to glide path - noise level high.

“The hotel served the purpose that I needed because it was on the airport. However it is rundown because of its age. Noise level was very high and would disrupt the sleep of many people. Transportation was provided by the hotel but the wait time for pickup was nearly 45 minutes.”

  • It was close to the airport and it had a shuttle to the airport.
  • There was no air conditioning in the room at this time of the year, which made the room very uncomfortable for sleeping.

“We were surprised because we have never received a hotel like this before. In much need of remodeling the rooms, The air conditioning is turn off this time of the year. We arrived late and found the restaurant closed but could get a choice of 2 different sandwiches in the bar.”

  • Terrible restaurant. The server was nice; however, the food was terrible.

“It was convenient The major problem we had was that we lined up for the bus to JFK and it was full so we had to wait for another. The bus we got made 6 stops before we reached Jet Blue. The driver said he didn't like the Jet Blue terminal so we told him to pull over and we would walk, a short distance. Bottom line, we missed our flight and had to wait 12 hours in the airport on stand by.”

  • Free Parking is about the only thing I liked.
  • A/C, cleanliness, T.V, check-in, bellman, size of bathroom, etc etc etc

“It was too far from everything for me. Check-in took 45 min. w/ very very long lines. Didn't give the T.V. channels they said were free, until I called and complained. No T.V.Guide in room, till I asked for it. T.V. Remote was broken. Bathroom was too small. Iron board and iron were very difficult to use. Room was dusty, A/C didn't work well, bathroom walls and door were dirty. While I was in/on my bed, I could hear guests in next room talking, coughing, using the toilet, toilet flushing, water running, their T.V. I could hear the maids vacuuming next door very early. A/C in exercise room wasn't cool enough, some equipment didn't work. Driving directions from Bellman weren't correct. ”
