• Restaurant food was first class, staff helpful, hotel very clean, gym and pool very good.
• Rooms a little on the small side - ours did not have a bath, only a shower.

“We stayed at the Castle Green Hotel for four nights at the end of July. I have always felt that British hotels were inferior to a lot of continental hotels, but the Castle Green compared favorably. The food in the restaurant was extremely good and the food in the pub was good value. I would certainly go there again.”

• we were upgraded to an exec room which was very nice.
• There was a generator nearby which was quite noisy and the room smelt a bit musty but overall was comfortable

• The tea and coffee supplies were generous unlike some hotels. The room was very clean.

• service by all staff was excellent, and quality of food and room was superb!excellent value for money!

“we were treated extremely well from the moment we walked in, and the staff in all parts of the hotel were very friendly and helpful. the choice of food at breakfast was unbelievable,and the quality of the amenities in the hotel was excellent, from the pool and gym to the restaurant, pub, and reception service and facilities! the surprise upgrade for my auntie's wedding anniversary made their stay, but all the rooms were excellent, not just theirs! I would love to visit this hotel again, and have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone!”

• Great pool and fabulous help-yourself cooked breakfast.
• Were originally placed in a non-smoking room despite having asked for non-smoking. Room was at the back and had view of sloping overgrown bank with little sunlight.

“Very enjoyable stay generally. Don't forget your swimming costume as I did- however you can always buy one if required!”

• Cleanliness of room

“Clean and modern hotel. All member of staff provide a high standard of service and make you feel very welcome. Restaurant serves good food though a bit expensive compared to similar hotels.
I was not involved with the booking process as this was done by my company. Company details were missing at the hotel and I don't know at which level in the booking process this happened but this was rectified after I called the company.”

• Trouser press. Comfortable.Quiet
• With wheeled luggage it would be an idea to have a small ramp at the entrance to avoid carrying down steps. Perhaps there was one?

“The directions said 9 miles to turn off to Kendal and hotel from M6. It could only have been about 5 miles. Not so good in the dark.

The restaurant had really excellent food and was very reasonably priced. Service was friendly and also excellent.”

“We have only good things to say about this hotel.Iwould recommend it to anyone.The staff were pleasant and helpful but not intrusive and responded immediately to requests.The meal we ate in the dining room was excellent as was breakfast except for some rather soggy toast however Iam confidant that it would have been replaced had I asked.
The setting is lovely-views and gardens-and only a short drive from the motorway.Handy for trips into the lakes and for Kendal itself.We will certanly be back.”

• Excellant staff and an informal pub serving bar food on site
• Very noisy at night due to weddings guests as hotle has function rooms for up to 3 weddings and car parking is not sufficeint for no of rooms

“Overall this is an excellant hotel the staff were very efficient and helpfull i particularly liked the informal pub on site serving good pub food etc”
