• easy to find. clean. helpful staff, quite trendy
• paper thin walls, tiny rooms, you won't get much sleep!

“Firstly. this hotel is very expensive not only to stay but for extras like meals or room service. The rooms are very small but pack in all the neccessary features, just don't expect any extra space. The beds are uncomfortable but nicely presented, but beware the walls are so thin you can hear people coughing rooms away. I personally got zero sleep due to noisy "neighbours". The car park is far too small and people with large cars will struggle. The hotel is near to the station, and its a useful base for trips to theme parks and cities. Overall, the hotel is well presented but somewhat impractical and doesn't really warrant the hefty price tag you will be paying.”

• Central location to city centre (walking distance). Good choice of local restaurantas & pubs.
• Poor quality mattress.

• A lovely appearance, big bed and adequate space to sleep a toddler and to have a travel cot
• Extremely hot. Infact, my husband had only just come back from serving in Iraq for 7 months and he says it was one of the worst nights sleep he had in the hotel!!!!

“On arrival, there was a wedding taking place and seems though thats where the staffs attention was. We queued for 20 minutes to book-in (only 2 people in front) there was no apology and the reception wasn't helpful in telling us how to get to our room. On”

• room very smokey because of adjoining room. toilet/bathroom fan could launch space shuttle

“the service at breakfast was dire. the two old ladies (80+) were
trying real hard, however the two guys running the breakfast restaurant were clueless.”

• It was fine, no problems
• Poor reception cover after 11.30pm. Other guests had to phone the hotel to get someone to come to check them in

• It was clean, the staff were pleasant and it was very close to the centre of town
• Room very noisey throughout night due to proximity of stairs

“I found the hotel comfortable and clean and the staff friendly and helpful, however, since I only stayed one night and during that night I did not sleep much due to the noise of people going up and down the stairs, this has rather coloured my view of my stay. Maybe I could have had more of a choice as to where my room was when I booked?”

• clean & modern design
• the smallest room I have ever stayed in in 20 years of business travel all over the world

“how tiny the room was and that we should have brought our own pillows to enable a good night's sleep. You can not call what you give sleeping pillows”

• Very good service at the hotel. The menu in the room was incorrect as they had been changed at the XS Restaurant. The heating on the second night of our stay was not working, so a very cold evening!

• Iliked the staff friendliness and the communal areas
• The hotel cleanliness, value for money and the missing touches. Eg: we paid extra for a Queen size bed but got two doubles pushed together.

• Close to all central points (city centre, coach), services an overnight traveller may need available.
• Internet via TV / remote control operated (i.e. I really need a keyboard ...)

“This hotel offers everything an overnight traveller may need (including in room facilities such as ironing kit ), including close/walkable distance from all the central points, incl. coach station, city centre. Comfortable place to stay !”

“Clean and tidy hotel, efficient,staff friendly and breakfast good; but the place is soulless. Rooms reasonable size, but flat and lifeless. Refurbished to a modern style, but they haven't spent enough to get it quite right, the decor depresses rather than uplifts. Water not hot enough and shower/bath cheap and nasty. I wouldn't want to stay here again. It has the feel of a motel rather than a modern 4 star.”

• convenient location in Derby, friendly staff
• you could hear people outside on the corridor very easily and we woke up on both mornings late at night because of hearing other guests talking outside!

“The hotel is modern with all necessary facilities and conveniently located in Derby. The interior is too dark and it misses atmosphere.
Window at the back leads to the courtyard, the sitting room area has no window at all and the room is generally too dark and noise comes through from the corridor.”

• hotel was easy to find, good car parking and in walking distance from shops.
• Bathroom extremely small, no soap, shampoo, etc.

“The hotel was clean, efficient and the room adequate. Breakfast was to a good standard. Staff helpful and friendly. I did not think it was up to a **** rating and as such was expensive.”

• very clean, good location to town centre, good breakfast and restaurant menu looked good
• rooms were on the small side and could have done with airconditioning

“I enjoyed the stay, however the hotel was extremely hot and could benefit from air con, however the rooms were clean and modern and it was a good location for derby centre.”

• Nice room & friendly staff
• There was some problem with the heating at the time & room was way too warm, however a fan was provided

“We only stayed two nights & found the hotel to be very central to town, clean with friendly staff. Would definately go back as the location was ideal.”

• Corridors and rooms very warm. The lighting system seemed to generate a lot of this heat.
