• excellent alround accommodation
• good dinning area,good bar with excellent selection of drought beers
  & all areas well cleaned

“only had one overnight stay but enjoyed that one off moment, thought the staff ware very helpfull & enjoyed an excellent breakfast, spent an evening in the bar ware there was a welcoming abiance about the place.”

“Charming, old-fashioned decor. Furniture and furnishings are older, but servicable. The rooms are comfortable with clean bathrooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast. Good location. Somewhat qirky floor arrangements, where different buildings are connected together to form one hotel.”

• the hotel staff were friendly and helped us navigate our way round southampton

“although on the high street, the hotel had a homely feel and was extrememly quiet, very pleasant”

• GOOD LOCATION - IN CITY CENTRE
• hotel was a guesthouse

“i have stayed in worse hotels.....but not recently.
left it to the last minute to book and all the 'chain hotels' were fully booked, took a chance and booked this and when I got there wished I hadn't. It was cheap but for a reason. it was in dire need of a bit of cash spending on it. decor was dated. tv had no remote and corridors were musty.”

• Near the centre of Southampton and had parking.
• The sink tap was broken. Bed was small. No soap/shampoo.

“For one night is was acceptable but for a longer stay I would not like to stay in such a small room.”

• The Staff were very helpful and friendly, service was excellent
• The Bed! You could feel the springs through the matress.

“Room small but clean. Some noise late at night from students/public passing by behind the hotel. Bad matress was not conducive to a good night sleep. Had the bed been better it would have been a nice stay.”

• Olde Worlde atmosphere was pleasant.
• Very noisy room.

“I know you can't do much about Fireworks Night, but noise from the Street went on long into the night.The Street cleaning machines then started up and made an horrendous racket and then a Scaffolding Firm started a dismantling job just two doors away.Perhaps I just picked a bad night !

In fairness,my inlaws had a room at the back of the Hotel and had no noise problems.

I will know to request a quiet room next time.

You should also be aware that I didn't get the alarm call I had requested.”

• the Olde Worlde atmosphere . \The Bistro meal in the evening and the breakfast was superb.

“THE HOTEL WAS VERY CENTRAL TO SHOPS AND RESTAURANTS. THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND POLITE.”

• Room was quiet. Staff were efficient and friendly.
• Bed was a bit soft. Room a bit dated.

“Generally good value at '80 including tax and breakfast. Parking is limited when hotel is full.

Check in and out was fast, efficient and friendly. Breakfast staff helpful and also friendly.”

• Nice building, with potential to be a good hotel
• Shower broken; room nearly clean; hotel neither old and quaint nor modern and efficient.
