“The hotel is well designed with free ht drinks & cake facilities throughout. Staff are very informative & friendly. Rooms are extremely spacious with all normal facilities including trouser pres & ironing board. Breakfast is of buffett style, good size, with very helpfull staff. The hotel is situated within nice grounds & the additional leisure facilities are clean & well kept. Rome rates are very comparable if booked via Active Hotels.” Jan 9, 2005 by

“Perhaps might like to have known that it was a fairly basic type of hotel. Because I had seen the 'big house' I had made an assumption that the rooms would be in the house and of course they are not. But that might be might fault for not asking enough questions. Nov 19, 2004 by

“Though a short stay, the surroundings at New Place are peaceful and well maintained, which is exactly what I required. Obviously as a conference centre there is more of a 'business' feel to the place, which was especially noticeable at breakfast, where no one was in attendance to offer a welcome or directions, which might be more suited to purely leisure focused hotels. “I thought the country house was beautiful. The service and breakfast were brilliant. We only stayed the one night and left early the next morning to do the Great South Run so little time to really appreciate the surroundings.” Oct 13, 2004 by

“It would have been an advantage to have been able to have dinner at the hotel. The food at the hotel round the corner was not wonderful, but other than that and the points raised above, we enjoyed our stay.” Sep 26, 2004 by
Hilary from Lytham, United Kingdom
“Liked to have known it was a distance from decent restaurants and pub facilities and that htere was nothing offered on-site” Sep 23, 2004 by

“I used this facility several times in 1995 and 1996 for training but had not had occasion to visit it since then. So I was absolutely delighted to return to find the center every bit as well managed and pleasant as it had been earlier. I had a cozy upstairs room with a comfortable bed and pillow and inexpensive 0800 calls (a definite requirement for me). In addition, the meal quality, selection, and presentation as well as the dining room service were excellent. In short, the overall ambience was as enjoyable as I'd experienced years before.
