“The accommodation was good but needed some refurbishment which I believe is already planned. The food was excellent and the staff were courteous and friendly. Good value for money.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Dec 16, 2004 by

“When booking online it stated check-in time was 'lunchtime'. When we arrived at 12.30pm we were told check-in was 2.00pm, this should have been made clear online. For the price paid I would have expected a larger room with more professional finishings. The room reminded me of overnight stays at my Gran's house in my youth. The shower was very poor with little water pressure. If this had been a '50 per night bed and breakfast it would have been fine. For '72 and 3 stars I expect a bit more.” Nov 25, 2004 by

“The Argyll Hotel is a nice hotel and is central for a Glasgow visit. The parking is free and the room was small but warm.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 19, 2004 by

“The hotel was inexpensive and convenient for my husband, who was attending a conference at the SECC. For that reason, and for the friendly and pleasant staff, we can recommend it. Some of the decor was a bit worn, however. For instance some of the fittings in our wash-basin were peeling, though clean; there was some lifting wallpaper, and some very tired artificial flowers on the stairs. These are small things, which can easily be put right - not doing so gives a rather slack impression. We did feel that the size of the room, and consequently of the bed, bordered on the unacceptable. On the other hand, we welcomed the quietness at the back of the hotel, and the free parking space - and we were very glad to read that the hotel is shortly to become entirely non-smoking. As for food, we only ate breakfasts in the hotel. We found the food okay if rather unexciting. The cooked breakfast was fine, and both tea and coffee were generously provided, but we would have preferred fresh fruit and fresh fruit juice, and perhaps a better range of cereals.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 23, 2004 by

“The Argyll Hotel was everything I'd hoped it would be and more. It was a delightful surprise to have chosen the perfect place for me to stay when I had never been to Glasgow before. It is ideally located for travel around the city and beyond and in a very nice neighborhood as well. I can truly say I hope I can return soon!” Oct 15, 2004 by

“Stayed at this hotel before. Travelling with elderly relative. On street parking can be tricky. Good access to town centre shops. Evening meal this time much better - quality of ingredients, well prepared and reasonably priced.” Aug 23, 2004 by

“'Do not refer to people by Christian name' does not sound very politically correct. I request you to change it to the generally accepted one, eg. first name.” Aug 10, 2004 by
