• The closeness to the SECC, perfect!
• Bar closed too early. Even midnight closing would be fine.

“Great value for money. The essentials...comfy bed and power shower were in this hotel room. Quick taxi ride into city centre to max the credit card at the shops! All in all perfect for purpose of stay which was concert at SECC.”

• Nice large double bedroom and it was very close to the scottish exhibition centre ( 300 metres )

“I have stayed in Campanile hotels before ( in Paris ) so i already had a pretty good idea of the service/quality that was going to be provided esp breakfast/meals etc, it was also ideal and very easy to find and get to using public transport ( trains every 15 minutes ) and it was right next door to the Scottish exhibition centre which is where i wanted to visit - perfect location 10/10, no complaints at all !!!!!”

“Wish I'd know there wasn't a bath in the room. Hotel is bright and clean and well presented and in an ideal place to be handy for the city and still in a quiet area. Problems with the shower - dodgy base and shower holder were awkward. Issues with room keycard made the start of the visit stressful. Money on hold on a switch card was annoying too.”

• Overall good experience, nice room and good value for money
• Thought the bar set up was poor and the staff gave impression that they would have preferred you to be drinking anywhere other than their bar and couldn't wait to be rid of us at approx 11.30 pm.

“Nothing to add really other than to reiterate than overall it was a pleasant experience but the bar experience was negative. Consideringt it's proximity to the SECC and the captive market it enjoys then the bar seems to be a hinderance rather than a help to the hotel.”

• Very comfortable bed and a good size room.
• very little space to hang clothes

“This hotel has a convenient location from which it was easy to get taxis to other parts of town. The food was excellent value and the service attentive and efficient, the choice at breakfast was also very good. The room had a comfortable double bed and the basic furniture allowed room to move around and still have space to sit at a desk. The en-suite facility lacked a bath but the shower was clean and worked well.”

• Misleading web site information about distance from the city centre Staff on reception not knowing a great deal about the local area

“I would have like to have known that the hotel was in the middle of a business park and had no facilities what so ever. Particularly as I was travelling alone”

• Very clean, very smart generally. quiet. Good parking is Key.
• I'm the colour of the water was off. Kind of yellow. Not encouraging when you are drinking/washing in it.

“Room was on the small side. possibly the smallest I've ever seen. Yes I think it was. I was distracted from this by the fact that the whole experience was very smart and clean. Would like more plug sockets for charging phones, PDA's etc. one is not enough. Also, difficult to fill kettle in bathroom. consider changing the tap fitting to one with more clearance. Bathroom too small, door difficult to get round when open for access.”

• excellent hotel for leisure traveller who wont be spending all their time in the room
• pity there was no bathtub. but excellent power shower.

“This is a new hotel(about a year old) just next to the SECC in Glasgow. only about '3.00 in a taxi to the city centre for shops and pubs.
The staff are friendly, and the rooms are clean but a bit small. We had several rooms booked and all found that the beds were very soft. I did not think that the restraunt was particularly good value for money (we left before ordering as they only had 1 thing available from the menu and it was still early!)and the cooked breakfast was a bit overdone, but maybe that is just a matter of taste.
overall I would stay there again without hesitation.”

• Restaurant did not have enough staff, and was not organised.

“The menu (for the evening meal)in the restaurant was limited, and did not have the item we wanted. With only 1 waitress, it took nearly 10 minutes before we were handed a menu, and another 5 minutes to discover that they no longer had the item we wanted.
Breakfast in the restaurant was dis-organised. There was no pointers as to how the patrons were sit and order - we did not give our room number at all during breakfast, and was asked at checking out-time if we had had breakfast. Other than the restaurant, the Hotel was fine for a quick overnight stay. Was near town (taxi cost '3 each way), and was easy to find.”

• bar could be open slightly later than 10.30

“The hotel was easy to find without having to travel into the centre of Glasgow. The room was basic but for what we paid we could not expect anymore. Staff were friendly and helpful. It is only a 5 minute journey into the centre of Glasgow and extremely handy if attending anything at the SECC.”

• New clean well run facility. Good resturant and bar. Helpfull attentive staff.
• European style rooms that are adequet but quite small. Smoking rooms and non smoking rooms seem to be mixed on the same floor.

“The Campanile Hotel in Glasgow is a small new purpose built facility in unusual area of the city. Unusual because it is not near the city centre and main train stations but is closer to conference and exibition facilities that are being promoted as an feature of Glasgow. If one is visitng as a tourist and using the trains as the main mode of travel, it is well to know that the main train stations are some distance away. City tour buses do however pass near by but this was not clear when we booked.”
