“The hotel is in a good fairly central location close to ammenities. Friendly helpfull staff aid your stay but work needs to be done on what is offered in the rooms.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Dec 16, 2004 by

“Overall the Nelson Hotel was very outdated. The decor was very old and our bathroom was outdated to the point of the plastic laminate on the sink cracking and peeling. We asked for a river view, which we got but only through very old net curtains and the room service breakfast was very poor considering the high price. Our particular room was a few doors away from the main lift, which, given its age, could be heard from our room whenever it was used. The leisure facilities, however, were very good although on the day we used them, the spa was out of order. I would not stay at the Nelson Hotel again purely because I could book a better hotel for a fraction of the price.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 24, 2004 by

“I have stayed in this hotel before so knew the level of service / accomodation I should expect. Oct 17, 2004 by

“The Hotel Nelson is centrally located with parking and a great bonus is the short walk into the city of Norwich. On arriving we found the exterior of the building rather office like, in fact it looks like the local tax office! However, appearances are deceptive and we were warmly welcomed at reception. The room was fine with television, en suite bathroom, tea and coffee (but no hot chocolate!) and a rather depressing view over the car park! The food in the formal restaurant was good but the atmosphere was dull due to the few people dining. There was also a bar serving hot food and snacks. Breakfast was fine, a good choice of hot and cold foods. Hotel Representatives:
