• Agree with other reviewers about plastic cups and, also, potential lack of heating/spare blankets

• Out of the 3 rooms rented, there was no TV and Heating working in one of the rooms, There was smoke smell and no spare blanklet.

“Staff were friendly, good breakfast available, however there seemed to be some lack of maintenance /checking of appliances not in working order.”

• The restaurant was very good and great value for money.
• The lights in the corridor were at a low level but we were'nt told this.

“When we were travelling along the A16 we panicked and took the first turning off which said Calais but it was junc 46, you must keep going until it says junc 43. Then you want to head right where you will see a roundabout, you will notice the hotel over on the left hand side but because it is on a small dual carriage way you have to go past the hotel to the next roundabout and then turn round. After checking in we headed down the dark corridor because we could not find any light switches, later my children found them at a very low level. If you are driving do not forget to get a GREEN CARD, i was not aware of this and i had a car crash, causing me to have to scrap my car. DO NoT forget all your car documents, log book, insurance and licence. It takes 30 mins to walk to the beach, 30 mins for the town and only about 5 mins to walk to the bus stop. The restaurant was really good value for money cheaper than other restaurants in the visinity. But if you want a well done steak, you must ask for it VERY well done, or it will arrive rare. If you turn the tv like my son did you might gain some more channels. The hotel staff were very friendly but i found a lot of the French were deliberately awkward. I would definately recommend the hotel.”

• LATE CHECKIN WAS NO PROBLEM AN THE STAFF SPOKE ENGLISH. VERY FRIENDLY
• NONE.

“IF YOU FOLLOW THE EUROTUNNEL SIGNS TO CALAIS CENTRE YOU WILL SEE THE HOTEL ON THE RIGHT JUST AFTER YOU PASS UNDER THE A16ON A ROUNDABOUT. SECURE PARKING. IE CAMERAS AND SIX FOOT FENCE. ALTHOUGH NOT NEEDED AS YOU ARE NOT IN ENGLAND.”

• Basic but very good value for money.
• No extra blankets on extremely cold weekend. No variety - desserts - no change - 2 years.

“Easy to find. Have stayed before, so knew what to expect. Everything reasonably priced. Staff very helpful. Assisted with poor French pronunciations without sarcasm, etc. Good location for all shops and main routes. Very good for short stays, otherwise small rooms, especially bathrooms, will make you claustrophobic. No real complaints though.”

• The warm, friendly attitude of the staff.

“We enjoyed our short stay here and would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking a comfortable stay without spending a lot of money. It is not the Savoy or the Ritz but the accomodation is more than adequate and the food is exceptional. The staff are helpful and friendly and you get the impression of a family run business that cares. We will use this hotel again.”

• Staff were excellent. Good breakfast. Convenient for Eurotunnel.
• Got lost finding the place - a better map would help.

“This hotel met its purpose perfectly - which was to have an overnight stay having got off the Eurotunnel shuttle before driving to the Alps - for a family of four. Not posh, but it didn't pretend to be. Very helpful staff. More than adequate connecting rooms. Good breakfast buffet.

The only downside was that we got lost finding the place.... but a helpful local got us there in the end.”

• Location, convenience, easy check in with 24 hour reception, value for money, friendly staff.
• Limited car parking on return journey, just missed the restaurant which closed at 21.00.

“A great location, conveniently situated close to the channel tunnel. Friendly and helpfull staff with a 24 hour reception. Simple and basic accommodation but clean with comfortable beds. Excellent value for money.”

“Good experience, having travelled and stayed in varous hotels I would rate this as one of the best ones I have used. I think that the only thing I would change are the plastic cups provide with the tea making facilities in the room.”

“Having stayed in a number of different hotels (at different prices)I can say that I was happy with the service that I received. I would like to point out that it would be nice to have a larger tea bag and milk allowance, although this seems to be a problem with the majority of hotels!!.

• Room would of been too small had we been staying longer, ok for 1/2 nights.

“Was disappointed that I did not receive a reply to my e-mail asking for confirmation on my special request but was pleased upon our arrival that they had. The hotel from the outside looked clean and looked after and was not disappointed to see that the inside was the same. Room was a little small but would go again when we visit freiends in France next time.”

• Clean and tidy. Staff friendly and enjoyed a joke!
• Directions for location were not up to date as the autoroute junction numbers had been changed.

“This is a good hotel. Everything from tea/coffee in rooms to a good value-for-money restaurant. It is easy to find; we got straight to it even though the junction numbers on the A16 had been altered! Warmth and friendliness from staff who also had good English. The room was clean and comfortable with an excellent view of the ElTphant Bleu!”

• Cleanliness, ease of access - location for supermarket shopping and on site parking.
• Very small area to sit and relax.As I am hard of hearing it wasn't possible to find a quiet corner to have a drink.Hard surfaces increase the noise level in public areas to an uncomfortable level.

• Convenient for city d'europe and other shops.
• The showerhead did not spray out that well. See below for directions changes.

• Shower due for renewal. Few more coat hangers. Hair dryer difficult to operate

“I would definately stay here again. WE have only two major problem with this and all French Hotels and Restaurants: Smoking and Animals, but only the former on this occasion. There seems to be no escape from this type of pollution”

• Room with two single beds, two male adults, beds very close together - needed a bit of rearranging.
