• was close to shops
• the breakfast was too expensive and room service charge was ridiculous, the bathroom should have been in better condition

“the hotel was a bit expensive and not worh the -u79 per night, the room service charge was absolutely ridiculous and breakfast was completely overpriced.I did expect the bathroom to be in better condition and the hotel to be more modern.I would recommend”

“I use this hotel very regularly and find it inconvenient that I have to register all my details every time.

Also, I wanted to eat dinner in the restaurant but was told that I would have to wait at least 30 minutes despite the fact that it did not appea”

• liked the spaciousness and cleanliness of the room
• Liked everything about the accommodation.

“After the initial annoyance of finding out that our online booking was not there, we enjoyed everything about the Hotel, apart from the prices of the meal in the diningroom and the continental breakfast. We have travelled a great deal and have had cheaper meals in better hotels. However, we are Scottish and you know what is said about Scottish people!.”

• EASY ACCESS FROM MOTORWAY, ALSO EASY TO REACH METRO CENTRE AND TOWN CENTRE, PUB, CLUBS AND RESTUARANT
• STAFFING OF BREKFAST ROOM AND BAR WAS VERY POOR.

“The hotels in its self was fair for the price paid, but the staffing on the reception was just adequate but within breakfast room and bar was not good.

Could do with either more staff and line management to ensure running of the business.”

• Nice clean room, friendly staff, location close to city centre.
• Hotel bar prices very expensive, breakfast/restaurant prices also vrey expensive.

“Apart from an overcharging mistake on departure, the hotel was nice and would go back to stay there again.”

• Friendly staff, reception staff in particular. Very informative.
• Food available in the hotel could have been better. Very basic and sometimes cold.

• Shower didn't work. An earlier repair had been atempted but had not been checked prior to our arrival

“Although expensive (especially with the cost of breakfast for two to be added, the room is a good size, the hotel is reasonably quiet for one close to roads etc, and it served our purpose well. Shame about the inadequate quality control of fittings. The broken shower was raised at check out but no discount or rebate was offered. it ought to have been.”

• Friendly Staff and nice surroundings also had a pool
• Accomodation was good throughout

“Nice Hotel with warm colour scheme very good food in Resturaunt. Bar food Ok. Has a pool a bit small but hygenic and clean. Room service is efficient and varied but not 24 hr. Location outside Newcastle and not much around the local area. Staff are friendly”

• Large room, comfortable beds.
• Swimming pool had no shallow end. Difficult walk from metro station to hotel.

“More difficult ot get to without a car as direction from train station not always clear. Pleasant bathroom and seperate toilet. The hotel was quiet. Bar prices were on the expensive side.”

• Friendly staff -clean room.
• Filthy changing rooms in the pool area. Very offputting.

“Generally good but I would not visit again simply because the changing room floors were filthy and had clearly not be cleaned for some time.The pool itself was tiny and the gym equipment was not particularly good.”

• Bland. Western Bypass (A1) very noisy. Kept us awake.

• Good leisure facilities, friendly staff.
• They could put families in same corridor rather than beside people Partying all night

“Facilities were good, but I think they could show some consideration and not put a large group of teenage girls out to celebrate all night long right beside a room with a 2 year old in it. Especially considering when I booked I was given a family room according to the site. This was, however my only complaint and was a Saturday night.”

• The size of the room and the good facilities available.
• The size of the bath and shower facilities.Difficult for someone of over six feet to stand up straight.

• The gym facilities

“The hotel was fine and the reduction in price from Active Hotels was very good. However, I selected this hotel on the basis that it had gym facilities and a pool. The pool was acceptable, but the 'gym' was 5 pieces of poorly functioning equipment at the side of the pool. If this had been clear I would not have chosen this hotel and I was very dissappointed. As a solo business traveller, use of gym facilities is an important priority for me.”

“Overall our stay was a very pleasant experience, food was plentiful & fairly priced; room was fine for our purpose. In fact the hotel turned out to offer more than we had anticipated.”
