“I would never recommend anyone to this hotel. The rooms stunk & were full of ants & other bugs. Very poor electrical and the entire place needs some serious renovation! Out of 12 people, 10 of us were sick while there. Phones didn't work. None of the staff speak enough English to get a across what you want. No swim up bar, very poor service at the so called beach bar, which is far from the beach. Very big disappointment staying at this hotel!” Aug 6, 2008 by

“This was not my ideal travel experience and I was most disheartened by the lack of cleanliness of the rooms. My sheets smelled like mildew and there was an insect infestation. Guest services was the least bit accommodating and the communication was not very effective as most employees spoke little or no English. The food was at best, okay. I must say the highlight of the trip were the excursions and even this was sketchy and disorganized for the most part. I feel as though money is the object there, with lack of service. I would rate the overall stay at a 5 out of 10 and would not recommend to anyone traveling to Punta Cana.” Mar 8, 2008 by

“Its so annoying to read some of these peoples reviews if you started of by thinking you were going into a 5 star north American hotel of course you will get disappointed and just be a cry baby and complain for your whole stay its a developing country and they offer the best of what they have. Next time plan a trip to Europe but don't put them down like that because they work from sun up until sun down sometimes without a break. The poor maids make 148.00 us dollars a month so sorry they not able to offer you the world. Get over it. Winners!” Jan 22, 2008 by

“You people will complain way too much! You are in a developing country, newsflash: its not goanna be like a 5 star here! A vacation is what you make of it! This place was perfection! You can visit the adjoining hotels and use their facilities, so you never get bored! There's tons to do the entertainment staff was so much fun! Dance lessons, evening shows just great! You have like 8 restaurants to choose from. Yea the food is not spectacular but with people like you guys complaining about everything (too spicy, to this too that) and catering to people all around the world what do you expect! The hotel staff was so-so friendly and accommodating! Always a smile and you felt so safe. It was great! We had one situation with a man making comments to us (we were three 25 yr old girls) that we just made a passing comment to a staff member there, and he reprimanded the guy right away! The excursions are great! Especially the Jeep Safari Tour! GO-GO-GO! Barceló Caribe is what a holiday should be like. “Rooms small, towels were not good either. They changed me from one room to another. Sitting on the toilet water was dripping on you from the second floor A/C on the second room water was dripping over the sink just the same crap. You guys never turned our money in and they had no information of us at all, you gave our money to another travel agency that never reported our reservation, I will never do business with you and I will tell this story to all of my friends, one week In Punta Cana and the first 3 days we spent fighting with the main desk, because they would not give us a room unless we paid them.” Aug 29, 2007 by

“We were unable to get a room for four hours after we had arrived from the airport from a long flight. They told us we need to talk to the manager to take care of the situation, they kept telling the manager would be there the following day, not till 3 days later did he show up. They wanted to take my credit card again and I hesitated at first because I did not want to be billed twice, but at the end I did so in order to have a place to stay.” Feb 19, 2007 by

“I liked the resort overall. no real complaints. Beach right there, pool and bar area close by. Rooms were cleaned to my satisfaction. Buffet foods tended to be the same each day but lots to choose from. I noticed if you tipped your bartender once in awhile your drinks were better (remember to tip, it goes a long way) be it room service or bar. The grounds were well maintained. But the beach was littered by tourists leaving plastic cups and sticking straws into the sand (not hotels fault). I noticed this was done mostly by the younger clientele (students coming down during mid term break).” Hotel Representatives:
