• Great location, clean comfortable room and very helpful staff.

“Hotel is 5 minutes walk from the Zurich main station (Zurich HB), with trains to and from the Airport very frequently. It is close to shopping and restaurants, but is removed enough to be quiet. I stayed in the North tower, next to the tram line, but it really was not loud at all (as opposed to what some of the reviews stated).”

• Very attentive staff in lobby.
• Out of the way location.

“While the hotel was a little out of the way, it was very close to the Train station which made getting around fairly easy. The hotel lobby staff was very helpful and attentive. While the main hotel tower has been recently updated, guests are put in the rear of the hotel where the rooms, while very comfortable have not been updated. For the price, it was a good value, a little more removed than other hotels, but Zurich is a walk able city. If you don't like to walk there is a tram that runs right next to the hotel.”

• Nice location, close to the main train station.
• Slightly old public areas; lobby quite small.

“However, nice the hotel, you get the less wanted rooms. For example, I stayed at the Marriot in Copenhagen, three times. One side of the hotel faces construction and the other side, a water way. Needless to say, I stayed in a room with a view of mechanical cranes.”

• For an European hotel, very generous with amenities and luxurious bedding.
• No dislikes.

• Clean, comfortable beds, amenities in room were great.
• As soon as the staff saw the rate that I paid their attitude changed - not in a good way.

“Conveniently located to the train station and airport (halfway between both) the rooms were very spacious and comfortable. I especially liked the coffee and tea selection - it made me feel like I was at home, to be able to make a hot cup of tea and go to bed. The bathroom toiletries could have been a little better. But overall I was extremely pleased with the room itself. The staff at the front desk was friendly until they looked up my reservation- the attitude changed slightly, but enough that I noticed It.”

• The room was huge for Zurich.
• The public areas were a maze.

“Great value for the money. Room was huge for Zurich standards. The hotel definitely had a chain feel due to its massive size and American style, but a high end chain nonetheless. And the Thai restaurant is amazing in the hotel!”

• Hotel is clean, and spacious.
• No close subway station nearby.

“Marriott Zurich has new and old rooms. So it really depends on which one u get. We stayed for twice, the first two nights, we were in the newly remodeled rooms, and they are excellent. The second time, we got the old one, not as fancy as the new one, especially for the bathroom. But overall quality of the room is above standard, however, the downside of it is the local transportation, we have to walk every day for 10mins to the main train station and as well as the local transportation.”

• It is near to the airport and railway station.
• No good restaurants/shops nearby.

“It is a good hotel for leisure travelers as it is near the railway station. The river nearby makes a romantic stroll in the evening but the location is quiet and far from other activity.”

• Rude front desk staff. Check-in was awful.

“We requested a non-smoking room with a king size bed. The first room they gave us had someone else's stuff in it. The 2nd had twin size beds. The 3rd was definitely a smoking room. Then they were very rude and said that there was nothing they could do. We went to have dinner and came back. They gave us the original room that we had looked at- they just cleaned out the stuff that was in there. That said, it was a very nice remodeled room and bathroom, with a very comfortable king-size bed.”

• Great location, all amenities as expected, wifi is expensive 35chf per 24 hours.

“Located on the 35th floor with a view of the river this hotel was able to provide comfort for me the weary traveler. Train travel is not very luxurious and tiring. Not only did I find the hotel excellent the staff went out of their way to be courteous and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel.”

• Hotel is in a good location, close to Zurich main station. Staff were polite and friendly.
• Internet access is expensive.

“The Zurich Marriott is located within a ten minute walk from the main train station in Zurich. they also have a shuttle bus for a fee to the airport. Staff were friendly and helpful. Internet access for business travelers is around 25 dollars per day. Us based travelers are not used to paying this kind of fee for internet access.”

• Charging $29/day for Wi-fi is outrageous.

“Excellent location, very clean & comfortable. However, parking at $31/night and wi-fi at $29/day is outrageous. Wi-fi access should be included in the nightly rate. I'd rather have free Wi-fi than have free TV. English TV is limited to CNN, BBC and Discovery but has channels in French, German, Italian and Arabic. Asian restaurant was O.K. & expensive; Lobby lounge bar was good.”

• The location is perfect for visiting the historic section of city.
• Other side of hotel location in city is very drab.

• The bed was extremely comfortable and the staffs were very accommodating.
• Their internet connection service and plan were less than ideal.

“This was our second visit to this hotel, and was much more pleasant. We received a room in the newer tower, which was much more quiet, newer and less sterile looking than the rooms in the main building. I loved it and would highly recommend this hotel.”

• Conveniently located near to the main train station and tram lines.
• Cost of internet and breakfast options were very expensive. The shower was very cramped and uncomfortable.

“This four-star hotel is conveniently located near the main train station in Zurich. Our room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom itself was fine, but the shower was cramped and uncomfortable. Toiletries provided by the hotel were on par with a four-star hotel. Taxis were always waiting outside the hotel when we came in and out. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel due to the outrageous price. Seems a good hotel for business travelers and perhaps a shopping weekend in the city.”

• Located in financial district rather than shopping or cultural.

“We had a wonderful stay at the Zurich Marriott. We were able to check into our rooms early (10 am), the facilities were very nice, and it was quite convenient to the Old Town and shopping area. My husband forgot his boots in the closet and the Marriott staff immediately responded to our query and have shipped the boots back home to us without any hassle at all. I would definitely stay there again.”

• Convenient, excellent views, modern and well-maintained.
• A bit isolated from attractions, odd-shaped room.

“The Marriott is convenient to the main train station with excellent airport connections. One of the tallest buildings in Zürich give rooms a splendid view over the city. It is in a quiet area along the river. After you think you've paid your whole bill ahead, they add on a city tax and charge for it. The hotel is more American than European in character so don't choose it for a Swiss experience. But it is a fine place and one that I'd love to go to again.”

• Bathroom poor in quality but clean.

“it is a short walk from main station and public transport. nice walk through a park. based on an higher floor we had a fabulous view over the city with lake and alps in the background. traffic noise with open window. poor quality of the bathroom, but everything clean. More for business than leisure traveler.”

• The hotel was very "American" like. Large rooms and very clean. Within walking distance from the train station and center of city.

“I thought the hotel was very nice. We got a great buy. I wouldn't pay regular prices for this hotel. We left for 3hrs so that they could get the room ready but left our luggage in the lobby. No one took it to the room. We had to doit ourselves. They also gave us the wrong room number. It took a while to straighten things out. The hotel was quiet,clean and close to everything we wanted to see.”
