“Very nice historic type hotel. The staff was friendly and our room was nice. Interesting part of town with revamped buildings and a nice history. The Cotton mill restaurant was great all the way around, food, service and atmosphere. Overall a really pleasant stay and a place to revisit.” Feb 19, 2009 by
Rhonda from Cary,NC
“Brookstown Inn has an excellent, safe and easy to find location. I was impressed by the large room size and extremely comfortable bed and pillows. It is located in Old Salem and is in walking distance to many tourist areas as well as Salem College.” Dec 15, 2008 by
Larry J from Charleston, SC
“A quaint hotel with a lot of history and character. Large rooms and a lot of wood and brick remind you how this place has lasted from 1800. The onsite restaurant called The Cotton Mill was outstanding. Best food I have had outside of Charleston bar none. Cotton Mill is independently owned and the restaurant staff was very friendly and service oriented, but the same could not be said of the front desk of the hotel. They were indifferent and only spoke when spoken to. Great look to the place and awesome food in the restaurant, so I will definitely stay again.” Dec 1, 2008 by

“Stayed here before and generally was pleased. Ordered an executive king suite and payed plenty of extra money for this trip. Was placed in normal suite and did not get any money back.” Jun 4, 2008 by

“I really liked it because it was a cotton mill and it was cozy. The dining room was very nice and their breakfasts were the best I have ever seen in a hotel.” May 2, 2008 by

“This restored textile mills retains an old-world Moravian charm while providing a reasonable array of upscale services. Exposed beams and high ceilings make for an attractive and unique experience. The hotel is within walking distance of old Salem and Downtown businesses.” Apr 4, 2008 by

“Huge room, comfortable beds and very friendly staff. Was pleasantly surprised at the Nautilus equipment in the fitness room. Very charming decor with lots of exposed wood and brick. Very close to North Carolina School of the Arts. Will most definitely return when visiting daughter who will attend NCARTS.” Mar 18, 2008 by
Lisa from Charlotte, NC
“The hotel is excellent and location is great and parking is ample.” Feb 20, 2008 by
Claudia from Wilson, NC
“The building was a renovated textile mill. The architecture was very interesting. The staff at the front desk was knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. The continental breakfast was very good as was the wine and cheese reception. Be sure to eat dinner at the Cotton Mill, the hotel's attached restaurant; food is fabulous and service is top of the line. Across the brick courtyard is Winston Salem's visitor center. You must stop in there and talk to the staff and eat Moravian cookies!” Feb 12, 2008 by
John from Las Vegas, NV
“Our room (king) was enormous and had a wonderful feeling of history with the brick walls, 15-20 foot ceilings and quilt on the bed. The bath was a little disappointing in terms of luxury but was clean and functional. The breakfast was very good but not impressive. I would heartily recommend this hotel.” Feb 7, 2008 by

“Brookstown Inn was awesome for our needs; a getaway weekend without the kids. Historic, well maintained, good European breakfast and local wines and cheeses comp'd at night. Close to vibrant downtown. Great restaurants in the hotel and nearby. Wish we were there again right now.” Dec 17, 2007 by
Cheri from Richmond, VA
“The Brookstown Inn was conveniently located close to old Salem. We checked in and never had to move our car until we checked out. All tourist attractions, restaurants and shops were within walking distance of the hotel. The wine and cheese reception was very welcoming and the chocolate chip cookies and milk at bedtime was very comforting.” Sep 3, 2007 by

“Good value. Great rooms and public areas. All told a good deal.” Hotel Representatives:
