• New, bright and clean and very close to the Metro station.
• Area around hotel somewhat deserted on weekends, but not far from some attractions.

“Great rooms and staff. This hotel appears almost brand new. The beds are quite comfortable and the rooms are well appointed for this class of hotel. The lobby is nice and even though there was a function going on the weekend I was there, the rooms were very quiet. The only downside is the charge for internet - when will these full service hotels ever get this and the charge to login/print in the business center. There is a full service Starbucks in the lobby, which is nice too.”

“I was very surprised after reading other comments on line I was so very worried about this place, all I can say is I found it nice, clean and most of all for someone like me who has never traveled like this before the A1 response of thier workers made me feel relaxed I give their front staff a big thank you they made my vacation enjoyable and not so scary which is a big thing for me because I suffer from social panic attacks.”

• The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. Located close to all DC attractions.
• Few dining options nearby, other than pricey, formal restaurants.

• The location was excellent.
• The only complaint I had was with room service and they took a bit of time to remedy that.

“Even though the hotel was undergoing renovations you could hardly notice as the renovators were quick, efficient and clean. I don't think I saw a bit of dust from the sanding and other activities that were going on. The staff was excellent and I loved the room particularly the deep fluffy bed.”

• Location was excellent. Proximity to metro station was very convenient.
• Lack of a minibar/refrigerator in the room and the $35/day for parking a vehicle.

“This is a great hotel for families to stay at while visiting DC. The best feature is the proximity to the metro station. Also having a refrigerator and microwave in the room would have been a welcome addition.”

• The helpful, friendly, eager to please attitude of all the staff members. Close to metro.
• The beds were slightly uncomfortable.

“I would definitely stay at this hotel again. It was conveniently located for my needs (leisure travel) and close to shopping, dining and the metro, which made sightseeing easier. The price was unbeatable through priceline. Breakfast buffet for kids 4.95.”

• The location was excellent. Walking distance to major DC attractions; metro at front door. Nice meal at restaurant for dinner.
• The hot tub had so much chemical to be almost unusable. Uninviting.

“We were very pleased with the hotel in general. Laptop was used only an hour or so a day, and generally to seek out restaurants or attractions, we did this because the concierge desk was not always as helpful as we had hoped. We found the bellmen more knowledgeable. Having said that, I'd stay there again because although the room seemed to be a bit cramped, the beds and toiletries were top notch and the location could not be better.”

• Amazing downtown view and
  central location!
• The radio next to the bed could have been a CD player.

“The hotel was simply wonderful. The staff was beyond helpful in helping me get to where I needed to be. It was in a perfect downtown location. The room was clean, well laid out, quite, flat screen TV, plus one of the most comfortable beds I think I ever slept in. The restaurant food was very nice as well. I would love to stay at this hotel again.”

• Great location, friendly staff, awesome gym!
• Small rooms, no microwave or fridge.

“We really enjoyed our stay here. The gym equipment was top notch, and the kids enjoyed the pool. The pool sign says it is salt water, but it had a very strong chlorine smell, so who knows? The location can't be beat, walk to the Smithsonian and Chinatown, too. The rooms are small but clean and the bed was ultra comfy. Wish they had a microwave and mini fridge, but still a great place!”

“Older hotel. Not up to the standards of a normal Marriot. The mattress was old, and had been covered over with an oversize mattress pad that didn't fit properly. The room was not ventilated at all, and had a musty smell to it.”

• Shower was broken, construction started at 8:45 am on Saturday.

“The staff here was terrible. They made no attempt to find us another room when we called to say the shower was broken. Then they gave someone else a key to our room. Needless to say, everyone was surprised when he walked in and we were still in bed. And then construction started outside the room on a Saturday morning at 8:45 am.”

  shuttle service.

“The hotel is very nice and is located right in the heart of downtown within walking distance of the White House and the Washington Convention Center, etc. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It did not, however, provide mini fridges or microwaves and the TV was difficult to operate, plus the first night we could only take lukewarm baths because when you tried to take a shower it was freezing. It also did not have any free parking or shuttle service. Also, no complimentary breakfast.”

• The staff were wonderful and so helpful. Also, the room was very romantic.
• They did not offer free wireless internet in the rooms. You had to pay 12.95 to access the internet. It should be standard now.

• I wish the hotel was a few blocks closer to the museums.

• My room was extremely clean, almost like new, which is of the highest priority whenever I am traveling.
• The parking rates were ridiculous.

“If cleanliness is super important to you, this is the hotel for you. My room was great. With shopping directly across the street. Better valet parking rates, the rates were outrageously high. Find cheaper parking and spend that money shopping.”

“Clean, but not deluxe accommodations. No microwave, no coffeemaker and only one coin-operated washer and dryer for the entire hotel, hidden in the exercise room. Wireless Internet is not free. Few restaurants within walking distance, but right next to the Convention Center if that's important to you.”

• The restaurant staff/food/service was not super and was the only meal we had on our trip, so it was extra disappointing.
