• Excellent customer service, exceptional staff.
• WiFi only available in concierge level lounge.

“Enjoyable stay. Room was clean and bright. Great view. Excellent location for sight seeing, only few blocks from the metro. Did not eat at the restaurant, it was a bit expensive (as to be expected). Exceptional staff.”

• The staff, the atmosphere, and the location were great.
• Washington D.C. does not provide the best views.

“The hotel was great with a great staff. All of the facilities were wonderful. I really liked the coffee shop. I seem to be one of those people who likes that cup in the morning to get going, and it does not hurt to have that smile to greet you.”

• Wonderful bed with great pillows.
• Jacuzzi did not work well. Front desk could be friendlier.

“I did not like the lobby lay out since you could not tell where the dining room was. The bed was wonderful and comfortable with many pillows. A small refrigerator would have been nice. I had to make two requests to get my room cleaned. Excellent breakfast buffet with numerous items to choose from.”

• There was construction on the floor we were staying.

“My husband and I have stayed there twice. This time I was not too happy on the floor we were given our room because there was construction there and everything looked like a hurricane had just passed through. It was cleaned later on but I think we could've been given a room on a different floor so that we didn't have to experience that. Also there is only one elevator at one end of the hotel and we are always given a room on the other end. It takes a long walk to get to the elevator. I'm not quite comfortable with that because if we need to get out fast it would be impossible.”

• The staff in the lobby was so nice to my children that it really impressed me.
• The bartender on Monday night 8/25 didn't make me feel like I was welcome to sit and watch the DNC even though I ordered something from the bar.

“We had a wonderful time at the Washington Marriot. The hotel staff went out of there way to be kind and considerate of my children and this was very appreciated. The only time that I didn't feel completely comfortable at this hotel was when I ordered a sparkling water from the bar so that I could watch Michelle Obama's speech at the DNC without keeping my children awake by watching it in my room. He made me feel like it was time to go and it was not even 11:00 PM.”

“The Washington Marriott is in an excellent location. After a long day of sight-seeing, we would go out for walks in the neighborhood or a short jaunt to Georgetown. There are also many types of restaurants within walking distance. The staff was always helpful and attentive to our needs.”

• The hotel had a great breakfast buffet for $15 and was a great location.
• The indoor pool was small and filled with salt water and the hot tub had bubble scum on it.

“This hotel was in a great location and within walking distance to the DC Circulator bus. The hotel's maid service was honest as we discovered the $20 bill that my son lost was placed on the night stand and not pocketed. The breakfast buffet was very good!”

• The room wasn't ready before 5 PM, and not very clean (bathroom) when we finally get it.

• The most comfy bed Ive ever in my life slept in :).
• The lobby is quite boring.

“I would definitely recommend this hotel. Also stayed at hotel Palomar down the street which is a lot fussier than and just not as nice as the Marriott? Such a comfy room here with lots of space and good proximity to Georgetown. Really liked this hotel.”

“It was a huge savings. The room was nice and spacious and I found the staff to be helpful and friendly. My only complaint is that the hotel is not too close to Subway stops which can prove important late at night and other peak times of the day.”

“The hotel was located close to my destination, but the bed was uncomfortable. Room service arrived with missing items and I was disappointed that a continental breakfast was not included. Everything was not expensive.”

• The hotel felt very upscale.
• Parking, WiFi and breakfast were additional charges.

“The Washington Marriott is a beautiful hotel with comfortable rooms and great staff, but beware of all the extra charges! Beware of the $27 a day parking fee, $10 a day wireless use fee and expect to pay a minimum of $13 for breakfast at the hotel restaurant. All of the additional fees make the Marriott a lot more expensive than it first appears.”

• The hotel was nicely located. It is within a 5 min. walk to the Metro and there is a Walgreens right next door if you forget anything.
• None.

“The hotel is nicely located within a 5 min. walk to the Metro. You can also take a nice 15 min. stroll to Georgetown, where there are plenty of restaurants. Our room was clean, roomy and the bed was very comfortable. Our room was close to the elevator, ice machine and the hotel service area. I was afraid that it would be very noisy since I am a light sleeper. However, any noise you hear is muffled and the room was quiet. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel.”

• Accessible to metro, child friendly - long hours at pool, reasonable and prompt room service, children's menu in restaurant, and friendly staff.
• Service in dining room was slow and somewhat inattentive on second night - must have been a staffing issue, fine the first time.

“I would absolutely stay here again - family friendly and easy 3 block walk to metro. Cabs ready at hotel door at all times, knowledgeable concierge as would be expected, 24 hour drug store next store and local dining / amenities easily accessible on foot (we did not have a car in DC by choice). Staff went out of their way to take the time to visit with my chatty six year old twins. Very enjoyable family experience. Thank you!”

• The quality of the rooms was sub par to what we were expecting.

“It was a fine stay, but will probably not return. If one had to stay there, it might be fine, but I would be interested to try other hotels in the area in future trips to Washington, DC.”

“Great location near Georgetown; within a ten block walking distance. Good for urban hikes in a safe area. Lots of boutiques in the Georgetown that are fun to browse in. Assortment of different eateries and restaurants from Vietnamese, Italian, to Ethiopian.”

• The beds were very comfortable fitness center is very nice!
• 4 blocks from any Metro stop made a cab necessary during nighttime hours.

“Very nice hotel. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean. Bed linens were very nice, however pillows were too small. Parking is steep at $26.00/day but this is DC. Metro is 4 blocks away to Foggy Bottom or Dupont Circle, so it was necessary to take taxis after dark from some neighborhoods. Walking from Georgetown was pleasant and felt safe, even at night. Recommend a taxi from Dupont Circle at night. Fitness center was especially nice, even provided complimentary fruit and bottled water. Overall, a great stay.”

• The rooms were pretty gorgeous, bed was super comfy.
• They need to clean better!

“I found a bottle of sweet licks cherry warming lubricant right by the bed! What if I were traveling with children, that would be awful if they found it and touched it. I picked it up with a napkin, thoroughly disgusted. I'm not the type who makes a scene, but I really wanted to call down to management and say something. I could have probably gotten the room for free. There was also a full pack of cigarettes. What in the world?”

• The mirrors in bathroom 502 made shaving difficult because of the angle.

• Staff personality as a whole was fantastic!
• Underground parking a tight squeeze.

“Situated a few blocks from the main shops and restaurants of Georgetown, this Marriott exceeds expectations. The front desk staff greeted us with a great sense of humor, welcome after a long set of flights. We were placed on the Concierge Level, which included an a typical Continental breakfast, scrambled eggs, bacon, along with the usual suspects. While we didn't have the opportunity to use all of the features, we would definitely recommend this hotel for DC business travelers as well as those who wish to be walking distance to Georgetown's leisure amenities.”

“The Hotel was nice, clean, front desk staff was friendly. The concierge sent us to the wrong metro stop. She sent us to Dupont Circle when Foggy Bottom was much closer. Our room was large and comfortable. Overall this was a great hotel.”

• Hotel staff was extremely helpful, made us feel right at home.
• No free internet access. WiFi or dial up.

“The neighborhood feels safe. It is a short walk with no hills to the nearest metro stop. The restaurant had excellent food but a minimal selection. My only complaint would be that the hotel should offer free WiFi. I have stayed at lower-end hotels that offered free WiFi and was shocked that this hotel did not. This would be extremely inconvenient for any business traveler.”

• It's attractive and right in the heart of DC.
• They took my breakfast order tin the evening and lost it before morning throwing most of my day off schedule.

“Losing my breakfast order was the clincher. Then as an added bonus, the auto checkout wouldn't work so I got to wait behind a gaggle of tourists to check out.”

• This hotel has an incredibly attentive staff. The location is excellent and for the price, a great value.
• This hotel is old and its time for a rehab.

“Great location, great value, great staff. The basics are all here and you cannot beat the location in what has become a "New York" priced market, Washington, DC. Minutes from the heart of downtown and Georgetown and easy to find for anyone, this Marriott has strengths that few properties can match in DC. Parking is a nightmare in this neighborhood for everyone and you just need to budget for the nearly $30 a night parking, though on weekends street parking is free but hard to find. An attentive staff comped me a room for my daughter when we arrived late and all the rollaway beds were gone. This kind of service and attention more than made up for the smaller rooms, older conditions and small lobby and public areas. There is a great little lobby meeting room area right next to the restaurant which I was able to use for several hours for some interviews and meetings. Though not completely private, it perfectly fit the bill for an impromptu business meeting I had while on what was a pleasure and family trip.”
