• Close to Subway station, very safe area (Embassy row), close to stores and restaurant.
• Broken bathroom door handle. The bottled water provided in the bathroom is not free ($5.00 per bottle). No parking, only valet parking ($30.00).

“Very clean and friendly staff. Very close to the Dupont Circle Subway station (3 blocks). Also close to a CVS drug store (2 blocks), a Whole Food grocery store (2 blocks), book stores (3-4 blocks) and many restaurants (4-5 blocks).”

• Hotel manager was very helpful at 1 am in the morning when we arrived.
• The room did have a sort of musty smell.

• The hotel was very attractive inside and out.
• The hotel is not conveniently located near the metro.

“This hotel is great, but expect to walk around 4-.5 miles to the nearest metro. If you are looking to travel a lot by metro, I would not recommend this hotel. However if you are mainly touring the white house/downtown area, this hotel is perfect for you. As with most D.C. hotels, this hotel is very clean and luxurious.”

• The front desk staff was great.
• The foreign speaking concierge gave me wrong directions.

“Bring your own maps and directions for all your travel needs. Don't bring leftovers back to the room because there are no refrigerators. The beds were fantastic!”

• The beds were very comfortable.
• It was a bit far from public transportation, but still reasonable.

“Overall it was very nice - warm cookies on check-in, the clerk remembered my name when I returned on the first day. I didn't bring a laptop but there was computer and internet access for hotel guests. The coffee pot hadn't been cleaned, and the bathroom was a bit small, but otherwise it was great and I would stay there again.”

• The room was very comfortable, staff was very friendly.
• Bathroom was very small, but we were able to work around it.

“Overall the hotel is okay for the price, but the hall smelled like smoke. The bathroom is really, really small. It is about a 10 min walk to the metro. Warm cookies were nice at check in; I wish we had them every night.”

• Poor quality room service, all electric outlets in the room were broken!

“I had higher expectations of Doubletree Hotel, since it is a Hilton Hotel. However, this Doubletree appeared of lesser quality. The rooms were older, electric outlets broken, our coffee maker was also broken, but was replaced on request. It just appeared that there was less attention to quality, in this hotel. However, the hotel front desk staff was very gracious and helpful.”

• The staff was very pleasant and informative. Free business center. Excellent location. Comfortable beds. AM newspaper at door.
• Free TV was available but very limited. No fridge in room. Ice machine on every other floor.

“We were very pleased with the price value received. Our pre-arrival phone call requesting a quiet room with 2 beds was fulfilled. Our expectations were exceeded.”

“Overall, the hotel is very clean and has a friendly atmosphere. The beds are memory foam and are very comfortable. The location is not bad but if you have young kids or not in shape for long walk then you will need to take a shuttle or taxi to see the sites.”

“The hotel was perfect. It is only a mile from the Whitehouse with many restaurants and bars close by. The staff was courteous and made the stay very easy and enjoyable. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.”

“This was a great hotel that was near everything. It was clean and the staff real nice and helpful. I really liked the free cookies. The smell of fresh baked cookies gave the hotel a homey feeling.”

• Staff not knowledgeable, no pool onsite, few channels, no family friendly menu, pay for water, pay for WiFi.

“Overall, this is a nice hotel as far as room & lobby decor. The staff wasn't able to provide complete, accurate information regarding menu, directions, ticket sales, providing replacement newspaper, etc. The management staff was very helpful and accommodating. This hotel is definitely not family friendly. Also, not great for business travelers as in-room WiFi is extra. The cookies were good, but it would have been great if they were provided every evening. The huge valet parking fee was unexpected and unwarranted.”

• The location and staff was great, loved the warm cookie.
• My original room had roaches, the bathroom didn't have a fan.

“The hotel had a great location and looked very nice. The staff was helpful. The restaurant prices were a little high for eggs and hash browns. The bathrooms are kind of cramped with no fan. The hotel was clean and the room didn't smell dusty. The beds were super comfortable and the pillows were great.”

“Very nice hotel. The room I was in was compact, but comfortable and clean. The only problem was that I had to drive around for about an hour to find a place to park my car because the hotel's parking lot was full.”

• Small room and very small bathroom, double beds instead of queen bed.

“Hotel was nicely appointed, great location, very friendly staff and the warm cookies upon arrival were a delicious treat! Would have liked free in-room Wi-Fi and larger, more comfortable beds. The one negative, was the extremely small bathroom!”

• Metro a bit too far to walk to in bad weather, and towels were rough.

“Good Doubletree quality- comfortable beds, Neutrogena bath products, warm cookie upon check-in! This particular hotel, however, had poor quality bath towels. Other than that, only problem was poor adult movie selection - especially for gay travelers!”

“We had a very good experience. What could be better than being handed warm cookies upon check-in? Hotel is walking distance to the White House and national monuments. After a long day we sank into the wonderfully comfortable bed, with nice linens. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back.”

• The check in was expedient and the furnishings and bedding were extremely comfortable.
• The size of the bathroom was so small that it was just barely adequate for a small person and is just too small.

“My stay at Doubletree property, for a business meeting, met my expectations for a business friendly location and atmosphere. The decor was upscale and modern and the hotel's small lobby area was nicely furnished and comfortable. Its location on Rhode Island Avenue was convenient to the locate dining options and the metro. I ate at the upscale restaurant which was quite good (I had a nicely prepared swordfish) and the service was good. My only small issue was the small bathroom which barely gave me room to turn around. I am a petite size 6 female.”
