• It was adequate with great bed and nice balcony and view.
• The TV location and the narrowness, shape of the room.

“Good but not great, pool was ok, staff was adequate but not great, housekeeping was annoying and was in and around our room in hallway too much with their bulky carts and dirty towels laying in the hall etc. We enjoyed our romantic getaway, but there were some drawbacks. Also, the outdoor bar/restaurant was ridiculously priced with no happy hour.”

• The beach access and the restaurant are wonderful.
• Have to wait for a long time to check in.

“Walk to the beach right from your room and then have a drink on the entrance of the beach, how wonderful! Don't forget to go to the spinner to have the dinner.”

• Beautiful view of ocean and sunsets.
• Bathrooms was dated and dingy.

“The hotel was a bit dated. I was very disappointed. I expected to be able to just walk out onto the beach. What they really meant was direct view of the beach. We were located on the 5th floor and the elevators took a long time both up and down.”

• The location.
• No pool towels; tile flooring throughout the building and rooms which made it loud. Room size was tiny.

“The rooms here are extremely small. The flooring including halls and rooms are tile so you can here people speaking and their echoes as far as the opposite end of the hall. There were no towels for the pool either day of our stay. This is an old Holiday Inn and it looks like it in every way.”

• The view from the restaurant was great. Good poolside drinks.
• Sunset view was totally obstructed with palm trees. Dry mahi sandwich in restaurant.

“Great location. Nice beach. Poolside drinks very good. View from revolving top floor restaurant beautiful, meal disappointing. My mahi sandwich was very dry. Restaurant next door was much better to eat at. Beautiful sunsets. Relaxing!”

• Excellent location on a magnificent beach.
• Vile coffee. Pool chaises had no cushions. No beach chairs.

“Chosen for excellent location right on the beach, which did not disappoint, but facility needs a decor update. Staff ok but not totally on the ball. They "were too busy " to call us as promised when our room was ready for check-in. Then they locked us out after they promised us a late check-out, because they" forgot to tell us that we had to remind them not to disconnect our keys".”

• Location on beach and near stores, restaurants. Staff friendly.
• Floor dirty in penthouse/Had to call 2x for (4) light bulbs, trash under bar sink no entertainment except beach bar music.

“Ideal location near fine dining and shops. Views from rooms above average. Pool area nice and very close to beach. Phone at front desk answered in timely manner and staff friendly. Despite being bumped to Penthouse, room was not really ready. (4) light bulbs out, trash under bar sink, floor dirty, remote for bedroom TV. missing, A/C was loud and worked hard to cool. Imagine room would be very hot in spring season facing west. Although entertainment was advertised, the upstairs Spinners were empty and I could not even get a drink at midnight. Public restrooms clean but the remodeled penthouse bathroom was cheesy, with wall paper peeling. The Toilet tissue boxed area fell down when I went to dispense. There were several weddings on the beach and receptions and often the elevators were crowded with wait staff and carts. I would stay again but never at half the suggested retail printed on the door and would avoid the dining except for a casual fish sandwich.”

• Bathroom electricity goes off, TV reception terrible. No HBO, computer reception bad. Only 2 elevators.

• It was right on the beach, and the views from our room were excellent.
• It was all good.

“This was the first time my wife and I had been to St. Pete Beach, and it couldn't have been any better. They offered live music in the beach bar, and I was aware that security was present in the lobby, which for us was a plus. The surrounding area has lots of interesting things to do. Pass-a-Grille and Tampa's pier were the best ever.”

• Right on the beach, 2nd bed was a Murphy bed.
• Restaurant on top of hotel smelled a little musty.

“Rooms were clean and bright. all had balconies. Heated pool really was heated. 2nd bed was a Murphy bed instead of a fold out so mattress was firmer and when folded into the wall the base became a couch with a lot of walking space in front of it. Smoking was only allowed on balconies so there wasn't any cigarette odor anywhere. We arrived in a rainstorm and the hotel had covered parking which was also great.”

• Hotel was tired. Pool area was mediocre. High end restaurant was terrible.

“Average older hotel with better than average service. Casual dining was good but the service and the food at the revolving restaurant was a very poor experience.”

• The hotel was located directly on the beach. The beds were very comfortable.
• There is a beach bar next door and the music lasted late into the night.

“Our room had been nicely renovated and the bed was very comfortable. Our room was large and clean. The location was wonderful. We would consider going back again. We did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food.”

• Lobby smelt like dirty diapers; bed linen did not fit bed.

“The staff was unprofessional. Smoked in public places/looks sloppy and is nasty, front desk took phone calls instead of helping live guests, front desk acted troubled when you asked them anything, room was full of furniture, bed linen did not fit bed, bed slanted to one side (room708), lobby smelt like dirty diapers, hair in bathroom that was not ours, room AC never cooled room, bathroom renovation was cheaply done and therefore the bathroom looked dirty all the time, garage was dirty (untidy) looking, did enjoy the beach-side entertainment on the weekends.”

• Decent wireless throughout.
• Both restaurants are poor and it's an unattractive hotel with a 1975ish look.

“Hotel is a good location and decent stay for price. I would have been upset if it was even $15 dollars more per night. The face lift was a paint job. Very noisy hotel. Can hear people walking in hallways and traffic outside. Staff not well trained and they talk loud and often inappropriately. They actually glued fist sized rocks over the entire exterior. The elevators are shaky and the rotating restaurant spins with bumps and reveals how poor condition of the penthouse rooftop.”

“The guests that stayed at this hotel we running he halls, throwing things off the balconies, knocking on our door at all hours. The nights we were unable to sleep! We did not enjoy ourselves for the money we paid! I will not go to this hotel again!”

• Great location on beach revolving restaurant on top floor.
• Room dirty, stains on furniture, extra charge for beach chair and to print boarding passes.

“Great location and views for the price. Small rooms with metal doors which had to be slammed in order to shut and thin walls made for noisy environment. Beautiful view from revolving restaurant on top floor, but food quality poor. Lots of extra charges for items usually free at other hotels, e.g. Beach chair rentals $20 per day per chair and $5 charge to print boarding passes.”

• The customer service and attitude of the employees.
• The "fees" for services like internet, use of the business center, movies.

“We were pleasantly surprised. Loved the decor of the rooms and the great view from our room. This was an older hotel (clearly), but what made all the difference was the attitude of the staff. From the front desk clerk, to the bellboy, to our housekeeper, to the room service. Everyone we came in contact acted like they were working at a 5 star resort. Their attitudes, courteous behavior, professionalism were a total 10.”

• Beautiful beach location!

“The hotel is right on the beach. All rooms have a private balcony and even the street view rooms have a view of the bay right across the street. Very romantic getaway spot but also kid friendly. The rooms were so clean. The beach is right out the back of the lobby; clean beach with plenty of lounge chairs and soft sand. There is also a nice outdoor bar & grill right off the lobby that stays open late. There is a nice restaurant and bar on the top floor that revolves so you get a nice romantic dinner with a million dollar view.”

• Smoke alarm beeped all night and could not get anyone to fix it until a.m.

“Very friendly staff. The king-size bed was very comfortable. Room setup was cabana style, angled, and unique. Top floor (12th) was a spinning lounge that allowed you to see both the gulf and the bay. Topping the list of things is the cleanliness of the hotel.”

• They upgraded us, at no charge, to the Penthouse Suite!
• The air vent whistled, and the wallpaper was pealing in places.

“Nice upgrade, at no charge. It made our trip perfect. The pool was too small for number of guests and a little dirty. Beach was excellent of course. The Spinners restaurant was great for the view and staff but the food was just OK. Overall we really enjoyed it.”

• Wonderful location.
• All tile floors, loud door slamming all night.

“This hotel has a great location right on sty. Pete beach. It's a little weird looking/dated from the outside. The beach was lovely, very clean and beautiful. The pool was nice but cold. I don't think it is heated. Right across the street from a publics and mini-golf, which was nice? The room was a little small and with tile floors throughout the hall and the room, I could hear doors slamming all night long and people talking in the hallways. The bed was very comfortable.”

• Room was noisy (doors closing) and floor was sandy.

“Overall, great place for the price paid. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel had everything you could want, pool, beach, fitness center, cabaña bar, restaurant, wifi, refrigerator, microwave, king bed. I believe the housekeeping could be better. There was sand on the tile floor when we arrived and left. Due to the room configuration and tile floor the rooms can be noisy depending on your neighbors.”

• The location on the beach. The actual beach is awesome.
• The hallways were dirty. Only one elevator worked for the entire hotel (10 story hotel).

“The room lay-out was poor. You could only see the TV from the bed, not the couch that was in the room. It was very dirty in the hallways. Only one elevator worked in the building. We had to wait sometimes 4 trips for the elevator to have room for us to get on!”

• Great view with a decent balcony.
• 12" ceramic tile in hallways and guest rooms give a cold feel, noisy.

“For the money, a great independent. Request a room on the side to get a great view of both the beach and bay. Good to see a late night beachside bar on property. Going to the beach is supposed to be fun, right.”
