“Front desk highly recommended that I let them call me a Town car to get into the city rather than use a cab, which I did. I later learned that a cab would have only been $25.00 and that the Town car they called was an illegal company.” Nov 25, 2009 by
Amanda from Racine,WY
“The hotel itself was excellent, and the fact that is was only a couple blocks from the subway to Manhattan was fantastic.” Nov 3, 2009 by
Pearlene from Hudson,OH
“The staff refused us our room we selected online. We requested a nonsmoking and handicapped accessible accommodations. We were told because we paid for the room online ahead of time, that we were not guaranteed a room of any kind. We were first directed to a smoking room. Then we were directed to a room with a sofa pull out bed with no real bed in sight. Just imagine they thought we were going to take that. I had to decline both rooms and ask to speak to the manager in order to get the actual room we had reserved online.” Oct 13, 2009 by
Jianwen from Worcester,MA
“It's a good place to stay if you visit NewYork. It's quiet and close to Subway 7.” Oct 3, 2009 by
Laurie from Rochester,NY
“Not much to write, it was a little dingy, needs an update and the bathroom tile was very dirty, however staff was very nice.” Aug 23, 2009 by

“An excellent value hotel for the business traveler.” Aug 8, 2009 by

“Nice hotel for NYC travelers who can't afford Manhattan. Comfortable king sized bed. Free coffee near the elevators until the restaurant opens. Attentive staff, full little hotel.” Jun 15, 2009 by
C.B. from Tecumseh,Canada
“Overall experience was fine but not exceptional. Room service was quick but incorrect order. Phones didn't work and remote control was broken as well. Asked for assistance but none was given.” Jun 12, 2009 by
Ron from Lincoln,NE
“This hotel is located five minutes from La Guardia and free shuttles run to/from hotel. The rooms are May 23, 2009 by

“Very nice stay. Hotel was extremely clean and employees were nice.” Jan 25, 2009 by
from College Station,TX
“Accommodations were comfortable. My biggest complaint was that anytime a taxi was called it was a private car service that was more expensive than a regular taxi might have been.” Jan 7, 2009 by
Carolyn from Novi,MA
“The noise level was terrible until after 12:30AM. The restaurant was very mediocre. The bed was clean and comfortable. Shuttle ran on time and that was most important.” Nov 11, 2008 by
Cindy from Ft Lauderdale,FL
“Not recommended for travelers with children.

“Hotel was great for the price, the first staff member at the front desk took our name and told us check-in time was 3pm. We sat in the lobby across from him for a few hours reading the paper when we went back to him to see if any rooms were cleaned yet he pretended to have never seen us before and read the same script. His co-worker was much more helpful and gave us a time that rooms would be ready.” Sep 19, 2008 by
“It was adequate without any major problems.” Sep 17, 2008 by

“This was a low-rent hotel in a bad part of queens located right next to a noisy highway. The room was stinky from smoke. The carpet in the room was mysteriously wet in places to we had to wear our shoes all the time. The doors were made of metal and echoed down the hall every time they were shut. The restaurant downstairs was a loud bar full of smoke. The neighborhood down the street was located under an elevated train and the only businesses were used tire stores and industrial supplies. Luckily, we just needed a place to stay near the airport for one night. This was a pretty rough place.” Aug 24, 2008 by
Jan from Morrow, GA
“My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights when visiting family in Manhattan. The front desk staff completely ignored us when we walked into the lobby. We had to change rooms twice before getting one that was semi-acceptable: the first room was ok, but right outside of the pool area where a big party was in progress; the second one had the horrible stench of moldy carpet and something else we couldn't identify; the third room smelled stuffy (as if it had been closed up for a long time). After returning to the hotel around 8:00 pm on the second night of our stay, we walked into the room to discover it in a shambles--bed covers were balled into a chair, towels were sitting on the commode, etc. A housekeeper came to clean up about 40 minutes after we notified the front desk supervisor. We were given a candy bar by way of apology, which we left on the desk in our room.” Aug 22, 2008 by
Sam from Rolling Hills, CA
“Horrible hotel, horrible rooms, outdated.” Aug 19, 2008 by
Cecil from Athens, GA
“Staff was very helpful and friendly, good location. Would recommend.” Aug 19, 2008 by
Paul from Atlanta, GA
“This hotel was so much better than I thought it would be. The staff went out of their way to make our stay perfect. An example is that there was only a smoking room available when we checked in. They had the room cleaned while we were out. There was no trace of the smoke smell when we returned. The hotel is a five minute walk from the train. The only thing I hated was the restaurant.” Aug 15, 2008 by
Carrie from Alamo, CA
“It was nice and all - but the rooms were so small. A full size bed was all we could get for my husband and I. No queens or kings available. Too expensive for the room and the location. But the staff was friendly and helpful and the food was great.” Aug 14, 2008 by
Chas from Thousand Oaks, CA
“Very close to LaGuardia airport with a courtesy shuttle that leaves every 20 minutes. Watch out for smoking rooms that smell really bad.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Theresa from Milwaukee, WI
“Friendly and helpful staff, close to airport, directly across from Shea Stadium, quite far from Manhattan. Neighborhood was a little scary at night, hoodlums hanging around outside the hotel. The food at the restaurant was not very good and the service slow.” Aug 12, 2008 by
Richard B. from Schenectady, NY
“Overall, a good experience. Staff was very friendly, no wait to check in.” Aug 11, 2008 by
Limra from Kalamazoo, MI
“I enjoyed this hotel. It was very clean and neat. The staff was fairly friendly and accommodating. The restaurant food was okay. The service was terrible. We waited 30 minutes for a second coke at dinner. We decided to try the bar area for lunch. We waited 35 minutes to even get a menu. If you asked the waitress for more than one thing at a time you would only get one then have to reminder her when she came back of anything else that you wanted. We even waited 25 minutes after completing desert for our bill.” Aug 10, 2008 by
Bart from Evanston, IL
“After I finally arrived, everything about the hotel was just fine for my situation and needs: nice room, cooperative front desk with extra toothpaste and brush that I needed, chauffeur ride in the morning to Manhattan (though it was too expensive and I wish I would been advised about its cost and alternatives).” Aug 10, 2008 by
Jen from Vancouver, WA
“Internet connection did not work.” Aug 9, 2008 by
Tim -. from Nashville, TN
“I will not stay at this hotel again and that is unfortunate. It is the ideal property for going to Mets games, but the dirty rooms and uncomfortable beds just cannot compete with competing hotels. Sorry Holiday Inn, you lost on this one!” Aug 9, 2008 by
Todd from Rockford, IL
“I will never stay at this hotel. It was a terrible experience.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Zlatica from Salisbury, MD
“The location of the hotel was excellent because it was right next to the La Guardia airport. The only problem we encountered was that the only room available was with a king bed and we were 4 people staying. They added an extra bed, but even though they tried to their best, they gave us a smoking room. That was disgusting, and at the top of it, the manager was really nasty the way they treated us, when we told him that was not what we were expecting.” Aug 6, 2008 by
Charlie from Geneva, OH
“Hotel is located very close to Shea's Stadium and LaGuardia airport, right next to major thoroughfare and "in walking distance to" NYC Subway stop. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff very pleasant and helpful.” Aug 6, 2008 by
Hesham from Columbia, MD
“Staff was not helpful. Shower was broken and called when I checked in and they forgot about my request because it was a shift change. I stayed 2 hours waiting to take a shower. Rooms smell and comforter are nasty. No way this hotel is 3 stars. Will never return there.” Aug 5, 2008 by
David from Georgetown, ON CA
“This hotel far exceeded our expectation in terms of location, service and amenities. The staff at this hotel could not have been any nicer, helpful and accommodating. We arrived early in the morning and were not able to check into a room (which was fine, it was before 11:00) but we were able to leave our bags in a secure room. The staff gave us maps and directions on how to get everywhere we wanted to go. The supervisor was helping us and she was just fantastic. We didn't get back till late that night, around midnight. We were given our room and unfortunately when we got up the 8th floor, we found that the room had not been made up - it was a mess. We were a bit unhappy about that, but the staff and the front desk were extremely apologetic and got us another room right away. We brought it up the next day at check out. She apologized again and gave us a voucher for a meal at the hotel restaurant. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.” Aug 4, 2008 by
Kenny from Carmel, IN
“The air conditioning was too loud. The neighbors made noise and slang the door at 2 am. It's a horrible hotel experience.” Aug 4, 2008 by
Stuart from Boca Raton, FL
“The staff did not give us the room that we requested by phone earlier in the day, even though they said we would have a king sized bed when we arrived, they told us none was available.” Aug 1, 2008 by
John from Sarasota, FL
“See number 14.” Jul 30, 2008 by
Eddie from Ashburn, VA
“The proximity to Shea stadium is why I chose this hotel. However, other than the view of Shea (if you can get a room on that side of the hotel - I requested it prior to my arrival, but they said there were no rooms available on that side) the stay was far less than 3 star quality they claim and I have never had a worse experience at any hotel restaurant. I was there with my family and friends for 1 1/2 hours, and never received my meal. I walked out of the restaurant hungry. It was better than dealing with the horrific service I experienced. The rooms are very average with basic amenities.” Jul 30, 2008 by
Quiesha from Colorado Springs, CO
“The hotel was located in the inner city of Queens right across (divided by the highway) from the Shea Stadium. The rooms are somewhat small and the bathroom wasn't clean. The hotel staff was friendly. If you are just on a short trip or don't plan on spending much time in the hotel room this would be a great place to stay.” Jul 28, 2008 by
Bob from Duluth, GA
“10 minute walk from number 7 Subway, not recommended for late night.” Jul 23, 2008 by
Craig S. from Cuyahoga Falls, OH
“The hotel exceeded our expectations. We had a very pleasant stay.” Jul 23, 2008 by
Gordon from East Brunswick, NJ
“It does not meet my expectation, it should be a 3-star but it turned out to be the 1-2 star hotel. The staff is not friendly.” Jul 21, 2008 by
Michael from Plantation, FL
“Good for the traveler on a budget. Short walk to the Subway to Manhattan. Close to LGA Airport and next to Shea Stadium. The room was clean and comfortable.” Jul 20, 2008 by
Sandy from Alpharetta, GA
“I had to call three times to be picked up from the airport and had to wait almost 45 minutes to be picked up. When I arrived their computers were down so they could not check me in. So I ate at the restaurant while waiting and the food was average. The staff was not very friendly, especially the shuttle drivers. The toilet trickled all night long. Thankfully I was there only for a short time.” Jul 17, 2008 by
Rhoda from Santa Rosa Beach, FL
“The baseball team just won and the bar was so noisy we could not talk to each other in the restaurant. A door between the two would be a good addition.” Jul 17, 2008 by
Chris from Mesquite, TX
“This was a very nice economy hotel. I stayed two nights in the Crown Plaza and then one night here. The Holiday in was much nicer than the Crown and the staff was more attentive. The restaurant wait staff was not that good but the food was decent. I would recommend for any leisure traveler. It is very close to the NYC transit system which was a huge bonus.” Jul 15, 2008 by
William from Venice, FL
“Since we previously lived in the nearby area 15 years ago. Much to our surprise, from the moment we parked, walked in, the friendly staff and clean lobby gave us hope. Also seeing the great restaurant/bar within. The room was more than we expected. It was clean, comfortable and spacious. We highly recommend it. Great value.” Jul 14, 2008 by
Sidney from Atlanta, GA
“Very convenient to LaGuardia airport. Staff was friendly and competent. Good place to stay for business travelers or to see a Mets game. Within walking distance of Flushing Meadow which is great for kids with a zoo, carousel, botanical gardens and a great hands on science museum.” Jul 12, 2008 by
Bill from Avon, CT
“Overall, I guess it's not bad being so close to NYC. Check-in was a night mare as the system had gone down 45 minutes at desk. Being tired and hungry didn't help. Staff tried to make up for it.”
