- I liked how the hotel was very comfortable with a nice pool, with friendly staff.
- They said there was a crib, but only a Pak and Play. Also the shower did not work so had to take baths.

- Front desk staff were great!
- Ignored by bartender, left after 10 minutes of waiting.
“Hotel is beautiful, front desk staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Room was very nice, clean with plenty of room. The one bad experience we had was at the bar. We wanted a drink after our long drive, we sat at the bar for 10 minutes waiting for service, the bartender who could clearly see us was on the computer the entire time. A waiter came by and helped two other women but then left. We finally gave up, had to leave or miss our train into NYC.”

- Location is great, hotel is beautiful overall.
- Low-end room.
“The beds were very comfortable. The rooms are clean and the hotel is gorgeous outside and in. What a lobby! The only thing that bothered me was the room given to us with a bathroom, that had the shower ceiling fan rotting. The stairs to the rooms on the second floor looked unkept. Other than that, the location is excellent we were in NY in no-time. The staff is excellent and they have Starbucks coffee in the morning at the lobby. I would still recommend this hotel because these details can be repaired. The overall hotel is worth the stay.”

- The courtyard was beautiful. The room was clean and pretty, staff was very friendly.

- The Atrium.
- Bath floor was dangerously slick.
“This is always a great hotel one of the best in the area, but is starting to show age in the bathrooms. The floor of the bath was so smooth I almost fell several times. The feel of the Atrium is still nice to sit in and work.”

- The Hyatt took good care of our family during several months of caring for an ill family member afar, and then accommodated us well for the funeral.
- Everything else was outstanding.
“By far the best place to stay in the Stamford-Greenwich area. Beautiful approach, lobby, atrium and restaurant/bar. The rooms are spacious, clean and beautiful. The staff is pleasant, professional and very accommodating.”

- The lobby was nice and the location convenient along with the restaurant, bar and salon/spa.
- The staff. All except one, did measure up to a 4 star level, however the one front desk staff was rude and offensive. Valet did not stack up either.
“I have to go retrieve my car myself twice, while paying $18 a day for valet. After asking for a hairdryer, since it should have been in the room before I arrived, I received the response of "what do you need one for, you don't even have enough hair" and upon check out with the same front desk rep, did not receive a thank you or did you enjoy your stay after he handed me my receipt, however, he did pause his conversation with another staff member to hand it to me and carry on with his conversation.”

- Great room, good service. In the morning, they had coffee on every floor and newspapers.
- The Friday night dinners that they had was not what I expected. Room key didn't work twice. Had to get a manger to come to the room and fix the door.
“Overall, the room and the hotel were great. Every time you passed an employee they greeted you right away. The key not working several times was annoying, but due to the inconvenience were we able to get free breakfast the next day.”

- A lovely, natural Forest' and 'Babbling Brook' Courtyard.
- Inconvenient to the Amtrak/Metro North rail station, and no shuttle service.
“An excellent fitness room and an outdoorsy wooded courtyard. And the staff almost gushes too much! But for the family and business traveler, the restaurant and bar are way too expensive, e.g. a bowl of cereal for $8 and a beer for $7. And no regular shuttle service to the Metro North / Amtrak train station, and occasionally no cabs available.”

- Beautiful castle like hotel with gorgeous indoor landscaped areas, pool and workout areas.
- Brunch $22.00 a little too pricy for family outing but excellent food.
“It is close to I95 for convenience. It is impeccably clean. Has a central atrium like area where the restaurants are that is very well landscaped with artificial flowing creeks/pond etc. My kids loved it. The hotel also has numerous conference areas that are very elegant.”

- It was very good looking and professional.
- The toiletries smell horrible/the more expensive the hotel the worse the soap and shampoo smell.

- Concierge did not greet me or acknowledge me right away, even took a call first.

- The lobby has a very nice atrium feel. It is very pleasant to spend time in the lobby restaurant and bar.
- The rooms need to be refurbished. They are very tired and worn.
“We stayed in Greenwich over Easter weekend to enjoy time with family in the area. Upon arrival at the hotel the outside is very pleasing and the lobby is graced with a garden atmosphere. The bar and restaurant areas are both very nice and welcoming. The rooms and bathroom have not been refurbished for sometime and are very worn and tired and in need of updating. I think the property is very nice, but Hyatt needs to invest in upgrading the rooms.”

- The exercise room and pool were exceptionally nice.
- The stained carpeting on the stairs and hallways needs to be cleaned or replaced.
“The atrium of the hotel has a wonderful garden that can let you enjoy spring in the middle of winter. The exercise facilities have top of the line equipment and are pristine. The front desk check-in was excellent with the clerk offering to make dinner reservations at a nearby restaurant. The clerk on check-out needed additional instruction in hospitality. The rooms are of average size with nice furnishings.”

- The atmosphere of the general areas was very luxurious. The room was also handsomely furnished and immaculately clean and maintained.
- I was put off that I had to pay for parking at a quality hotel like this. It is not in a metropolitan area where I might consider this reasonable.
“I had a terrific stay. I was pleased with special accommodations which included an early check in and a late check out. The engineer was also helpful responding to my need for assistance at 11PM. Reception staff was charming. I appreciated the coffee on the floor in the AM.”

- One staff member was inept and 100% lazy!

- The atrium Lobby.

“The Greenwich Hyatt is an attractive lobby but is in need of a facelift. The desk staff was neither particularly helpful nor welcoming. Halls are poorly lit and finding a room can be a challenge based on the confusing signage. Bring roller skates or a golf cart if you are not mobile as many rooms are a great distance from elevator banks.”

- Charged extra for everything-business office; internet; promised shuttle rarely available.
“This is a beautiful hotel and lives up to the 4 star rating as far as how it looks. However, being charged for so many services that 3 star hotels provide free of charge was a definite surprise. Business center hours were limited. Any access to internet was extra- either in the business center or in the room. The complimentary shuttle was unavailable even during normal business hours on a weekday. Every three feet someone was there though to move your bags a few feet and then put their hand out for a tip! Ill stick to 3 stars from now on!”

- Housekeeping was very below par.
“Stayed two nights. There was gel toothpaste in the bathroom sink and the refrigerator didn't work. We left room for 3 hours. Before we left, we asked at front desk that (1) they take care of housekeeping while we were gone, (2) they make certain to clean the sink and (3) that they fix the fridge. When we returned three hours later, they had just started to clean the room, sink still had gel toothpaste and fridge didn't work. Housekeeping left while the children changed for pool. I went back to front desk to tell them about dissatisfaction. Housekeeping guys came by and said they changed the fridge and insisted it was working, even though it was clearly warm (said it was defrosting). Other housekeeper never came back to finish cleaning (including not cleaning sink). After two hours at pool, we came back and (1) sink was still dirty and (2) fridge was still warm. I called and asked to speak to manager immediately. When manager arrived, explained problems. He apologized. Shortly thereafter, a new fridge was brought to the room (which worked). Housekeeping showed up to clean sink and seemed relieved to hear that it was there before she cleaned today. I guess she was relieved to hear the original problem was not her doing. Later that afternoon, Manager delivered milk and cookies for the children, a note of apology and coupons for brunch for the next day (our checkout day). All in all, it was a very disappointing stay.”

- Restaurant's food expensive but tasty, dismayed to find people wearing t-shirts and toddler running in "4-star" restaurant.
“Our room was nice, although about as far from the elevators as you could get. We were very disappointed with the atrium restaurant; service was really slow, most men were wearing T-shirts (on a Saturday night), and lots of kids/families in there so not at all romantic. The food was good but expensive.”

- Room was tastefully decorated and comfortable.
- The restaurant in the lobby atrium way too noisy. Does not lend itself to romantic dinner.
“Nicely decorated rooms and public space. Lobby atrium interesting with a brook flowing through and lots of foliage. The food in the restaurant very good and tasty and nicely presented however the location is poor. You feel like you are sitting in the middle of the hotel lobby. There is no separation between the two. The room we stayed in overlook the parking lot but other than that it was fine. Did not understand why the hotel charge 10.00 parking fee for open self park parking. Very strange. But the hotel was very clean and service at the high level with lots of attention to details.”

- Kiosk in lobby allowed me to search local restaurants, shopping, etc.
- Hotel had an event the evening of our stay and we had to park very far away.
“The hotel was lovely. The parking is a bit of a problem. We went out to dinner and when we returned we actually had to park at a building next door because the hotel was having an event. The event was in the hall by the entrance to the pool, so you had to walk by crowds of people to access the pool.”

“I regret that I did not have a good experience at this hotel. I arrived late and was put in the back corner room which smelled of mold and old cigars. I asked to be moved to another room and was given a room with a dining room table in the middle of it and the bed was a pullout Murphy bed. My car would have been more comfortable.”

- The lovely tree filled courtyard.
- Recently implemented 10.00 overnight parking fee.
“A fine hotel close to all major points. Lush courtyard is the focal point. Nice to sit and enjoy a drink or dine at the Sunday brunch.”

- The Atrium was impressive. The attitude of the staff was very good.
- The veal shank had too much fat. Didn't get enough veal for the price. Brunch buffet was way over priced.
“Hotel did a lot of things well. The Center Atrium was a beautiful space to see and to eat in. The attitude of the staff was positive, caring and helpful. The location of our particular room was very inconvenient in that we had a long distance to go to and from any elevator or stair. Next time we will specify a closer location to a means of egrese (there was an emergency stair close by though). Restaurant was good but we felt overpriced.”

- I liked the atmosphere of the atrium & professionalism of the staff.
- The room was a little on the dirty side. I found hair on the bedspread & in the bath tub.

- The indoor garden.
- Mouthwash was not stocked in my hotel room.
“The Hyatt of Old Greenwich is situated in a peaceful and prominent area in Connecticut. The hotel is extremely unique in that the central focus is an indoor garden. The garden is encircled by the hotels room, which provide for an excellent view of the garden. In the garden one can enjoy a pleasant dinner or a drink at the relaxing bar.”

- The pool and gym were great. Kids enjoyed it so much.
- Maids kept asking us everyday if we were checking out.
“This hotel is a great getaway. My children only want to go to the Hyatt Hotels for our vacations. Staff members are great. The restaurant was kid friendly and the menu was amazing. I had to have my mother come over and have lunch with us one day and she was very pleased.”

- They tried very hard to and succeeded in meeting all our room-related requests.
- The daily self-parking fee (and associated 12% tax).
“The service truly was lovely and personal. The atrium is a stunning accomplishment. Having two adjoining rooms provides ample space for a family of five to have a comfortable home-base during vacation. We have stayed there before, and will stay there again.”
