“Other than not having free internet access in the rooms or in the lobby, personnel working at the hotel were very engaging, friendly and helpful. However, maintenance-wise the room appeared to be not well kept. It appeared worn in some areas, especially around the air conditioning system. Otherwise, the people who worked for the hotel were very accommodating and the hotels overall appearance was inviting and clean if one did not look closely.” Nov 16, 2008 by
Wendy from Sheboygan,WI
“This hotel was very comfortable for us I thought that it was a great value. The hotel was very nice!” Oct 28, 2008 by

“Nice hotel but oddly decorated. Parking was ample. Some people in the non-smoking unit were smoking - as judged by the odor in the air. The hotel needs to make sure that this doesn't happen. We will not stay in a hotel with smokers.” Sep 1, 2008 by
Jose from Orlando, FL
“They charge for internet connection - period that finishes 3:00 pm - who would stay in the hotel that time? Crazy.” Aug 17, 2008 by
Mary from Lombard, IL
“This is a very old hotel that has not kept up with the times. The rooms are dirty and small. The location was very convenient.” Aug 14, 2008 by
Pam from Dallas, TX
“Quiet location off the main highways. Convenient to shopping and restaurants. Older building but the room was good size and clean. Bed was comfortable. Vanity in the bathroom was separate from the shower area. Great room to sleep and shower but not to spend any length of time in.” Jul 20, 2008 by
Catherine from Norfolk, VA
“NA.” Jul 15, 2008 by
Don from San Antonio, FL
“Don't use me as a reference, it would be a disaster.” May 30, 2008 by
Joe from Andover, MN
“Overall, it was fine. There are two buildings in the complex. The mail one looks to be the original hotel with the lobby and the other is just a 2 story building with rooms.” May 8, 2008 by
Robin from Oviedo, FL
“I decided that the advantages far outweighed the horrible decor in the room I was in. I felt pampered, and I loved being able to use the indoor heated pool and hot tub. The restaurant is exceptional. Because I will travel to Chicago area for business, this will be my hotel of choice.” Apr 16, 2008 by
Lora from Yorkville, IL
“We were pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotel was when we entered; however, the man at the front desk gave us the key to someone elses room, and walked in on them! We were then apologized to, and given a new room. When we arrived in the new room, one of the complimentary water bottles left for us had been half drunken by the last guest and left for us. We called and asked for a new water bottle, and were told by the person at the front desk that someone would immediately come, they never did. We called hours later, and someone finally replaced the half drunken water bottle for us but we still had to wait hours for it to happen!” Apr 11, 2008 by
Paul from Chicago, IL
“Overall it was an average hotel, I would not go back there because of the temperature being too warm in the halls and rooms.” Apr 10, 2008 by
Robin from South Lyon, MI
“This hotel has a regular appearance from the outside, but as you walk into the lobby and notice the beautiful fresh flowers and elegant furnishings, you realize it's a bit nicer than expected. The hotel is somewhat outdated, but nicely kept. Our room was very large to accommodate our family of five and we were very happy with it. However, even though we called beforehand to confirm that we would have a room for 5, upon arrival we were informed that there were no such rooms available. A manager quickly and cheerfully resolved the situation though. They seemed short on staff. They forgot to place a roll-away bed in our room and after calling the front desk 3 times, we finally had to walk down there ourselves and request it face-to-face. No big harm though, it was a short walk. The pool area was very nice, and our children enjoyed it immensely. The water was a very comfortable temperature, and the surroundings were attractive and clean. The bell hops at the door were extremely kind and pleasant. All in all, we were happy with our stay.” Apr 9, 2008 by
Bill from Bremen, OH
“New management that seems to be making an effort to make your stay better. They need to spruce up the rooms though.” Apr 6, 2008 by
Robert from Edgerton, WI
“An upscale hotel with about any amenity you might want.” Mar 19, 2008 by
Kim from Richmond, IN
“This location was very disappointing. Did not meet the start rating I requested. It would be pushing it to say that it was even a 2 star. I have no desire to stay at this location again. It was not worth it!” Mar 16, 2008 by
Robert from Nashville, IN
“Old, worn out, faulty heating system, tiny bathroom with shower non-functioning.” Mar 5, 2008 by
Tesha from Chicago, IL
“I really enjoyed the Hotel and the atmosphere. I actually would recommend using this hotel for any function. I ordered room service, but I limited myself because when I strolled down to the lobby I was delighted by the wonderful gourmet buffet I missed out on!” Jan 22, 2008 by
Matt from Urbana, IL
“Very nice place to stay.” Jan 10, 2008 by

“Nice established hotel in convenient location. Bath and Body Works products. Very attractive common areas.” Dec 14, 2007 by
Ann from Springfield, IL
“I asked for a new room when I checked in since the room temp was 86 degrees and the thermometer said 65 degrees. We did switch rooms after I had to argue with the desk clerk. The new room was at 78 and we set it at 55. Never budged from 78, very warm. I asked to have it fixed; it stayed the same the next night, no response from the desk. I hope never to stay here again.” Dec 12, 2007 by
Barb from Rockford, IL
“I would highly recommend this hotel to any traveler. Very comfortable and people were very helpful.” Dec 9, 2007 by
Albert from Dallas, TX
“I dont recommend that you all place people at this hotel poor services. At least not me.” Dec 1, 2007 by
Bob from Edgerton, WI
“I'd recommend this hotel to my friends, except with children as it seems more geared to adults. It would be a good choice for business travelers. Easy access to Oakbrook, Chicago area companies and activities.” Nov 28, 2007 by
Melanie from Normal, IL
“Hotel is very convenient to Oakbrook shopping mall and major Interstates. It is quiet, off the main roads so not a lot of traffic to compete with. Rooms were modern, but still needed some newer bedspreads. Large LCD TV wall-mounted to allow for adequate desk space. Bathroom was very clean, but on the small side, and only a small ledge to hold personal items (pedestal sink). I would highly recommend for the price we paid and would say this is a great hotel for business, leisure, or the kids.” Nov 4, 2007 by
Cara from Coloma, MI
“Very nice. We had a very good sleep! The rooms were nicely furnished and the beds comfortable.” Oct 30, 2007 by
Teri from Lombard, IL
“I have stayed in many hotels and this was by far the least friendly or helpful staff I have encountered. Although there was a large sign indicating complimentary valet service, there was rarely one on the scene. The staff did the absolute minimum in guest interaction, they were less than helpful and the front desk was frequently unsafe unless you rang a bell for their attention. A good hotel has someone there always, trying to make the guest's stay more enjoyable. The facility is older and shows it. They seem to rely on their banquet/event business to get them by. It is in a beautiful setting, unfortunately, the mediocre hotel is a disappointment.” Oct 30, 2007 by
John from No. Olmsted, OH
“Excellent location and experience.” Oct 29, 2007 by
Dave from Dyer, IN
“Everything was pretty much ok except the room temperature.” Oct 24, 2007 by

“The hotel was phenomenal, one of the best Ive been to.” Oct 23, 2007 by
Gary from Portland, OR
“The room was clean with an elegant look. The bed was comfortable and the bathrooms were large. I would recommend to my friends. A nice shopping mall is across the street.” Sep 14, 2007 by
Robert from Edgerton, WI
“This is a fallen four star hotel with lots of amenities, but like most four stars, anything you need extra will cost you an arm and a leg. To use a computer in their kiosk was a minimum of $12.50 and you had to give them a credit card enabled for $40 to start. If you had your own laptop however you didn't need this service.” Aug 19, 2007 by
Shannon from Peoria, IL
“Excellent experience for a relatively low price. Pool and hot tub were clean, room was attractive and comfortable with nice amenities, and staff was extremely friendly.” Jul 22, 2007 by
Gary from San Diego, CA
“A little difficult to find, but located very centrally to downers grove, Hinsdale and Oakbrook. Freeway access was a little confusing for visitors. Family's children loved the pool and exercise room. I would look forward to staying there again.” Jul 19, 2007 by
Cinda from Westerville, OH
“Very nice hotel. Room was small but clean with up-to-date furnishings, including flat screen TV. Outdoor pool area and veranda are beautiful. Lobby is very nice also. Elevator carpets need replaced. Important - internet access is $9.95/day unless you join WyndhamByRequest before checking in. Membership is free, so take care of this before checking in!” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 5, 2007 by

“I called ahead twice and let the staff know that I was coming in on a 1am flight and had to get rental car and luggage. When I arrived at 3:30am, after a nightmare at the airport, my room was unavailable and everything was sold out. The staff did find me a room at a La Quinta Inn however I had to wait for them to find a hotel and for them to write a letter saying that they should bill the Drake Hotel for the cost. We had plumbing problems and the maintenance person knocked at the door and then handed me a plunger and walked away without a word spoken. He didn't even ask what was wrong with the toilet. It was extremely rude.” Jun 19, 2007 by
Frank from Lockport, IL
“The rooms are extremely clean. The employees are courteous. The restaurant is overpriced. Charging a delivery fee for room service is just wrong. The exterior is depressing. The hallway lights are dark and bizarre. The pool is great looking because it is large enough to where all can enjoy. Having an indoor and outdoor pool is a great idea for all weather.” May 16, 2007 by
Marwan from Iowa City, IA
“I only stayed for one night in this hotel. It was very good, clean, quite and close to ORD airport. I did not have time to check the facilities, but the lobby looked nice. The hotel has two building, so if your room in the 5th or 6th floor, then your room is on the off street building and it is actually 1st or 2nd floor. Still, it was a nice stay and I would recommend it.” May 15, 2007 by
Tracy from Willowbrook, IL
“Staff was very nice. And problem I had with room they ended up upgrading me to a suite because of the minor problem. ” May 15, 2007 by
Diane from Marietta, PA
“Apparently the hotel tried to remodel the room but the bathroom & decor in rooms were still untouched. The flat screen TV, frig & microwave were a nice touch. They claim to have all each of these in all rooms. This was not the case for 1 of our 2 rooms we booked. The 1st room we had for the 1st night had no frig or a sitting chair & very little room. They suggested switching rooms the next day. They told us they couldn't do anything until after the rooms were cleaned. When we arrived back later that day we had to take what we they had left. The 2nd room for had no sitting chair. We had to ask 2x for a chair. The 1st time we were told the room decor is what it is & could not be changed. The 2nd gentleman did get us one but it was a conference/dining room chair. By this time it was not worth the battle that was better than nothing. We had problems with our key cards not working 4 out of 7 days.” May 14, 2007 by
Leah from Bloomington, IN
“This hotel was great! I ordered room service and the food was delicious! I also used their workout room, which was very nice. The rooms were very clean and very comfortable. Best sleep I ever got at a hotel - the beds were so comfy. All in all, a wonderful experience!” Apr 30, 2007 by
Ronda from Peru, IL
“The hotel is very nice for the price and a good location. The room next door phone wakeup call rung for about 5 minutes so we called the front desk and they sent someone up and he knocked on our door instead of the door where the room was ringing at 5:00 AM. The phone continued to ring for about a total of 10 minutes.” Apr 28, 2007 by
Kenneth from Brown Deer, WI
“It's a "Name" hotel, but seems always to be empty. Amenities are some what "used" and some are non-working. Front desk staff is some of the most unfriendly people I¿ve met¿” Apr 21, 2007 by
Deb from Fishers, IN
“Good location, close to oak brook's shopping & restaurants. One of our rooms was right by the elevator, thus lots of hall noise from doors and elevator activity.” Apr 5, 2007 by
Debra from Kenosha, WI
“Very comfortable and convenient.” Mar 31, 2007 by
Jeff from Springfield, IL
“It was nice, thank you.” Mar 29, 2007 by

“The hotel restaurant was nice and staff was friendly. Front desk service was ok. Hotel was warm because of outside temp. Air-conditioning not available but we could¿ open a window".” Mar 26, 2007 by
William from Huntington, IN
“It was probably a super plush hotel in it's day. But even with the age, it is still very nice, especially for the price.”
