“We stayed at this hotel for a wedding. The reception facilities were excellent as was the food served. Rooms were comfortable & well appointed.” Jul 17, 2008 by
Leonard E. from State College, PA
“This is a very classy looking hotel with a handsome lobby that seems to host a lot of weddings. The room was not as impressive as the common area in terms of comfort and cleanliness, but it was perfectly acceptable for its star rating.” Dec 19, 2007 by
Nina from Great Neck, NY
“Beautiful older hotel in excellent working condition. Heavy on charm and old fashioned furnishings. Not so quick on the up take for business travelers in a hurry. Staff is nice, but sleepy. Vacation here, but don't use it as a pit stop for business travel.” Dec 17, 2007 by
Paula from Richmond, TX
“Very friendly staff and the rooms are comfortable. Manager is terrific. Coffee and pastries in the a.m. In the lobby (in front of fireplace) were great. Cell phone service is a problem in areas of the hotel. Bar downstairs and piano musician completed the marvelous ambience.” Oct 15, 2007 by
Mike from Pittsford, NY
“We were staying for two nights. After the first night, we were locked out of our room.” Sep 10, 2007 by
Dorothy from Carmichael, CA
“This hotel is very accommodating, the location is great, and the staff is very friendly. Rooms and beds are very comfortable and housekeeping staff does an excellent job.” Jul 31, 2007 by
Dan from Toluca Lake, CA
“There were cold showers when I visited the Madison hotel. I called down to the front desk. They said the hot water would be turned on (why it wasn't to begin with is a mystery). After apparently turning on the hot water, it, in fact, was still cold. I also wanted to check out later (around 3-4 pm). The staff did not allow this until I told them about my very unsatisfactory stay.” May 28, 2007 by
Alan from Palmers Green GB
“If we ever return to the Morristown area of new jersey then we would be sure to stay at the Madison hotel. I would certainly recommend it to anyone.” May 4, 2007 by
Dorothy from Rochester, MN
“Victorian deco. Lobby furniture shabby, uncomfortable. Nice free continental breakfast in lobby, but no place to sit and eat it due to the bugs and ugly antique furniture. Lovely outdoor courtyards. This place is designed for hosting weddings and does a good job of that.” Apr 21, 2007 by
Sarah from Chester-Le-Street GB
“Although the hotel looks great the staff, beds and train leave something to be desired. I found the beds to be very uncomfortable and always woke up sore as did my mother, although my husband and father had no problems. Certain members of the staff were very abrupt and condescending and the train station right next to the hotel, get a room as far from it as possible unless you want to be woken up early every morning. Apart from this the hotel services were fantastic and the restaurant although pricy, nice. One thing to be aware of though. This hotel does a lot of functions making certain parts of the hotel constantly off limits. I wouldn¿t recommend it too my family. There are far better hotels in the area available at the same price. Good points - it¿s very clean and well kept for a non chain hotel with good food. Bad points - woken up by noisy trains and poor front desk staff.” Nov 14, 2006 by
Mia from Indianapolis, IN
“I really think I paid too much for this room. The staff acted like I was bothering them every time I called down, and the over all atmospheres were snotty and rude. The staff seemed to talk down to me. The only reason I picked this hotel is because it had a shuttle bus to the Morristown hospital. It was the closest one. I would never go back to this hotel again. Highly over priced. Especially for the way I was treated during my stay.” Oct 5, 2006 by

“There was a lot of activity (several weddings, etc.) and the staff handled the details with efficiency. I was pleased with most everything except the week-end breakfasts. They were very dull.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Apr 10, 2006 by

“Overall nice hotel. staff friendly. Disappointed with main desk when a request was made for extra pillows and never received them. Pillows were like soft, mushy pancakes. They only leave 1 extra pillow in the rooms. ” 1 of 2 people found this review helpful.Feb 7, 2005 by

“very nice facility in a very nice setting.....well maintained....attractive lobby....upscale restaurant within the lobby....many amenities included” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 30, 2005 by

“Great lobby, nice rooms. However, it was not clear what was done in the $24M fix up. It was also not a great choice for a business traveler who needs an internet hookup. The cable line did not work and the help desk had no clue as to the issue. Plus, they wanted like $16 per day, which is outrageous.” 1 of 2 people found this review helpful.
