“Extremely poor sound proofing. Between the very loud guests and the screeching sirens all night long, I got very little sleep. It could not have been any noisier if I had just slept in the parking lot.”

• The suite factor, nice to have a separate for TV viewing and food consumption.
• Room was a little cramped - kids leaving the pool area left hallway floor wet and dangerous - also signage for hotel could be better, drove right by.

“Pleasant and comfortable for a short stay - bed was great, really slept well. Noise from turnpike was minimal and did not disturb me. Would be an excellent stay for a business traveler.”

• Facility was very nice, staff was friendly. Free continental breakfast was extensive with lots of great choices.
• Sits back from the main road - drove by it when looking for it. The elevator was not in operation for a short period of time.

• Location is convenient to highways. A good breakfast buffet is included.
• There is nothing within a safe walking distance, except maybe another hotel.

“The hotel prohibits smoking; but some people cheat. Staff was helpful and friendly. Rooms are spacious, and equipped with two large TV sets. Flat panel sets would be a big improvement, since the bulky, old cathode ray tube sets tend to dominate the rooms.”

• I felt very safe in the hotel including the well light hallways, lobby, pool/work-out room and the outside parking area.
• The bed wasn't as comfortable as I would have liked.

“We had a very nice time there. The staff was very kind and helpful to my family. The breakfast area was very nice, clean and comfortable. There was a full range of breakfast foods. It was actually the most food offered at any hotel I have ever stayed. The pool and work-out area were both clean and inviting. I would definitely stay there again.”

• Everything include in one price tag, no extra for breakfast and internet service.
• Room next to highway, not enough food in breakfast.

“This is a good hotel I stayed with the right money, but it seems like this one has no exception is right next to a busy highway. I mean "next" is the high way just 20 feet away. If the hotel has to build next to a highway, maybe they should spend some more money on insulating the room from the noise. The hotel free breakfast is a plus, but when it's not prepared enough food for the summer volume of vacation guests, that will turn that plus into opposite sign.”

• The staff was very kind and helpful. They had printed up cards with directions to and from attractions (extremely helpful)!
• The entrance/street wasn't clearly marked. We passed the street the first time and had to turn around.

“We enjoyed the hotel stay very much! It was clean and very comfortable. With the room being divided by a little wall and mirror. It felt bigger and a little like home. We enjoyed the kitchenette and the office area. We watched movies in the sitting area. It was all very nice! The bed was very comfortable, in fact, I slept better than I ever have at a hotel. My daughter slept on the sofa bed and it hurt her back. She ended up sleeping on the couch itself and did better. Overall, we enjoyed our stay so very much!”

“This was the second experience. The other hotel was a disappointment, but this one was terrific! It was new, clean, bright and had large rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was exactly where we needed it, with immediate access to the Turnpike. Highly recommended!”

• I liked the suites with the microwaves, refrigerator and sink in the room. Also the pull out couch.
• The refrigerator did not have a freezer section to keep the ice packs in.

“For our visiting purposes, it was in a great location. The hotel itself was very clean, and the room was perfect for our family. The continental breakfast was also very good, and the cookies in the evening, yummy. The food mart in the lobby and the coffee, tea and hot chocolate were all very nice conveniences as well.”

• The staff was VERY helpful and friendly. I like the Wi-Fi in lobby and wired internet for free in the rooms.
• The vending machine on my floor was out of order.

“This is an awesome hotel with a great staff that exceeded my expectations for a 2-1/2 star hotel. I would recommend it to anyone. Very clean and spacious rooms with kitchenettes. The staff helped me with internet service and provided directions to nearby attractions with a smile. Great free breakfast in the mornings.”

• The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.
• Cleaning staff tried to enter room when we were showering/half-dressed.

“Overall, our stay at the Spring hill Suites Marriott was very pleasant. I do not remember her name, but the woman that was at the front desk at check-in time was friendly, helpful, and professional. She was able to accommodate my request for a room with a single king-size bed. Although the hotel was in close proximity to the PA turnpike toll booths, the room was quiet, comfortable and clean. My only complaint, and I have had this happen before, is that the cleaning staff opened the door to our room when we we getting ready in the morning. Overall, this was one of my best hotel experiences.”

• The housekeeping and front desk staff was extremely helpful as my husband was sick in bed all weekend.
• The traffic pattern getting the short distance from the turnpike to the hotel is horrendous.

“This hotel had a beautiful common area, and large, clean, and nicely decorated rooms. Every single person who worked at the hotel went above and beyond their call of duty to be friendly and helpful in any way they could. It was a wonderful place to stay.”

• I liked the king-sized bed as well as the fact is was a suite.
• The sheets were to scratchy and the pillows were not supportive.

• Two beds make for tight spaces for getting to the closet.

“This was my first experience with Springhill Suites. It won't be my last. The staff was friendly. The room was clean, with a coffee-maker, refrigerator and microwave. Great (free) breakfast. This hotel included many features expected to be found in a higher end hotel. My only issue was with the memory foam bed. I've never slept on one and it wasn't as comfortable as I'd like but my traveling companion loved it (and didn't want to leave it in the morning). I'll definitely be looking for Springhill Suites when I travel in the future.”

“The Springhill Suites is an excellent hotel for family getaways. The lobby and rooms are well kept, with attractive modern designs and contemporary artwork. The rooms were spacious, clean, with a comfortable bed mattress, although the sheets seemed slightly old. The free in room internet and lobby printer were a definite plus. The breakfast was average, but good for the $$ you save. We saved around $75 on our 3 day trip. Nice big screen LCD in breakfast area for morning news, complimentary paper at your doorstep included. The pool was heavy on the chlorine, but clean. The gym area was clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and attentive to you needs. Overall, this was an excellent place to stay for our trip to Pittsburgh (excellent access to downtown and north side) and would not even consider alternatives on future visits for myself. This place should be a min 3.5 star in or around NYC.”

• They offered free breakfast, which is a rarity among affordable hotels.
• This is so silly. The TV in the fitness room was flat screen and it distorted the picture somewhat.

“I love my stay here. The fitness room was open 24/7, which was great because I keep off-hours. The free breakfast was super convenient cause it saved me time hunting for a place to eat. The free cookies in the lobby (in the evening) were great! I like food and it was everywhere! Free apples in the lobby, free lollipops. Also, the staff was very nice and friendly.”

“Carpet in room had not been vacuumed; crumbs on floor. Long hair all over the place (on bed, floor of bathroom). Room was at front of hotel; busses backing up to entrance made lots of beeping noise late at night. This awoke me several times. I had complimentary breakfast Sunday AM at 9:30. They were out of eggs and sausage. It took nearly 20 mines to replenish, and then it was cold. There was a very long line for remaining food. Trash cans were overflowing w/ trash. Overall, I was very disappointed w/ this particular site.”

• There was a sitting area separate from the beds.
• The double beds were very small.

“My family stayed in this hotel when we were there for a family funeral. We found the staff to be responsive and friendly to us, which was particularly important at that difficult time. We initially had a problem with our room (strange smell) and were immediately moved to a new room without any fuss. The rooms were basic but very clean. The linens were nicer than the average 2.5 star on the bed, but the towels left something to be desired. Overall, we got our money's worth out of the place.”

“The hotel was exceptionally clean and the rooms were perfect for a business trip. Travel amenities such as hi-speed internet at a desk were appreciated. Only drawback was no interior drapes on the windows to close for privacy or to keep sunlight out.”
