“Excellent reasonably priced and located hotel in s beach. Comfortable mattress and excellent AC.”

• Great beds, great location for nightlife.
• Too loud, no pool.

“Old quaint hotel with natural charm. Marble floors, comfortable beds. Bathrooms are very small. Keep in mind this is an old charm. The elevator is too small for the average sized person let alone with luggage - made me laugh when I got in. Staff is very very friendly. Great location for the beach and nightlife, and restaurants too. Although this hotel is very loud continual slamming doors all night long. You hear everything going on above you if you happen to have neighbors above. Plan on spending a lot of money here. I would not stay here again as it was really too loud. The bed thankfully made up for it. My sister opened our door and screamed down the hall, "quit slamming the doors!"”

• Clean rooms and location.
• small rooms.

“Place is good if you love the nightlife. Rooms were small but clean. If you plan on NOT spending too much time in your room, then it was perfect. Clean, linen, good restaurant attached, and the location is IDEAL to everything in South beach. ”

• Location is excellent if nightlife is important or the beach.
• Rooms are smoky and a little musty.

“Nice place and friendly staff. it is not worth paying extra for the ocean view as the windows are small and we found some are blocked by palm trees. Our first room smelled badly of cigarette smoke (and view was obstructed) so the staff graciously changed our room. The 2nd room was fine but then our neighbors started smoking which came in our room. The older hotel has many connecting rooms and these doors are not sound or smoke proof. Excellent location, not too noisy at night, and nice business center. Staff is exceptional.”

• Incredible ambiance and location. The building is great and the rooms are comfortable.
• Rooms are a bit small and the air conditioner seemed weak.

“The Beacon is an architectural treasure and an incredibly hip old hotel. The location is perfect for South Beach and is near all manner of shopping and dining choices. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. Overall, a very relaxing and yet, elegant, place to stay.”

• Location-right in the heart of the art deco district of south beach, on ocean drive, across the street from the beach. Great shopping and dining within walking distance and great night life all around. Staff was very friendly.
• Charged $6 for bottle water

“The location of this hotel could not be better. It is in the heart of Miami's famous South Beach. It is located in the Art Deco district. On Ocean Drive the hotel was just across the street from the beach. With great dining and night life all around. The hotel even provided beach towels for its guest. The only thing is that microwaves were not provided in the rooms, and they charge $6 for bottle water. Each room is decorated with Art Deco style furnishings and each room is suppost to have a different decore (I am not certain of this since I only stayed in one room).”
