  • When they tried to charge me additional fees, and lock me out the room.

“The hotel was nice, but I didn't like what was done to me after I had a long day, and wanted to get some sleep. They locked me out my room saying I owe more money. Later the problem was fixed, but it made me really mad.”

  • It was unattractive and dark.

“Upon check in the front desk clerk talked on the phone the entire time she was checking us in. It seems as if she was on a personal call. There was a dirty tray in the hallway the day we checked in, it was still there the day we checked out. Which was a real eyesore since it was the first room you see when you get off of the elevator.”

  • Shower water pressure was not strong. $18 per day parking fee.

“With easy access for travelers from new England, the Wenham is located minutes from LaGuardia airport, shear stadium, and locations in queens. Easy on/off highways to Manhattan also. The hotel has a personable and professional staff. My room was clean and spacious. Even though it was new year's weekend, the hotel and my room were quiet.”

“Nice place to stay if you are a tourist, just looking for a place to crash after walking around Manhattan all day. They do have a small restaurant and bar, and the food was pretty good. The staff was great. I was a little scared by the other comments, but was pleasantly surprised. I recommend it for a safe sleep facility.”

  • The staff was unorganized, unfriendly and not at all helpful, and the room smelled of mildew and old cheese.

“My reservation was misplaced by one of their incompetent workers, and I had to pay for 1 extra night even though I told them that I had my reservation on email. So when I printed my confirmation, they had to refund me for the 2 nights that were not even necessary to charge in the first place would they have listened to me. I will not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Terrible service. A shame to all Wyndham hotels.”

  • The lobby was nice. It didn¿t smell as bad as the second floor where our room was.
  • Stained carpets, bad smells, rooms hot as saunas, opening windows since a/c didn¿t work. Hotel rooms out of the 60's.

“It was a terrible stay for my family and me. The rooms look like they haven¿t been updated in decades. The hallways smelled like curry or Asian food. Stains all over the carpet that looked like feces stains. When I called the desk about the a/c not working they told me that the heat stays on till 4/18 because they are on a budget and that if you want cooler air to "open a window". Of course by doing this the noise from the freeway and the airport is unbearable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. They promote themselves as a 2.5 stars but I would rate this dive of a hotel as a 1 star and that¿s being very generous.”

  • This hotel was clean in a central and convenient location, with a courteous and helpful staff.
  • The restaurant in the hotel was a little pricey for the quality of food served.

“Overall my stay was pleasant. I would stay there again, particularly when I use LaGuardia Airport. It is across the pkwy. The staff was very helpful and when I called for directions from the airport to the hotel they sent a driver in 5 min to pick me up. The room was clean, had wireless services and was just right for my stay. Rooms a little small for family travel and right near highway, which you can hear at night.. but all in all it was pleasant.”

  • Helpfulness of the front desk people. Car service availability during times when the airport shuttle is not yet available.
  • Room we stayed need some update.

“My husband & I stayed overnight in this hotel for our early flight out of LaGuardia. Overall, our experience was ok. The front desk and customer service is very good. However, we do think that the rooms need updates. They also need to address the noise level. Its proximity to both the airport and Grand Central Parkway does not add up to a quiet and relaxing sleep. We were constantly awakened by either the sound of cars or planes. If you are looking for a place to stay when traveling out of LGA, you can consider this hotel as long as you bring along some noise canceling earphones.”

  • Close to LGA but no airplane noise, very close to Shear Stadium.
  • Don't use the mapping directions on their website to get there!

“We drove to the hotel - $15/night parking! The staff were super friendly and the room was nice. My one recommendation is to use Map-Quest or a real map to get there - directions we printed using the map program on their website got us within 10 blocks, but not there! We walked back to the hotel from Shea Stadium after the Mets game (using our map) - beautiful area!”

  • Wasn't near Times Square and it was a hassle to take a shuttle bus to the airport and a city bus into the city.

“If we had known that it was such a hassle to get into the Times Square area we would have chosen something closer. When we arrived they didn't have two double beds for us, which is what we needed with two kids.”

  • Early morning dumpster work ruined chance of sleep.

“Everything about hotel fine EXCEPT for very key thing being that the noise created by the 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. dumpster emptying/replacement right outside my window kept me from getting good night's sleep, which was the whole point of me staying there as I had 6 a.m. flight out. This is major problem for the hotel; I wouldn't stay there again.”

  • It is convenient to the airport and that's going if your doing an overnight stay. With a flight in the morning.
  • The shuttle forgot to pick me up. They only a king beds in the smoking section, no non smoking king rooms.

“I felt a though the staff was not friendly at all. I had to call back several time to get a shuttle and they ask me to go to Air Tran shuttle pick-up area. The shuttle came and went right pass me. so I had to run and catch up with him at his next stop. Then upon entering the hotel the desk person said she had me down for 1 king smoking room, when I ask for non-smoking she said okay. The other lady whispered something in her ear and she then informed me that she only had double rooms in non-smoking.”

  • High Speed Internet in room: daily rates are from 3:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. instead of any 24 hr period. Inconvenient Also parking cost $15. It's free at other hotel.

“I was very upset when I got this hotel as I had read negative reviews in Trip Adviser and other Internet sites. They were false. The hotel was airy and did not stink of smoke. The room was large and clean. The service was very friendly. The A/C was fully functional. Room had a portable phone. Only 2 negatives, parking is not free unlike other area hotels and high speed Internet service in room is programmed from 3:00 p.m. To 3:00 p.m. rather than any 24 hour period. It was not convenient and cost more to use.”

  • Good value, good location, comfy bed!
  • Bathroom was small and odd-shaped. Bathtub needs replacing.

“This is a good choice for persons looking for easy access to LGA or JFK airports. La Guardia sits right across the Grand Central Parkway from the hotel. Staff was pleasant and efficient. My room was in an tower shaped similar to a stop sign, which meant the rooms were shaped like a pie slice. It was also a bit of a hike from the front desk to my room. The room itself was good-sized for a New York property, although the bathroom was a bit too cozy. I think it would be awkward with more than one person in the room. I found the room in good condition. The bed was especially comfortable, both the mattress and linens. I would not hesitate to make a return visit.”

“The Wyndham is conveniently located in the Queens, close to LaGuardia airport. Despite the proximity to the airport, the windows provide adequate sound insulation for decent night's sleep. The hotel came woefully short on the quality of the beds and pillows. The mattress was too soft for my liking and I invariably woke up with low back issues. The pillows were far too small and inadequate in number. The morning newspapers were not room delivered and were all but gone by 6am. The hotel does have any breakfast available. Parking is good-sized but overpriced at $15 a day by Queens standards. In this day and age, high speed Internet should not be priced at $10 per day and once bought, should be available for 24 hours. At the Wyndham, the Internet connection would automatically disconnect at 3.00pm, no matter when you bought the connection.”
