- Located not too far from the new Mets stadium.
- Needs a refresh a total refresh.
“Location is good, however the hotel needs a revamp. Rooms are out dated and the smoking floor is the 3rd floor smoke rises.
Bar staff was pretty good and food was OK/Not bad.”

- Area-staff very friendly.

“Very nice. If you have a car this is a very good place to stay-parking reasonable-I was able to get everywhere I needed to go pretty quick without a hassle. I would reccomend this hotel. Staff was very nice.”

- I'm afraid with such a bad experience there is nothing to recommend.
- Attitude of desk staff when we said we needed a non smoking room.
“We finally got a decent non smoking room after an hour of arguing. Friends we were traveling with were moved 4 times and then back to what they call a dark room and slept on a Murphy bed.
We would never stay at this hotel or recommend it to anyone. We have booked on Priceline a lot and always have a non smoking king room, never a problem until this hotel. I'm afraid our friends who we just introduced to Priceline were not impressed.”

- Friendly and helpful staff, convenient location.
- Always seems to be a strike, with very loud early morning noise in August.
“Great staff and easy to get to seeing that its across from LGA. I come down for the US Open and the hotel provides a free shuttle. I have been here a number of years and there always seems to be a small number of strikers out front waking guests up at 5 or 6 in the morning. Hotel and Police are good about stopping the noise quickly but a nuisance nonetheless.”

- Too far from the nearest Subway station, no mini bar in room; room are rather plain in comparison to the rest of the hotel.

“What a nice hotel! It was our first time in New York City and we were nervous about getting back and forth to our destinations using public transportation. The staff at the hotel helped us plan all of our transportation and was very friendly and helpful. There is a parking garage on site that was very convenient as well. I would love to stay at this hotel the next time we go to NYC. Very nice, it exceeded our expectations!”

- Less than a mile to Shea Stadium.
- Not the nicest neighborhood walking to Shea.
“The room could use some cosmetic surgery. For business travelers it is very convenient to LaGuardia. The elevator closed on me and trapped my wife inside. After she got out we told the front desk and they laughed. There is no place decent to eat within walking distance of the hotel. The walk to Shea Stadium was dicey at times.”

- Large room and bathroom. Close to highway. Easy check in.
- Outdated room style. Hallway noise could easily be heard in the room. Buffet breakfast was mainly inedible. Poor water pressure in shower.
“It was close to the highway. It has a spacious lobby. The room and bathroom were large. However, the decor of the room was outdated with an old television. The shower had a good showerhead but was low on water pressure. One of the hotel's restaurant's was under renovation so we went to the open one. Buffet breakfast was pitiful. The eggs were the worst I have ever tasted and the bagels were like cardboard. The servers in the restaurant were helpful and were patient with our active 4 year old.”

- They had a shuttle that would take us to the Subway in the morning.
- Some of the staff was not as helpful as others.
“Overall, this is a great hotel to stay in. The rooms were nice. The restaurant has few choices (although the food is excellent) and is expensive. Don't eat at the hotel on a Sunday because they close the restaurant and you are forced to sit in the bar (even with your children), which can be uncomfortable. The non-native New Yorker staff was very helpful.”

- Concierge was excellent, very convenient to LaGuardia.
- Restaurant was under repair when we visited.
“The Crowne Plaza is a full-service hotel conveniently located to LaGuardia International Airport. The rooms are average sized, pretty basic, but tasteful in presentation. They have a pool and workout area that served our purposes well. The restaurant was being renovated when we were there. I didn't notice many places around our hotel to eat, but there was a Marriott a few steps away that had a sports bar, which was fine. There is complementary shuttle service to the airport and to Shea Stadium for Mets games (it may be available for the U.S. Open tennis tournament as well, since they are right next to each other). The concierge was very helpful in getting us to Manhattan using public transportation. Do not drive in New York. There is way too much traffic. Parking was another $13 if you are driving into town. I would recommend this hotel.”

My only complaint, which I did not take up with the management, was a group of noisy teenage girls on an athletic team of some sort who were extremely noisy and inconsiderate of other guests at 1:00 AM. I did ask the girls to be quiet, please, and they finally quieted down about 20 minutes later.”

“The room was reasonably comfortable.The bar staff was awfully inattentive and rude. I waited 10 minutes without anyone saying hello, and then left when nearly every table was unoccupied and covered with the used bottles and plates from previous guests. I saw no wait staff in nearly 20 minutes. Room service was attentive, on time and a good value.”

- The lobby and facade was impressive.
- The room was not impressive. There were leak stains on the ceiling, The rooms were not sound proofed,.
“Noise in adjoining rooms was definitely a problem. The room they gave us was not ready and they had to switch us. They put several of our group in smoking rooms and said that was our only option even though we are not smokers and the rooms stank of smoke. There were leak stains on the ceiling. One of the room's phones had so much static it was difficult to use. There was no fridge in the room. The lobby seemed to be a fancy facade to cover up the fact that the condition of the rooms were below par for 3-3.5 stars. Parking cost $13 a day! I would not stay here again. Too much money for what you get. You also had to pay for time on their lobby computer plus an additional charge for internet time. The wireless connection was poor in all three of our rooms. The staff was helpful and friendly especially the guy who arranged the shuttle for guests. And the wait staff in the lobby bar.”

“The hotel lobby is prone to rowdy guests who give a wrong impression of the facility. The general facilities need some maintenance, specially the parking lot. The rooms are nice and well maintained; staff is courteous and eager to help. Dining is pricy but competitive, could add some lower priced options to make more attractive for dine-ins. Very close to nice neighborhoods for shopping, dining etc.”

- Shuttle service to and from Subway/airport.
- Everything is old.
“Overall OK stay. First night there was no hot water and they were painting the walls on our floor. Other than that shuttle service is priceless taking you to and from Subway, all in all about 1 hour including shuttle and Subway to Times Square couldn't ask for better. At first we were actually surprised this was our hotel as it seemed very nice at night, but it's old and they're busy upgrading it (I think). If you need decent place to stay with excellent on the hour shuttle service, stay here.”

- I like that the staff was friendly and helpful.
- I was in a non-smoking room that was overcome with cigarette smoke from another room. Perhaps it came in through the vent in the bathroom.
“The staff was very accommodating. When I found the room I was assigned on the second floor opened I was offered the Executive suite. It was less than I expected especially since in the morning, there was much noise from children and others early in the morning. Also, at about 10:00 AM, my room became filled with cigarette smoke from another room that either came from the room next door or the bathroom vent. Security came up and could not identify that the non-smoking room next door to mine had someone smoking. I was offered a room change for the hours remaining during my stay.”

“The room was okay but they have plastic cups and all. It is kind of tacky for a hotel guest. There was no fridge or mini wet bar. All listed need to be redone. Not satisfied with the stay.”

- Parking garage is creepy.

“Right across from LGA, this hotel is located in Queens, offers clean rooms and the staff is excellent. Room service is very expensive, paid $17 for a burger, no drink. Would stay again.”

- It is very convenient to the Airport, the staff is very nice, and the rooms clean!
- They did not give us the reservation we had. Had I not had the copy, they where going to put us in a double!

- It's spacious and elegant and gives you a sense of relaxation.
- Costly meals.
