• Safe neighborhood, clean hotel, comfortable beds, free parking.

“The good: This hotel is clean, in a decent, safe neighborhood with convenient access to the subway. Upon returning to our room after spending the evening in Manhattan, our credit card-like keys would not unlock the door. The front desk did not have a record of us having registered. I had to describe what was in the room and they sent a security guard to verify my description of our belongings. After about a half hour, we were finally able to get back into our room. The night manager gave us a voucher for breakfast for our trouble which turned out to be great, as it would have cost $60.00. The invoice we received under our door before checkout still did not have our name on it, but the name of the people who must have had the room before us, so they apparently never did get the registration correct. Generally, our experience here was positive and I would recommend this hotel, however; I don't think I will return because I think it is a little more than I like to pay for a room to sleep in.”

• The view on the higher floors is very nice at night.
• The suites are extremly overpriced for what they are.

“The service was not particularly friendly or knowledgeable. The garage is expensive and the rates change depending on the day. The suite did not have extra towels, robes, a stocked mini bar or complimentary toiletries.”

• Conveniently located in Brooklyn, and easy subway access to downtown Manhattan.
• Not as close to the East river and Brooklyn bridge as I expected from the description.

“Well suited, affordable hotel for the area, and
particularly if you're a weekend visitor. Subway was right around the corner and you're only five minutes from Tribeca/soho.”

• The hotel was convenient to travel the Metro.
• There was no way to turn on the air conditioner and it was too warm.

“The atmosphere was nice, very clean. However, the gym cannot be used until after 9 am on weekends and we could not turn on the air in our room as the hotel said it was shut off for the winter; this was on November 7th weekend.”

• Room was spacious and had desk and sofa chair.
• Closest Subway stop was at the back side of the hotel, at parking entrance.

“We had a king size bed in a basic room on the 5th floor; the room was very big, had a desk, chair and a small love-seat size sofa. The room also had a small mini-fridge, which was very convenient. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the linens were nice, the closet was big and had full length mirror doors. The bathroom was really big and super clean, with extra towels stored in it. The Brooklyn bridge is a short walk. There is a 24-hr drug store nearby, there was a Subway entrance located across from the rear of the hotel. We stayed one night and had no complaints.”

“I would definitely stay at this hotel again. The staff was friendly, the Subway was across the street and Manhattan was only a couple of Subway stops away. The amenities were just as good as midtown hotels but the price was significantly better.”

“Convenient location, about a minute walk from the Subway. The hotel boasts that it houses a Starbucks which would be true if Starbucks was a bartender with two airports of coffee and a few bagels and croissants. The over all condition of the hotel was slightly dirty. My bathroom looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in weeks..”

• Great place to launch a discovery of Brooklyn.
• Wish the pool had been warmer.

“Great hotel for those who do not mind getting "off the beaten track" and may want to discover neighborhoods of Brooklyn, more so than New York City. Although nearby subway stops make Manhattan very convenient, too.”

“We enjoyed this hotel. The gym was huge and the pool nice - Olympic length but only 2 lanes. The bed was comfy and it had a small fridge and coffee maker as well as iron and hair dryer. It was very convenient to the subway line.”

• The staff that was 'on point' was extremely helpful.
• The staff that was not 'on point' was extremely detracting.

“I had a few problems with registration as I was delayed in getting to NY. I probably would have lost the room. However, certain staff did allow me to explain that I could check in late, pay a penalty and keep the room. They may be new to the industry. The room itself was fabulous and the housekeeping staff seems to do an ace job in maintaining them. Physical check in and check out was outstanding. I definitely want to stay here again.”

• I didn't expect a luxuriant feel for a hotel in Brooklyn.
• Don't overshoot the subway stop or take the wrong line. Difficult to backtrack.

“The lobby is expansive, the front desk welcoming, the design and decor are contemporary. The rooms are thankfully and decidedly un Manhattan. It doesn't feel like the walls are closing in on you. On the weekends, I appreciated that the hallways were not teeming with people like all Manhattan hotels. The proximity to Manhattan is unbeatable. 15 minutes by express subway puts you in midtown Manhattan. If I were spending most of my time in Brooklyn, I would stay nowhere else.”

• Sketchy part of town at night with few local amenities. Additional taxes added at check in.

“The Brooklyn Bridge Marriott is located in the heart of Brooklyn near historic Brooklyn Heights. Convenient to all major subway lines, the hotel is a short hop, skip, and train ride away from Manhattan, Coney island, and other Brooklyn attractions. The full service hotel, having recently completed a Tower addition, has outstanding in room amenities including flat screen televisions and an integrated a/v system. The Brooklyn Bridge Marriott allows you all the conveniences of New York City without the traffic, noise, and sky-high prices you find at comparable hotels in Manhattan.”

• This is a great hotel and very close to the subway into Manhattan.
• The night concierge gave us wrong directions for the post office.

“We've been to NYC several times and this is now our favorite hotel. The room was large, clean and the beds were fabulous! It is in a nice area and very close to the several subway station lines to Manhattan, Chinatown, etc. The staff was very friendly, with the exception of the one concierge that just told us the street the post office was on. After we walked for 15 minutes we found the street, but the post office was on a different much closer street.”

“A reasonably priced hotel (especially compared to those on Manhattan) with easy access to Brooklyn and Manhattan. Rooms are very large by NY standards. The rooms are well kept, and the staff is friendly. Parking is attached to the hotel, and is thus very convenient. I recommend it, but leave room for me.”

• I was double charged even though I had already prepaid. My debit/credit card. A nightmare!

“This experience has cost me quite a bit. I incurred excessive charges. I was there to see my mother for the last time. When I got back to Chicago, I then had my check flying all over. This was quite traumatic.”

• The entire hotel was beautiful. I was really impressed with the rooms.
• Liked everything.

“The Brooklyn bridge Marriott was wonderful. Everything from the lobby to the restaurants to the spacious and beautiful rooms was a+++++. The staff was very accommodating, too. We were on a top floor and never had to wait for an elevator. In fact, we were so impressed the next time we come to nick we will stay at this hotel and take the subway ion Manhattan because the location is so great, too.”

• That I had to wait 1 hour before I could get my room.

“It is a beautiful hotel, but not customer service oriented to bring back business. they do not validate for parking, the staff was not on point with my reservation, we were almost put out of our room although when we arrived, I informed the staff that I had two reservations and I requested to stay in the same room, I was assured it was okay, but on Sunday night about 10pm I got a call saying that I would be charge again, although they finally found my second reservation before charging me a different amount, the person who checked us in did not do their job properly. I was not informed that the parking rate would be more on Sunday than what they charge on Saturday.”

“Every year we have our Easter service at the Marriott hotel and spend the entire day their. From 8:00AM almost till midnight in their Ballroom. The availability of rooms makes it even easier to stay and enjoy the entire day there. It is centrally located by stores and restaurants.”

“My church does their annual Easter service at this location and although I live a short distance from there I always stay at the hotel. It is convenient and comfortable. We have even grown to know some of the staff.”

• Location was in great area. Close to everything.
• Staff was cold and unfriendly.

“During check in and check out. Neither staff member gave me eye contact. The contact was very cold. I was made to park my own car. No one gave instructions. I had to search for help down in the parking lot to ask questions. For the price of the rooms, I would have expected mints on the pillows or a newspaper delivered in the morning.”
