“The hotel was ordered based off of convenience. Rooms were out dated and not very clean. Also we had to change our door swipe cards 5 or 6 times in one evening because they would not stay activated. Front desk manager was showing his frustration with visitors and it did not look good for the company.”

• Rooms were a good size and bed was comfortable. Also liked that bedroom had a door that closed off from the rest of the suite.
• Very noisy at night due to clubs and cars in area.

• The mattress on the sofa bed kept falling through the frame. Very uncomfortable to sleep on.

“The hotel was great if there is only 2 of you staying. The sofa bed was horrible to sleep on. The mattress kept falling through frame and I barely slept at all! Otherwise the room was in a great location.”

• Great location to bar district - that is why I chose it.
• The tub was dirty looking, sink was clogged, TV was old, fridge didn't close.

“I think 15 sums it up pretty well. There were a number of problems with the room, but the purpose of the room was a bachelor party and it worked well. We all had enough room (there were 6 of us before we went out and 5 stayed over). The king size bed was large enough for three women.”

“Just one night before flying out of Buffalo airport. Convenient downtown location, about 15 min drive to the airport. Free parking is great, although its a couple of blocks down the road. Would definitely stay there again.”

• The staff was very friendly.
• The parking situation could use some improvement. In the dead of winter no one wants to park their car in a lot down the street.

“The rooms are very spacious and the staff was nothing but friendly. The TGI Fridays restaurant has terrible room service and only mediocre food. It is in a very good location for both business travelers and anyone interested in the bar scene. Walking distance to a number of bars and restaurants.”

• DT Central, close to lounges, restaurants, and the theatre.
• Hotel lobby, elevator could be cleaner.

“Not a bad hotel, central location (down town), close too many bars, lounges, restaurants. Also close to the subway (which is free in one direction). Close to the Theater (Sheas) and an old school movie theatre (kind of cool) very 60's but clean. Close to HSBC Arena and the baseball stadium. Also, free parking and free breakfast. Not a bad spot for the price.”

• The dinette and couch and coffee table was wonderful for visiting.
• Pillows/ minor plumbing problems.

“My sister and I met in Buffalo and wanted a comfortable hotel where we could visit and attend the theatre and be in walking distance of good restaurants. We enjoyed the living room atmosphere for visits and the dinette for sharing our breakfast. Coffee in room was also very good.”

“The bed was like a rock. I can not sleep at night due to the train right on my window. I went to the front desk to change room but could not be done. Overall I will never stay at this hotel again.”

• Suite as opposed to room made it perfect for an extended stay. Location was outstanding.
• A pool would have been a nice addition.

“With a great Downtown location, clean spacious suites and a friendly attentive staff I would recommend Comfort Suites Downtown Buffalo to anyone. TGI Friday is the hotel restaurant, and there are many other great dining experiences to be had within a short walk of Comfort Suites. I look forward to returning there on my next trip to Buffalo.”

• Most of the staff was helpful and friendly.
• Dirty, inconvenient location.

“Although the desk staff was friendly and helpful, the housekeeping staff was poor. The rooms are extremely worn and cleanliness was questionable. The parking is a block and a half away. Location is inconvenient as Main Street is not open to car traffic in front of the hotel.”

“The parking was 2 blocks away and they had no escorts and staff couldn't understand why I asked about it. The appliances were all from at least before 1995, TV remote without batteries. Bed very uncomfortable. Not vacuumed, stains on walls and appliances. Internet and Breakfast were the only highlights.”

“It was fine to only sleep and get up and go. I would not ever go again do to the gloominess of the hotel. I also would not have chosen due to parking purposes, too far and someone from the hotel staff should do that for you.”

• For the price it was great, continental breakfast was very good.
• The room needs a few minor repairs.

“I would not recommend this hotel to another person; it needs updating, and appeared unclean. I itched when sleeping in the bed.”

• I liked that the rooms had a refrigerator and microwave in them. I liked the bedroom separate too.
• The pullout sofa was awful and the mattress on the bed was warped and extremely uncomfortable.

“The location of the hotel was very convenient to downtown attractions such as the theatre and entertainment districts. The parking was free, but the ramp was quite far from the hotel. I liked having TGIF's right there and the breakfast that was included was very good as well. The hotel definitely needs some updating. The beds were very uncomfortable, but the room was clean. I also felt very secure there too. Overall, it is a nice hotel for the price I paid.”

• Room has nice layout, includes a great breakfast in the morning.
• The bath tub looked dirty. It is ok if you just want a shower.

“The staff was very friendly, especially the breakfast guy. The lobby was warm and inviting. Room had a great layout, with two TVs and cute French doors separating bed from sitting area. Very quiet.”

• Close to the falls and in the heart of nightly activities Downtown.
• Room had a dirty bathroom and refrigerator, and the televisions were made in the early 90s.

“This suite was spacious and well designed. I like the fact that you could separate from loved ones if you wanted but very romantic if you didn't. Location was a plus! With downtown bars within blocks and the city trolley at the hotel's front door there was no need for the use of a car. It took 75 cents and a 20-minute drive to get to the falls. TGI Fridays had great meals at a very affordable price and was conveniently located next to the hotel's lobby. Amenities included full cable, high speed internet, and full breakfast all at no additional charge. Now for the bad news, the room's bathroom was very dirty with hairs everywhere. We even had to use our own emergency supply of toilet paper. The televisions were small and pre-1995. Downtown parking was free but once you unloaded the vehicle you had to utilize the lot three blocks away.”

• Hotel staff was rude and overall experience at the hotel was not good.

“The elevators were not working, we were unable to take the stairs up. The hotel staff was rude when I asked them if I could just take the stairs to the second floor. The hotel was in a good location, but the price was far too high for what the room actually was. The room was not clean.”

“This hotel is good for people who have reason to stay downtown. The suites also make it easy for multiple people to share. The breakfast is good, too. Sometimes, the bathroom facilities are not the best. Parking is also a challenge (but that is not unusual for buffalo's downtown.).”

“Absolutely disgusting. We ate the price and left about twenty minutes after checking in. Bed sheets had clearly not been changed (they were wrinkled, contained strangers' hair and were just laying on the dirty mattress, not tucked in. Bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in recent years; toilet seat was dirty, tub grimy. Faucet had toothpaste spots on it. Awful! These people should be ashamed.”

“I was very disappointed with the hotel. The A/C did not work, it was dirty/grimy, the drains were clogged, the sheets were ripped and dirty, and the "smoke-free" rooms smelled like a cigarette box. I have accordingly stopped my charge for this room and expect a credit shortly.”

• Blazing fast excellent Wi-Fi! Wow! Great breakfast.
• It's at downtown, but I'm not a downtown type of gal!

“Very friendly. Parking was a short block away (not a New York block after all) with easy in/out and spaces marked well. The lobby was clean and well-lit at all times. Breakfast was tasty (and we even got sausage - very rare for a continental breakfast bar!) and fresh. The room was older but well maintained (one light fixture didn't work and my king bed got made with queen sheets  but no one is perfect).”

• How the room was set up.
• The motorcycles racing outside all night long so nobody could sleep.

“The hotel its self was good the restaurant messed our order up then said it would be about 25min. before they could fix it so we just keep it right out side our window the first night motorcycles were racing up and down the stripe in front of the hotel so we didn't get any sleep.”

• Parking is disgusting! You have to go two blocks to park.

“It was pouring rain when I arrive the staff was not friendly and did not have a shuttle or an umbrella for any one that needed it. Parking is two blocks away. It's great if you have good weather but horrible if you don't. You can not leave your car for more than 10 minutes in their drop off lot which is not always enough time to get checked in and unloaded or visa versa.”

“The staff doesn't seem to care about guest - they dont greet and seems as we are bothering them by asking for information. The bathrooms (I stayed in two different rooms) are very dirty and management needs to inspect them extremely close.”

• Hotel was close to baseball park and had free parking.
• Parking garage was 2 blocks away which some people may not like.

“Hotel was within walking distance of Buffalo's baseball park which is why I liked it. Room was clean and had free internet. Bed was decently comfortable and room also had fridge and microwave. Would definitely stay here again.”

• Poor guest service, dirty rooms.

“This hotel really needs the management to review guest service with the staff. They never greet incoming guests. Everyone enters via the desk area and the staff never take a moment to greet anyone. Very poor guest service. Rooms management needs to inspect them daily. This was second stay within a week and both rooms had serious issues from hair all over the bathtub/shower unit to poor toilets. Over frosted freezer, stained carpets, dirty coffee makers, missing light bulbs. And I could go on and on. Corporation needs to re-evaluate their relationship with this property.”

• The breakfast was great.
• The room was very dirty, the parking was about 2 blocks away.

“Our experience at this hotel was horrible. We asked for a non-smoking room when we got there the room was reaking with the smell of smoke. The let out bed had dirty sheets from the last guest. The bathroom was dirty and had smears of something on the walls. There was hair on the bathroom floor and the carpet had not been swept. Not to mention, we had late check-in because we were coming from out of town to visit, we arrived at 1:00am and had to walk about 2 blocks to park. They should have had a shuttle or something for guests or at least let you know ahead of time that parking is not adjacent to the hotel. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with comfort suites. I will never stay or recommend family or friends to stay in Comfort suites.”

• Good location, large suite for the price.
• Cold water did not work at times.

“Decent basic hotel in a good convenient location. Bed was hard, bathroom sink did not drain fast enough, and cold water was intermittent, but overall a decent stay for the price. Front desk staff was helpful. Free parking at garage 2 blocks away is not truck friendly -SUVs may be tight for height clearance.”
