• The rooms are great, the staff kind, the pool big !
• The breakfast is expensive but still OK.

“Really nice place, feels great and relaxing. Two big pools and a place for the kids. A good business center with free internet. It was really a good time. About 15 minutes of car from downtown.”

• The staff made any inconvenience less substantial, and the location was GREAT!
• The bathtub was not as it was advertised on Hilton's site, and the "Resort" status was generous.

“I absolutely will stay here again if for no other reason that the hotel's proximity to Sea World. The staff was gracious and helpful, the hotel offered nightly Marshmallow roasting and S'more making with an outdoor kid's movie, which was great for our 3 year old daughter. If you are expecting to stay at a "Resort" resort, then book the Hyatt, as I've read, this place is nice, but "Resort" it is not.”

• The bed was great, the air conditioning was effective and quiet, and it was a beutiful setting.
• The maid service missed several things, and the diverter on the shower was very stiff.

“We were in town for basic training graduation at Lackland AFB. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the Valley Hi (Airman's) Gate. (It's less than five minutes from Seaworld.) The courtyard is beutifully landscaped, and the firepits and movies at night on wall of the hotel are great for families. There are three pools, including a small lap pool and a wading pool with water spouts in the wall between it and the main pool. The high speed Internet in the rooms is $10/day, but the business center has two fast computers with broadband and a color laser printer. The lobby has 54 g wireless. Our regular room was adequate if not spacious, and the bathroom was very roomy, especially the shower. We appreciated the HD TV. We did have to ask for a couple of items that ran out in the bathroom over our five day stay, the maids missed some crumbs on a night stand, the toilet clogged once, and a room service cart with leftovers was left in the hallway for several hours, even after we notified the front desk. The front desk was very cordial, and at one time delivered some requested items to our room within minutes. Overall, our experience was excellent, and we would stay there again and recommend it to our friends.”

• Pool area and party on Friday nights.
• Rooms with no couch.

“The hotel was nice but we made reservations for 4 and we received a (1) king size bed room with no couch. Customer service stated for 50.00 more a night we could get a double bed room. I use priceline all the time and have never encountered this problem. Most hotels will give you double bed upon request. We stayed for 4 nights and 1 morning they did not clean the room and one night the plumbing did not work. We had to call the front desk to have someone come and fix. They did not offer another room. Thank goodness we did not need to take a shower at that time and the toilet leaked. We called to check in early but that was not possible. Hope a family of 4 that is going to Sea World does not get this hotel.”

• Fire pits for roasting marshmallows at night.
• There were squares cut out of the sheet rock in our room that had not been repaired yet.

“This hotel was great to come home to every night. The shuttle to and from Sea World was great and the drivers were very friendly. The pools were clean and well kept. The kids pool was an added bonus since we have a small child. Our favorite part of the hotel was the four fire pits that they lit every night. You can purchase a smores package at the front desk for $4 and roast marshmallows under the Texas stars. It was a great hotel!”

• The hotel atmosphere was superb!

“The staff in your lobby area on the the evening of Friday, 5/29/09, was great. A lady clerk assisted me with my questions as to getting a room for the next evening and advised me of the Happy Hour and the music would play until 10 pm. We had the best time in the lounge area while my daughter went swimming. The 2 women you had working in the bar area that night were not very friendly or quick to service my husband & I at all. That sort of bothered me but I wasn't going to allow it to dampen my mood. We made several trips to the bar and each time, they took their sweet time to assist us. Their demeanor and quick service towards the other patrons was definitely noted by myself and my friends that were with us.”

“The hotel was wonderful. It was immaculately clean and provided superior service. There is an excellent pool area for small children separate from the larger pool, as well as a small playground. The public areas are scenic and easily accessible.”

“I understand this hotel has recently changed hands and is undergoing remodeling. Small problems were light bulbs out in lamps, room service food didn't have ingredients as listed on menu, cheesecake had
no fresh strawberries and the Peasant salad came with
no avocado whatsoever. Serious issue: the shower bench (for handicapped room) had a screw and washer missing on one of the legs! Luckily, I always check before using something like that. To the hotel's credit, I must say that they responded to each and every problem that came up so I think that when the transition period is over, all will be good there. However, this particular stay wasn't that great but I'm not blaming staff as they seem to be trying very hard to improve the standards.”

“It's in disrepair and very dirty. Terrible menu, no staff. Had to ask to have room cleaned after being gone all day. Pool/Hot Tub in need of resurfacing. No doorman. One lady for the bar/outdoor area. Just not quality. More Motel 8 with better furnishings.”

“I had a wonderful time at this hotel, while the first room I was shown to was very, very small. When I went down stairs and asked for a larger room, ( I was staying 6 nights) I was treated with respect and efficiency. I was given instantly and for a very nice cost. The tub and shower made me smile every time I used them, and the housekeeping staff did a wonderful job every day. Way to go, I will stay again if I ever have the chance.”

“We had a very relaxing stay. The rooms were a bit smaller than anticipated. The pool are was locked up in the middle of the afternoon, but no signs were posted. The lobby bar had terrific food and the wait staff was pleasant.”

• It was close to Sea world and free shuttle to Sea world.

“This hotel would be good for a business traveler. I do not think the rooms was that attractive? The bathroom marble was nice; however there was not enough lighting in there. Also, the tub was not draining out; it took 30 minutes for it to drain. They had to call a engineer to look at the problem. I expected more from a hotel that consider them a Resort and Spa.

Our bathroom tub area leaked, wallpaper loose, dirt/dust around baseboards very evident. I was very disappointed. We were very blessed that the front desk allowed us different accommodations.”

• The location of the hotel to Sea World was AWESOME!
• Everything costs extra!

“Overall our family enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was clean and very close to our main destination, Sea World and within about 10 minutes to Fiesta Texas. The room was a little smaller than expected but good for the main purpose of sleeping. We really liked the smaller and more shallow pool for our 3 year old. Would stay here again.”

“I think the hotel is great for families traveling to SeaWorld. However, I think they need to accommodate room sizes to meet travelers needs. Shuttle was excellent but 6 cars were broken in to overnight so I think they need hotel security on grounds monitoring the parking lot. I was disappointed there was no free coffee considering price of this hotel room.”

“Great hotel if you are going to visit Sea World. I would recommend this hotel to families, as it is quite noisy with kids running up and down the hallways at all hours. Limited parking is available. Shuttle to Sea World is great. Common areas are beautiful and staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms are small compared to other places I have stayed at and they are very plain.”

• The evening entertainment was excellent.
• The fact that children were allowed to run loose, up and down the elevators and up and down the halls.

• Broken hot tub, rude staff, high prices on everything, building not aging well.

“Upon arrival things got off to a bad start when the desk staff tried to charge an extra $25 per night for the room because they said it was summer and they were a family friendly hotel which meant they were in high demand. The plaster in and around the pool area was all cracked and breaking off. The hot tub was not working and when I asked if it would be fixed soon, I was told that it had been broken for several weeks and probably wouldn't be fixed any time soon. The last time I stayed at this hotel it was very enjoyable, but this time not so much.”

• Check-in employee was less than friendly and helpful. We had to return to front desk for resort information that should have been provided.

“This resort is perfect for a trip to San Antonio. Located less than 5 minutes from Sea World and only a short drive (20 minutes) from the Riverwalk, it has the feel of a secluded resort without being miles from the action. Family movies are shown nightly in the courtyard, and smore kits can be purchased for $3 and used on the fire pits scattered throughout the courtyard. The three pools are perfect for a nightly swim after a long day at the park or sightseeing. Hotel staff is quick to respond to any questions or concerns. This was our second stay at the resort, and we'll definitely return.”

“The room felt so filthy. The A/C vents in the room and the bathroom had molds and the tub wasn't so clean. I can see soap mold around the corners of the tub. The comforters were torn on the right side corner. It seemed like the down comforters weren't washed. It felt dirty and was itchy all night long from the comforters. I wouldn't recommend if you are a clean freak person like me. We had to check out early because it just felt so filthy inside the room.”

“It is a very good hotel, my kids enjoyed the pool and the marshmallows at night, the room have a normal size. I recommend this hotel, and if you are planning to go to sea world and six flags the location is fantastic.”

“The napkins looked and felt 10 years old. The bottom of the pool was dirty and the restaurant floor was dirty like a movie theater. My room did not have a sleep number bed. The management could make great improvements with little effort.”

• They put us in a room that was to small.

“Overall the hotel was nice. It is listed as a resort but should not be. The pools were small, and while they tried to have little special things for the kids, that in itself doesn't make the hotel a resort. They said they couldn't guarantee. Well when we arrived they had us in these little rooms with king size beds. So then they brought in rollaway beds. With the beds in the room there was no room to use the desk or other chair. Basically the room was full. It made for a trying time with the kids. I've had much nicer rooms in a two star hotel. The only reason I gave it a three star rating is the lobby and deck were very nice. That didn't matter much to me as I was at Sea World all day.”

• I liked the family friendly atmosphere. The activities offered by the hotel were enjoyed by the whole family.
• It would be nice if more restaurants where available in the area.

“Our recent stay was probably one of the better experiences that we've had in a long time. The room was comfortable and clean, the pools were nice. The whole family enjoyed the fire pits and smores as well as the movie. The activities kept us from being cooped up in our room. This was a great place to stay and celebrate the end of summer with our family. We will definitely come again!”

• 3 swimming pools and the nightly movies which the kids loved. Very close to Sea World and the shuttle was outstanding.
• Room was too small. The hotel could not meet our request. We had problems with the door, getting into room.

“Not what I expected being that it was classified as a resort. Very disappointing. The kids had a good time very kid friendly. Being so close to Sea World made the trip worth it. The shuttle was great but everything else was just OK.”
