• The location was convenient.
• The AC was bad, they tried to bump me to another hotel.

“ When I arrived at the hotel, I was told it was booked solid, and they moved me to another location 10 miles away. I told her I was from out of town, I was not familiar with the area and did not want to be moved. I told her my reservation was guaranteed. The desk clerk asked if I'd like to speak to the manager and I told her I would. She called the manager, and miraculously a room became available. The AC did not work and the room stunk. It was not Priceline's fault, but I would not want to stay at the Extended Stay hotel again. The hotel was not anywhere close to being full. If they didn't like the price I offered, they shouldn't have accepted the reservation. ”

• The location was off the highway and very convenient.
• Smell, I believe carpet was in need of cleaning.

“Hotel was okay, I was a little disturbed that the door was locked and virtually closed when I arrived at 1 am. This was not inviting at all!”

• The layout of the room is very convenient and it is nice to have the option of a kitchen!
• I could hear the people upstairs when they were walking across their floor.

“The Extend Stay Deluxe is a very convenient place to stay in the western part of Columbia (Irmo). It is located right on I -26 with an easy entrance to downtown. The staff at the hotel is very friendly and go out of their way to provide everything you need. It is the only place we stay when we are in Columbia, SC.”

“Very good location once you know your way around. Staff is helpful, friendly and professional. Breakfast is only adequate. I only had some coffee. I didn't appreciate the bass boats and Wal-Mart vehicles taking up the prime parking area and reserving their spaces with orange cones.”

• Did not feel totally clean; carpets in hall and elevators dirty, etc.

“When we went into room, unpacked; ready to leave, went to bathroom; would not flush; asked desk person to fix while we would be out - she said no maintenance person; we should move to another room - had to re-pack; empty drinks from fridge, etc., and move - extended stay concept had several individuals standing around with "big" cartons of beer, not sure good for families; coffee pot did not work - coffee ran out all over counter; bedspread had tear; awakened by someone in pool at 2:00 a.m.; no continental breakfast, anything on weekend (there was coffee); room just did not feel clean.”

• The kitchenette is nice to have.
• I could hear people opening and closing door when I was trying to go to sleep.

• The room and facilities were much nicer than I anticipated.
• The breakfast or snacks in the dining area were awful.

“Overall, staying at this hotel was an excellent experience. It is definitely one that I have recommended to my friends and family already. As well, I plan to stay in other hotels from the same chain.”

• Very nice and good size room with all the amenities I needed.
• Breakfast choices could be a little better.

“We enjoyed our stay here and it was all we needed and more. Very comfortable. The breakfast choices could be upgraded to include something else besides bagels and fruit. Maybe some muffins and some juices.”

• The room was very large wit lots of space. DVD player a plus!
• The wireless internet service had a charge for use. Most hotels have free wireless these days.

“We enjoyed our stay. The large room and kitchen made it a great experience since we were traveling with a young child. The hotel was clean and comfortable.”

• It was easy to get to from the interstate.
• The bathroom was not as clean as it should be.

“It's a place to sleep. Nothing fancy. The bathroom was not as clean as I would have liked. The only convenience items were an extra roll of TP and a small bar of soap. They said they had a heated pool, but it was icy cold!”

• I liked the fact that I got a king suite for less than the price of a double.
• I had two roaches in my room. One in the kitchen and one in my bed. Yeah, me too.

“It was a great stay for the price. On the weekend they only have coffee in the lounge area which was fine. As a business solo traveler, I liked the option of being able to cook in my room.”

• It was much nicer than I expected. It was a suite complete with kitchen.
• There was nothing I didn't like.

“The staff of the hotel were jump over the counter friendly. The room was very spacious with king sized bed, a couch, dining table and chairs. The kitchen area had a full size refrigerator, microwave and small cook top. The room was clean.”

• I loved having kitchenette in my room.
• Staff was not helpful.

“Staff was not cooperative in giving us the type of room we needed (two double beds). When we called ahead, they told us we could have that. Toilet clogged up and when we asked for assistance, they simply provided us with a plunger. Front desk staff was snippy.”

• Hotel is not smoke-free and it smelled of cigarette smoked even on smoke-free floors.

“I would rate this hotel above average as far as appearance and hotel staff. Also the room was well equipped and spacious. However, this is not a smoke-free hotel which was disappointing because even though I was on a smoke free floor there is obviously a lot of smoking happening. The stench of cigarette smoke woke me during the nights. Also there was a stench in the elevator. I notified the hotel staff, but that did not appear to have any affect on the stench.”

• Beautiful on the outside.
• Several things broken in the room, toilet never fixed, continental breakfast has hardly any food/fruit as promised.

“We were absolutely disappointed in this hotel. They had to switch our room 2 other times, due to our toilet never getting fixed, no clean linens, and then a room with stains all over the floor and a horrible smell. There were light bulbs that wouldn't work, a broken TV stand and a drain that wouldn't drain. We were very disappointed.”

• Had a smoky/odd smell. TV hard to see except from 1 chair.

• The hotel was only 5min from the bowling lanes where we bowl in a tournament.
• No continental breakfast on weekend.

• The decor of the hotel was very fresh.
• First time in an extended stay hotel, but all areas of our needed to make sure were clean.

“I would stay here again, just would like it if hotel management would enforce and or ensure smoking in certain areas and rooms, as a non smoking family, a room for non smokers, yet smells of smoke, is a huge turn off to the hotel.”

• That it does not have automatic doors at the entry, making it difficult to open when carrying luggage.

“This hotel was a frog trying to be a prince. It was poorly built; you could feel the floor give as you walked down the hall. The room had fairly new carpet, etc but it had a few hairs in the tub. It looked ok but did not feel clean. The staff was friendly but was not dressed for success.”

• The front desk clerk was gone, not what was expected with guaranteed late night arrival.

“Nice hotel, clean. The staff was not overly friendly or organized. We arrived around midnight and the cleaning staff had to let us in. The rooms were not what we'd called and asked for, but she could not change them, as she had no computer access. We'd just gotten into the rooms after half an hour, and the fire alarm went off. Seemingly, nobody there knew what to do. Overall, the hotel was nice, but the experience was not.”

• They have the best king size beds for sleeping in any hotel around.
• The Fire Alarm went off at 12:am. No fire, and likely a prank. No fun.

“This is actually the third time we have stayed at this hotel in Irmo, SC. Each time we have been happy with the accommodations. We would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area, and wanted to stay in a clean comfortable room. They do not have any type of breakfast for their guest.”

• Rooms are large and has a nice work area with comfortable desk and chair.
• Refg. is to loud, and limited channels on TV. Have to pay extra for wireless internet.

“I love staying here. I have stayed there three or four times. The rooms are great, with a full size kitchen. I have stayed in four different locations in Columbia, this is the best. America Suits cost more and the rooms are smaller.”

• The location was excellent for the purpose of our trip.
• The staff member Anthony that checked us in was RUDE!

“On first impression, we were disappointed because Anthony was so RUDE at check-in and throughout encounters during the day Sat. The hotel itself was very nice and perfectly located. The manager took care of us upon check-out Sunday when we expressed our experiences with Anthony. He was very apologetic, compensated us for our trouble. He was excellent. ”

• Nice lobby and continental breakfast Monday AM
• The room was supposed to be non-smoking but it reaked of smoke.

“Great location, clean lobby, but they do not do daily maid service because of the Extended Stay aspect. Weekend staff not very accomodating, if you do not have your wake up call in by 11 there is no staff on duty from 11-6. I guess for 2 stars what do you expect, but for the same $$ I have stayed at Hyatt Hotels.”

“I had two problems with the room on this reservation:1 -The hotel booked me into a smoking room and would not allow a change. I normally stay in non-smoking rooms.2- I arrived at 2:30pm and the hotel would not allow check in at that time, despite the fact that rooms were available.”
