Jeffrey from York,PA
“We had to wait over 45 minutes after our check in time of 3 PM for our room to be ready. Hotel staff made no concessions for our inconvenience. They claimed no manager was on duty that day and they would not call one. Several other families had to wait for rooms as well. When we got to the room, the toilet was clogged, the TV remote did not work, we had no hot water, the comfort controls for the bed did not work and phone line was static, we had no ice machine on our floor.” Jan 23, 2009 by
Will from Lynchburg,VA
“The entire staff was excellent. I've been staying at this hotel over and over again and each time I've stayed I've enjoyed it more and more. This time I visited the fitness room all I could say was wow. Big fitness space I felt like I was at a gym. I really enjoy my visits to the Norfolk area now. Keep up the good work Radission.” Jan 8, 2009 by
William from Lynchburg,VA
“The hotel was a great place to stay. Every time I stay it just keeps getting better. The entire staff at this hotel is wonderful especially the front desk. Check in was fast and check out was fast. This hotel is great and I recommend it to everyone. I will be staying again.” Dec 2, 2008 by
Earl from California,MD
“The first morning, no soap. Requiring 2 phone calls to front desk. Room not made up 11/25/08. Room partially made on 11/26/08. Bed and ventilation were comfortable.” Dec 1, 2008 by
Shoban. from Glen Burnie,MD
“Great hotel to stay with family or friends.” Sep 23, 2008 by

“The hotel was very clean. The staff was very professional. They took care of every request, need and concern in a very quick manner. The food was great. The breakfast hostess/waitress was fantastic and she had such a joyful personality. The entrance needs to be redesigned to have easier access for handicapped people. Those steps leading to the parking area are just too steep and too many for elderly and handicapped persons. There should also be directional signs to show you where the hotel entrance is.” Sep 11, 2008 by
Nickola from Virginia Beach, VA
“The hotel needs to be remodeled. The plaster from the ceiling was peeling in my room. The walls are paper thin. The lobby looks much better than the rest of the hotel. I stayed on the top floor, but I had to go down to ground floor to find an ice machine that worked.” Sep 10, 2008 by
“Very dirty inside and out. I would Sep 4, 2008 by

“For the price, this hotel is highly recommended. It is close to nearly everything and right across the street from the scope, which is like a coliseum or arena for concerts and sports events. Best of all the parking was free. This was not the case at nearby hotels. It is very secure because the parking is kind of underneath the hotel and hard for nearby residents to come in and out.” Sep 4, 2008 by
Kyle
“Hotel was nice and clean - not in the best neighborhood, but felt reasonably safe.” Sep 4, 2008 by
Matt
“Bed seemed unclean, ceiling Sep 3, 2008 by

“The is not at all a good hotel for anyone to reside in with family, friends, and definitely hazardous for little children. There was trash and cockroaches in the vending machine and ice room. There was a Hugh hole in the wall, low enough for my son to stick his whole arm through. The bathroom ceiling is separating from the walls. Not to mention my husband had to clean the bathtub before we could bath the children. Not to mention staff could not find any cleaner for the tub. And the children still had to stand on plastic bags. We feared getting out of bed during the night because the cockroaches are Hugh in there. The whole hotel trip was such a disaster that we would leave all day and come back as late as we could to avoid the hotel room. Did I forgot to mention that the hotel is in one of the badest neighborhood in the downtown Norfolk area. So needless to say, coming in late don't do you no good when you fear being robbed on the way to the hotel lobby. I won't not recommend this hotel to anyone. Not even a homeless shelter. No one should be subject under those conditions. I'm just glad that my family and I left out there in one piece and home safely.” Sep 3, 2008 by
Cheryl from Richmond, VA
“I will more than likely not stay at this property again. Two squirrels somehow made it to the elevators, fridge was not useable based on the rusting the racks had on it. The sleep number bed was very nice. Not enough handicap parking. Parking for check-in was very limited and hard to maneuver around with hotel vans and what few handicap parking that was available took up a large amount of space for temporary parking.” Aug 21, 2008 by
Lenda from Venice, CA
“Very nice hotel. very clean. It just needs some remodeling. Staff was very friendly.” Aug 1, 2008 by
Robin from New York, NY
“There was some parts of the hotel that needed some TLC, but we were overall happy with the place.” Aug 1, 2008 by
Janice from Houston, TX
“We would be very apprehensive to stay in a Radisson again. They even ran out of coffee to put in the rooms and made no effort to do anything about it.” Jul 31, 2008 by
Robin from Greensboro, NC
“The overall stay was okay. The staff so helpful, the pool was clean and my younger daughter enjoyed it.” Jul 27, 2008 by
Richard from Fredericksburg, VA
“Nice enough hotel. Clean and staff nice.” Jul 22, 2008 by
Tammy from Fort Defiance, VA
“The beds were great. Comfortable and clean. The wall paper was falling off. There was plaster on the floor and the air conditioner was dirty. The bathroom was out dated. I can never deal with dirtiness.” Jul 21, 2008 by
Shawn from Williamsburg, VA
“The common areas of the hotel are very dingy, dark hallways and peeling wallpaper. The halls smell bad. the rooms themselves are very nice and comfortable. poor TV reception. The hotel offered no compensation for waking us up 2 nights in a row at midnight. I would not stay there again.” Jul 12, 2008 by
K from Bronx, NY
“This is a totally adequate, clean, well-kept place to spend the night. No charm or class, however.” Jul 11, 2008 by
William from Jacksonville, FL
“The fridge, microwave and comfort bed were a pleasant surprise. That's all folk's, the location (unless you have business at the Scope) is terrible, in the heart of low income housing, only two of the four elevators worked, you just have to press the button to the floor you want four times. This hotel had probably the worst parking lot I have seen (other than NY, ATL and Chicago,) there is no elevator access and it floods.” Jul 9, 2008 by
Diane from Carlisle, PA
“It was awful. Radisson should be ashamed. I was shocked. It was terrible. Smelled like it had caught on fire, nothing was working, location was shady, parking and loading/ unloading was awful, pool was bad, walls peeling, bathrooms filthy. Will never go to a Radisson again. People must have lived in this hotel. Doors were decorated like college dorms. Young kids everywhere and up all night.” Jul 9, 2008 by
Santosh from Ashburn, VA
“A good experience! Will definitely suggest to family and friends and visit again!” Jul 3, 2008 by
Mel from Richmond, VA
“The location is convenient to downtown Norfolk. The rooms in this hotel are nice. The lobby, hallways etc are not and are very shabby and look dirty. The night we stayed there were very loud and rude guests staying on our floor, banging the doors at all hours repeatedly, which really ruined our stay. The staff were not helpful when I complained. There were weird people rooming around the hallways at 4 am in the morning, I wish they had better security, I didn't feel very safe.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Christina from Harrisburg, PA
“When we arrived to our room, the carpets were musty, the bathroom lights didn't work, and the wallpaper was peeling off the wall.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Antonia from Richmond, VA
“Everything about the hotel was great. The front desk staff and housekeeping was extremely courteous, friendly, and accommodating. The only negative was the overzealous housekeeper the morning of our checkout. She knocked on the door before 9am on a Saturday (check out isn't noon). I informed her that we wouldn't be checking out until noon. She returned at 11:30 and 11:45, not knocking, just letting herself in both times. The last time she said that she would come back at 12:30. That was annoying. Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel and using your "do not disturb" tag which our room did not have.” Jun 30, 2008 by
Alvin from High Point, NC
“The hotel is old which is okay but it is not clean. Mold and mildew in the bathrooms and bugs in the pool. I was too scared to order from the restaurant.” Jun 4, 2008 by
Donzal from Bowli, MD
“The people were nice the room was great and I would do it again in a heart beat.” Jun 3, 2008 by
Je from Arlington, VA
“The staff was helpful, but the hotel was dark, dirty and in ill repair.” May 28, 2008 by
Stan from Petersburg, VA
“Hotel is in an excellent location. But my first room had hair in the bathroom floor, behind the door near the tub. Also, rooms had an old smell about them.” May 21, 2008 by
Lee from Jacksonville, FL
“The staff was extremely helpful. The view was spectacular and the location was perfect. It's a great place to stay if you are out on business or visiting for pleasure.” May 21, 2008 by
Jacqueline from Raleigh, NC
“We thoroughly enjoyed everything!” May 2, 2008 by
Aiman from Fairfax, VA
“Nice place and safe parking is free coffee machine was so dirty.” Apr 27, 2008 by
William from Fredericksburg, VA
“I didn't really like the location. I stayed lost most of the time, trying to get around. The hotel is off the beaten path and a chore to find local restaurants and shopping.” Apr 14, 2008 by
Tina from Mebane, NC
“Hotel is in a good location. They need to renovate. There were a lot of spots on the walls and in the ceilings of the bathroom that had been patched up, but not in an attractive manner. Bathroom door looked like it had been kicked in before.” Mar 13, 2008 by
Jamilla from Matthews, NC
“The hotel lobby was nice but when we turned the hall to get to our room it was horrible. The room was dirty; the walls were pealing, cracking, and leaking. The hotel staff put a bucket in the hallway to catch the dripping water and did not apologize for the inconvenience. The TV was not working when we got to the room. The drain in the bathtub had hair and gunk in it! I was scared to walk on the carpet without my shoes.” Mar 13, 2008 by
Robert from Norfolk, VA
“I like this hotel I have stayed here quite a few times staff is very helpful and courteous. The only thing is that they need to do a some repair work to the rooms and hallways.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Ronald from Washington, DC
“Overall the stay was good and I would stay there again. I would not accept a room in that particular area of the hotel.” Feb 13, 2008 by
Mike from Basset, VA
“If you need access to Downtown Norfolk or Ghent, then this is a great place to stay.” Feb 7, 2008 by
Kim from Sneads Ferry, NC
“Overall very pleasant stay clean and friendly staff. I stayed in February staff was limited but the hotel was a three star I usually stay at the Sheraton but I will stay ay the Radisson in the future.” Jan 27, 2008 by
William from Fredericksburg, VA
“I stay in this hotel regularly when I'm in the Norfolk area.” Jan 24, 2008 by
Gerry from Lebanon, NJ
“Not crowded in the middle of winter, so we had all facilities to ourselves. Didn't stay long enough to make use of anything.” Dec 15, 2007 by
Kevin from Fairfax, VA
“I have no clue why this hotel is getting such poor reviews. My room was wonderful, the lobby seemed very nice (and decked out for the holidays), it had easy parking, the staff was friendly, and the specialty beds, if you know how to read instructions, were extremely comfortable. It makes no pretensions of being a 5 star hotel, but paying a 1 star price for a 2.5 star hotel makes for a great stay.” Dec 5, 2007 by
Diane from Norfolk, VA
“I am sorry that my experience was so bad. In my first 20 minutes I had to have all the linens in my room changed. I helped the housekeeper change and remake the bed. The staff never even offered a refund or reduction. I will not recommend that hotel to anyone. There are holes in the hallway ceilings from obvious water damage. Very poor quality hotel.” Nov 28, 2007 by
Nick from Middletown, NY
“The room we were in had tons of spackle and other various wall pieces falling off, the tub had rust stains around it, the hairdryer was poorly connected to the outlet, the sleep number beds were too small and uncomfortable (like sleeping on a glorified air-mattress, btw), the view, although not the hotel it selfs fault, was less than exciting, restaurant was way overpriced, and Pray that you don't have a wide vehicle, or you'll have a ball trying to get down the ramp to the parking garage. Overall, this hotel should probably be avoided, unless you want a nice place to trash, because it shouldnt really get much worse.” Nov 20, 2007 by
Tyler from Norfolk Va
“You couldnt do any better at the 2 other local hotels; Marriott and Sheraton are at least double the price! And $25.00 to park. I have attended several meetings and banquets at the Radisson hotel and I am always blown away by food quality and service catering dept is outstanding! Myself and co workers have never had any problem parking our cars or being bothered the neighborhood is fine!” Nov 19, 2007 by
Kimberly from Richmond, VA
“Enjoyed my stay overall; had loud neighbors the 2nd night, and security jumped on it right away and we were pleased; convenient to everything; staff was very nice and helpful, although I was ready to relax at 8 p.m. And my room had not been cleaned at all. I liked the free parking especially that was hassle free. Ate at the pub/bar in the hotel; food was okay. Wished that the nice restaurant was open during dinner hours, there's an old stale odor throughout the hotel, and I think it's because the carpet needs to be cleaned badly. But I would stay there again this is my second time in about 3 years, and Id recommend it to my co workers.” Nov 19, 2007 by
Woody from Roanoke, VA
“Room was nice; bed was awesome sleep number mattress! Bathroom a little dirty, some mold on the wallpaper near the bathtub. Restaurant needed more menu choices.” Nov 10, 2007 by
Shavon from Portsmouth, VA
“I will never stay at hotel again (not even for free). The east and west wings need a serious remodel. I can't speak for the tower because I didn't stay in that area. We asked for a tower room but were denied. The hallways leading to the room had dirty carpet and were very old looking. It definitely did not give the feel of a 2 1/2 star hotel. The room itself was okay. The bathroom could have been cleaned better and the toilet had problems. At first it kept running for a long time after it was flushed and it eventually overflowed in the morning as I was preparing to leave. I left about 5 minutes after I called the front desk but no one ever came to the room.”
