  • Hotel was recently redecorated.
  • TV remote did not work, no hot water, toilet was clogged.

“We had to wait over 45 minutes after our check in time of 3 PM for our room to be ready. Hotel staff made no concessions for our inconvenience. They claimed no manager was on duty that day and they would not call one. Several other families had to wait for rooms as well. When we got to the room, the toilet was clogged, the TV remote did not work, we had no hot water, the comfort controls for the bed did not work and phone line was static, we had no ice machine on our floor.”

  • Everything was great.

“The entire staff was excellent. I've been staying at this hotel over and over again and each time I've stayed I've enjoyed it more and more.This time I visited the fitness room all I could say was wow. Big fitness space I felt like I was at a gym. I really enjoy my visits to the Norfolk area now. Keep up the good work Radission.”

  • The staff was great, the room was clean. Location was great.
  • There was nothing that I didn't like.

“The hotel was a great place to stay. Every time I stay it just keeps getting better. The entire staff at this hotel is wonderful especially the front desk. Check in was fast and check out was fast. This hotel is great and I recommend it to everyone. I will be staying again.”

  • The staff was wonderful.
  • The outside entrance to the hotel was not good. There were only three handicap spaces and it was very awkward walking up & the outside stairs.

“The hotel was very clean. The staff was very professional. They took care of every request, need and concern in a very quick manner. The food was great. The breakfast hostess/waitress was fantastic and she had such a joyful personality. The entrance needs to be redesigned to have easier access for handicapped people. Those steps leading to the parking area are just too steep and too many for elderly and handicapped persons. There should also be directional signs to show you where the hotel entrance is.”

  • The price.
  • I had to change rooms because bathroom was dirty in first room.

“The hotel needs to be remodeled. The plaster from the ceiling was peeling in my room. The walls are paper thin. The lobby looks much better than the rest of the hotel. I stayed on the top floor, but I had to go down to ground floor to find an ice machine that worked.”

  • Staff was very friendly and was eager to address the one concern that I did have. wonderful experience.
  • Initially had concerns about the location, quickly learned that the hotel is very secure and a safe place to stay.

“For the price, this hotel is highly recommended. It is close to nearly everything and right across the street from the scope, which is like a coliseum or arena for concerts and sports events. Best of all the parking was free. This was not the case at nearby hotels. It is very secure because the parking is kind of underneath the hotel and hard for nearby residents to come in and out.”

  • The cable.
  • The cockroaches, separating walls, dirty tub, holes in the wall.

“The is not at all a good hotel for anyone to reside in with family, friends, and definitely hazardous for little children. There was trash and cockroaches in the vending machine and ice room. There was a Hugh hole in the wall, low enough for my son to stick his whole arm through. The bathroom ceiling is separating from the walls. Not to mention my husband had to clean the bathtub before we could bath the children. Not to mention staff could not find any cleaner for the tub. And the children still had to stand on plastic bags. We feared getting out of bed during the night because the cockroaches are Hugh in there. The whole hotel trip was such a disaster that we would leave all day and come back as late as we could to avoid the hotel room. Did I forgot to mention that the hotel is in one of the badest neighborhood in the downtown Norfolk area. So needless to say, coming in late don't do you no good when you fear being robbed on the way to the hotel lobby. I won't not recommend this hotel to anyone. Not even a homeless shelter. No one should be subject under those conditions. I'm just glad that my family and I left out there in one piece and home safely.”

  • Hotel was close to NSU campus and area shopping mall.
  • The room was okay yet the refrigerator was awful, dingy & dirty. Could not use if I wanted to.

“I will more than likely not stay at this property again. Two squirrels somehow made it to the elevators, fridge was not useable based on the rusting the racks had on it. The sleep number bed was very nice. Not enough handicap parking. Parking for check-in was very limited and hard to maneuver around with hotel vans and what few handicap parking that was available took up a large amount of space for temporary parking.”

  • The only good thing about the hotel was the sleep number bed.
  • The room was in much disrepair with actual holes in the walls. The bathroom had to be cleaned by us before use.

  • The beds were great. Your could adjust the firmness.
  • We had to walk forever to get to the pool.

  • The room itself was attractive, clean and had very comfortable beds. Good shower pressure.
  • Woke up 2 nights in a row at midnight. once a false alarm fire evacuation. Next night someone trying to get in our room they had put as unoccupied.

“The common areas of the hotel are very dingy, dark hallways and peeling wallpaper. The halls smell bad. the rooms themselves are very nice and comfortable. poor TV reception. The hotel offered no compensation for waking us up 2 nights in a row at midnight. I would not stay there again.”

  • WiFi access and comfort beds, refrigerator and microwave in room.
  • Location, view of only low income housing, elevators need new wiring, parking lot floods.

“The fridge, microwave and comfort bed were a pleasant surprise. That's all folk's, the location (unless you have business at the Scope) is terrible, in the heart of low income housing, only two of the four elevators worked, you just have to press the button to the floor you want four times. This hotel had probably the worst parking lot I have seen (other than NY, ATL and Chicago,) there is no elevator access and it floods.”

  • Absolutely, positively, undeniably, without a doubt, not a stinking thing.
  • The room, location, bathrooms, pool, cleanliness, service, atmosphere, other guests, lack of good sleep, nonworking ice machines and lobby restrooms.

“It was awful. Radisson should be ashamed. I was shocked. It was terrible. Smelled like it had caught on fire, nothing was working, location was shady, parking and loading/ unloading was awful, pool was bad, walls peeling, bathrooms filthy. Will never go to a Radisson again. People must have lived in this hotel. Doors were decorated like college dorms. Young kids everywhere and up all night.”

  • Close to downtown Norfolk, free parking.
  • Rude staff and guests.

“The location is convenient to downtown Norfolk. The rooms in this hotel are nice. The lobby, hallways etc are not and are very shabby and look dirty. The night we stayed there were very loud and rude guests staying on our floor, banging the doors at all hours repeatedly, which really ruined our stay. The staff were not helpful when I complained. There were weird people rooming around the hallways at 4 am in the morning, I wish they had better security, I didn't feel very safe.”

  • The sleep number bed was fabulous!
  • A lot of steps to get in to the building. Getting to the pool was little challenging?

“Everything about the hotel was great. The front desk staff and housekeeping was extremely courteous, friendly, and accommodating. The only negative was the overzealous housekeeper the morning of our checkout. She knocked on the door before 9am on a Saturday (check out isn't noon). I informed her that we wouldn't be checking out until noon. She returned at 11:30 and 11:45, not knocking, just letting herself in both times. The last time she said that she would come back at 12:30. That was annoying. Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel and using your "do not disturb" tag which our room did not have.”

  • Front Desk was a lifesaver, he helped me get around town and provided the best service possible. He is an astounding employee.
  • It was dirty. Really dirty, and its is in an unsafe place.

  • My first experience at a Westfield's hotel, it was beautifully layed out creative.
  • This specific hotel was definitely off the beaten path.

  • The room was dirty, walls pealing, staff unfriendly.

“The hotel lobby was nice but when we turned the hall to get to our room it was horrible. The room was dirty; the walls were pealing, cracking, and leaking. The hotel staff put a bucket in the hallway to catch the dripping water and did not apologize for the inconvenience. The TV was not working when we got to the room. The drain in the bathtub had hair and gunk in it! I was scared to walk on the carpet without my shoes.”

  • There was a set of stairs before getting to my room. There was no ramp or incline to get luggage to room door.

  • The hotel was located close to where I needed to go.
  • The sink was cracked and it took forever to get hot water. The refrigerator was noisy.

  • The rooms were nice, service was polite, and the location was great.
  • I did not get service at the restaurant so I left, but I was able to walk to food from the hotel.

“I have no clue why this hotel is getting such poor reviews. My room was wonderful, the lobby seemed very nice (and decked out for the holidays), it had easy parking, the staff was friendly, and the specialty beds, if you know how to read instructions, were extremely comfortable. It makes no pretensions of being a 5 star hotel, but paying a 1 star price for a 2.5 star hotel makes for a great stay.”

  • Bed linens were filthy.

“I am sorry that my experience was so bad. In my first 20 minutes I had to have all the linens in my room changed. I helped the housekeeper change and remake the bed. The staff never even offered a refund or reduction. I will not recommend that hotel to anyone. There are holes in the hallway ceilings from obvious water damage. Very poor quality hotel.”

“The room we were in had tons of spackle and other various wall pieces falling off, the tub had rust stains around it, the hairdryer was poorly connected to the outlet, the sleep number beds were too small and uncomfortable (like sleeping on a glorified air-mattress, btw), the view, although not the hotel it selfs fault, was less than exciting, restaurant was way overpriced, and Pray that you don't have a wide vehicle, or you'll have a ball trying to get down the ramp to the parking garage. Overall, this hotel should probably be avoided, unless you want a nice place to trash, because it shouldnt really get much worse.”

“You couldnt do any better at the 2 other local hotels; Marriott and Sheraton are at least double the price! And $25.00 to park. I have attended several meetings and banquets at the Radisson hotel and I am always blown away by food quality and service catering dept is outstanding! Myself and co workers have never had any problem parking our cars or being bothered the neighborhood is fine!”

“Enjoyed my stay overall; had loud neighbors the 2nd night, and security jumped on it right away and we were pleased; convenient to everything; staff was very nice and helpful, although I was ready to relax at 8 p.m. And my room had not been cleaned at all. I liked the free parking especially that was hassle free. Ate at the pub/bar in the hotel; food was okay. Wished that the nice restaurant was open during dinner hours, there's an old stale odor throughout the hotel, and I think it's because the carpet needs to be cleaned badly. But I would stay there again this is my second time in about 3 years, and Id recommend it to my co workers.”

  • Sleep number bed is awesome!
  • Bathroom had mold.

  • Nothing, really.
  • In the east and west wings the hallways very dirty, carpet was dirty, and had an unsafe feeling.

“I will never stay at hotel again (not even for free). The east and west wings need a serious remodel. I can't speak for the tower because I didn't stay in that area. We asked for a tower room but were denied. The hallways leading to the room had dirty carpet and were very old looking. It definitely did not give the feel of a 2 1/2 star hotel. The room itself was okay. The bathroom could have been cleaned better and the toilet had problems. At first it kept running for a long time after it was flushed and it eventually overflowed in the morning as I was preparing to leave. I left about 5 minutes after I called the front desk but no one ever came to the room.”
