• Easy to find, near historic Downtown, restaurants and nightlife.
• Parking area dingy on lowest level, no elevator to this level and no security I could see.

“I liked the location of this hotel for Downtown activities. It is pet friendly. There is a free trolley that stops right in front of the hotel.”

• The staff was very accommodating and rooms were clean.

“After figuring out the parking, which didn't take a lot of time, I had a very nice stay. The room was very clean and orderly and the view was nice too.”

• The friendly staff, the mattress.
• Not clean, roaches in lounge, cleaning maids knocking every 30 minutes to see if room is empty.

“When we first arrived, the hotel took our breathe. Lobby was so beautiful! Staff very friendly. We got in the room, was blowed away by how again, beautiful! I got in the bathroom and it wasn't as clean as I thought it should have been, hair here and there. Coffee pot was left with used filters, a roach crawled over my shoe down in the lounge area, check out the next day was 12 noon, staff started at 10:30 am, asking if we were leaving and kept coming back every 30 minutes, till we finally left at 11:45. I probably will stay again, but not anytime soon. The bed was the only great experience! I don't know what kind of mattress is on these beds, but they were awesome!”

• Very attractive lobby.
• The bathroom is rather small.

“The rooms are comfortable and stylish. The bathroom is adequate tho a bit on the small side. The staff is friendly and helpful. The lobby is especially attractive and welcoming. In a safe, downtown location. The $5 self parking fee seems reasonable.”

• The location in downtown is great.

“Great location for business traveler in downtown Knoxville. I would suggest the valet if you have
any luggage, as parking is terrible. Also, the room was dated and small for the star level.”

• Very nice hotel with great facilities.
• I did not get any sleep either night I was there because of noise!

“The first night I was there, sirens and emergency vehicles went by every couple of minutes. Therefore I got no sleep. Even the ear plugs that the hotel provided were not sufficient for the amount of noise. I complained to the staff the next day. They said that they could move me to the back side of the hotel, but that there is a train track back there and the interstate is behind there also. So they didn't think it would be any more quiet back there. I therefore endured another sleepless night of noise the next night. They didn't offer any more solutions, or try to make up for my dissatisfaction. I won't make the mistake of staying there again.”

• Location in Knoxville/price.

“This hotel has an excellent location. Parking is available, but the lot is a bit scary if you are a female alone I have stayed here before on business and both times, there have been men hanging out on the bottom level of the garage. The rooms are nice, not over the top - but okay and the location is very convenient.”

• Very elegant.
• Woke up to the sound of construction in the hotel.

“The lobby stood out with a certain elegance and the rooms were comfortable and pleasant. I felt like royalty staying there. I did wake up to the sounds of construction on the floors above.”

• Walls were not well insulated. Could hear neighbors.

• Filthy rooms.

“Nice place to meet in the lobby, but don't sleep there. Dirty bathroom (hair), obviously didn't have an operational vacuum cleaner. Even 2nd rooms floor was filthy. Used tissues behind furniture, crumbs and hair everywhere, no shampoo, broken alarm clock, not completely emptied trash cans, etc. Plus--would not offer anything off bill or towards another possible stay (NOT).”

• Very quiet rooms with relaxation CD, eye mask, ear plugs and lavender spray.
• The pillows were way too soft.

“Very comfortable and they make every effort to make your stay relaxing for the traveler. The only down-side is limited free parking. They do have valet parking, but whether you use that service or not, they still charge $5.00 per night to park in the parking garage; however, the parking garage is secured.”

• Loved the live piano music at the restaurant.
• The non-smoking floor smelled of smoke. The second after stepping out of the elevator.

“Overall, for the price, this was a very decent hotel with great service and location. The only issue was the strong smoky odor on the non-smoking floor (fifth floor).”

• The staff was very helpful.
• Our "neighbors" came in at 0030 yelling and the city started street work at 0600 on Sunday.

“The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. The people next to us were loud in the middle of the night and the city began work at 6 AM on Sunday. They stopped shortly thereafter (complaints?) but the damage was done.”

• No valet outside to park cars.

“Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Beds were very comfortable. Hotel nice and clean. Only problem was no valet was outside upon arrival. We had to go in and ask. No valet was ever available when we needed our car. We always had to go to desk and ask when leaving and arriving.”

“While it has the same amenities of a Marriot or Sheraton, it does not have new furnishings, equipment or bedding that you would find in a similar establishment hotel, is convenient to restaurants and the university. Reasonably priced garage. Just not worthy of 3 star rating.”

“I was amazed at how friendly and cost effective this hotel is! The staff was awesome, the beds comfortable. And you even get a large flat screen TV in your room! Don't forget to order room service - it's very tasty - and very inexpensive!”

• Very clean, plush, with a great atmosphere and great service. It had the aura of luxury.
• Wish it had queen beds instead of full size beds.

“The Crown Plaza was exquisite, luxurious, clean and wonderful. I would stay there again in a Heartbeat. And with price was great. If I could change one thing, I would have queen size beds instead of full size. But it was a wonderful stay for me and my family.”

• Had everything we needed, nice location, flat TV was nice.
• Courtesy, was rude in the evening, would not leave phone to attend needs.

“Nice location to events and food interests, rooms on the small side, carpet worn in places and room was next to ice machine that was used all night. One staff member would not get off personal phone call for over five minutes, finally left. Stay was actually good otherwise.”

• Not a 3 star hotel. Very poor! Not a Crown-OLD!

“This is also not a Crown hotel, it is very old and the rooms looked like it. I did not sleep inside the sheets and I had a whole in the wall when someone prior must fell in to the wall and broke the drywall. The wallpaper is popping and the overall condition of the room was very poor.”

• Comfortable bed and big screen TV.
• Expensive food - poorly cooked/prepared.

“The staff was exceptional. They were very considerate and competent. The front desk area was pretty and the room very comfortable. The big screen TV was a hit for my 18 year old son and me. Plan to bring a sandwich or have dinner away from the hotel for a good meal. All else was good.”

“This was a very comfortable and clean hotel. It has a good downtown location with easy access to interstates. I liked the 37" flat screen TV in the room. I did not like being charged an additional amount to park. Overall, I would stay at this hotel again.”

• The bed was absolutely wonderful!
• The staff was rude, the parking was horrible and the food was cold.

“Well we check in just fine and our stay started off wonderfully, but the next day, our room had not been cleaned, we ran out of toilet paper, and it took the front desk over 4 hours to bring us more, while eating at the dining facilities the food we received was cold. The parking facilities were horrible, not once did our key card work to enter or exit the parking area. The only thing this hotel has going for it is it's location.”

• The granite, the TV, the view of Market Square.
• The furniture in the rooms could be updated to go with the TV and other modern changes.

“Hotel was nice. Loved the big flat screen, loved the granite countertops and the beds were quite comfortable. Hotel staff was nice and we were in walking distance to Market Square which had really fun bars, restaurants and cute little shops. The only suggestion I would have, would have to be ripping off that yucky wallpaper from the guest room walls, changing artwork and furniture. The room has a clean, modern feel with a few things but an old-timely feel from some other things.”

“Really nice room. Lots of amenities but no mini-fridge. Better TV screen than I have at home. Excellent staff. I was really pleased overall, Only downside is that it seems to be near the fire station and you hear lots of emergency vehicle sirens, but they provide earplugs gratis.”

“The hotel lobby was beautiful. However, the cleanliness of the room was not what I expected and the staff was not very friendly. She seemed to resent that I received the hotel at a cheaper rate.”

• Convenient to Convention Center where I was working.
• Do not feel that with a 3 star hotel you should not have to pay for continental breakfast.

“There we no trash bags inside garbage containers. No outside vending machines for snacks. Have to pay for continental breakfast. Had to pay $5.00 to park in parking deck. Don't see what the high price is for.”

• Lots of value for the money.
• Hotel staff would not change room type from two doubles to a queen + sofa bed without Hugh fee even though rooms were available.

“I enjoyed my stay very much. The hotel was located an equal distance from the Old City, downtown restaurants, and the Market Square area. Also was within a 5 to 10 minute walk from anywhere you would have to go downtown for business. The beds were great and my room on the 10th floor had a large Plasma Screen TV.”

• The ambience was really great! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly! The food at the restaurant was wonderful!
• The room was needed some redecoration and updating, but it was comfortable and clean.

“The Crowne Plaza was a nice older hotel. It was really beautiful in the lobby and dining areas. The room was comfortable, but needed a face lift with some of the beautiful decor and design to match the lobby and dining areas of the hotel. The staff was great and our stay there was really nice. We would stay there again.”

• It was a beautiful room, very calming and elegant-parking garage security was excellent. Overall wonderful!
• I cannot think of anything negative about my experience. Would stay again for sure.

“The Crown Plaza of Knoxville was a wonderful surprise. It felt like we were staying in a big city- elegant high rise hotel. Rooms were beautiful- wonderful amenities. Service was excellent. Will stay often since daughter is a student at the university in Knoxville.”
