“Stayed here with my family for 3 nights July 1, 2007 to July 4, 2007. Location of hotel on strip was one of the key factors for selecting this hotel. July temps ranged from 110 to 115 degrees and nobody needs to be out long in that weather. Other than that, this hotel has few other positives. Some of the negatives include Smokey casino, tight slots (worst in Vegas), dirty rooms, and expensive restaurants. Cleanliness of the rooms in particular was a big disappointment. My youngest daughter cut her foot open on a sliver of broken glass in the carpet shortly after we arrived. One of our bathrooms smelled like a sewer and the other had no cover over the air conditioning duct. Also they charged us after we left for bottled water in the room that we did not drink, kind of lame nickel and dime attempt that they probably try with everyone. Also, the pool waterfalls and slides are turned off in the mornings and late afternoons which is when we wanted to use them. I doubt we would stay this hotel again. I would prefer to pay a bit more for something better on our next trip.” Jun 24, 2007 by
Kim from Powell, OH
“The location was great and the price was very good. My kids enjoyed the pool facilities.” Jun 18, 2007 by
Lee from Charlottesville, VA
“Great location, inexpensive relative to Vegas, and we had a great 25th floor strip view. Overall, very nice. And it fit our budget.” Jun 13, 2007 by
Heidi from Los Angeles, CA
“The pool area and location on the strip is fantastic and since you're usually not in your room much anyway, and it's less expensive than Paris, NY.” Jun 9, 2007 by
paul from waterloo
“I went to Vegas and stayed at the Flamingo for my 50th birthday with a party of 4. Our stay was excellent with the exception of one waitress who works at the Tropical Breezes Cafe. Prior to our dinner there everything at the Flamingo was excellent! But that night took that excellence and turned it to a disappointing evening. On May 23, 2007 we were served cold food and when we asked for our waitress it took forever, and finally when she arrived she was beyond rude. When I complained about the cold food and the wait for service she rudely replied and I quote! "You know you don't have to eat here! I did not make the food!" At that point we chose to leave and not eat the food (1 hour in total spent there) the remainder of our party finished their meal and were not approached again for refills of drinks. Too bad one person had to ruin a pleasant evening.” Jun 8, 2007 by
John from Quincy, MA
“Pros: centrally located, cheap tables, nice pool. Cons: older rooms, hotel is not as grand as some of the other hotels. They rarely card to get into the pool and because of that it seems the pool over crowed from non-hotel guests.” May 31, 2007 by
Joyce from Banks, OR
“The room was comfortable and clean. The staff although nice enough, couldn't give clear and helpful directions/suggestion to save their lives. The pool was delightful until the DJ started yammering in between song. He should have just let the music play. A more relaxing spa entrance would be nice too. Those who are looking for relaxing message don't want to walk through the "workout" on the way in and out.” May 23, 2007 by
Jan from Sterling Hts., MI
“It was fine for a 3-4 star hotel. Except that the pool was more like a five star.” May 22, 2007 by
Martha from Ozark, MO
“Very classic Vegas hotel. We enjoyed the atmosphere a lot and especially the lovely pink flamingo's! The best staff we have dealt with in Vegas. Would highly recommend others to stay.” May 21, 2007 by
Gerardo from Toa Alta, PR
“Located in Las Vegas strip, the flamingo embodies a classic hotel in need of recent improvements to make it more attractive to customers.” May 14, 2007 by
Mj R. from Kearny, NJ
“Needs improvement on the parking lot, spaces should be wider between each line. There should be a non smoking gambling section like some casinos in Atlantic city. My sister was not able to enjoy since she cannot tolerate the smell of cigarettes.” May 5, 2007 by
Anthony from Colorado Springs, CO
“Mid strip location, nice gardens in the rear of building. Not our first stay here, a favorite.” Apr 29, 2007 by
Frank J. from Princeton, NJ
“The new room was great. It was large, well equipped (huge plasma TV, bathroom TV built into the mirror, pennon stereo system, floor to ceiling windows, deluxe shower with multiple spraying jets, etc.) And clean. If they update the lobby to the same level as the new rooms, the flamingo will really be a big Vegas Name again. The gym was also very well equipped and well staffed. The location of the flamingo in the heart of the strip basically puts you within walking distance of everything you want to see with the obvious exception of the Freemont sty. Experience.” Apr 27, 2007 by
Jason from Madison, WI
“My wife and I enjoyed our stay immensely.” Apr 13, 2007 by
Candy from Grand Forks, ND
“But clean and comfortable. Staff in casino was very friendly and kept the diet cokes flowing and attended the customer well.” Apr 11, 2007 by
Brittney from Lehi, UT
“I love the flamingo because of its great location and because it has a margarita Ville!” Apr 9, 2007 by
Kate from South Bend, IN
“We have stayed at the flamingo before and where very pleased. but this time we where a little up-set when making the reservations on-line, we could not select a smoking room and when we arrived the check in gal, was not very polite about getting us a smoking room and over all was not polite. Our on-line confirmation said check in was 3 pm Vegas time, but she changed it to 4pm and was very firm with us about this. We arrived at the hotel at 10am, so another hour added on was tough on us. As the stay continued this improved greatly, we will stay again next year at the Flamingo (we go every year).” Mar 19, 2007 by
Greg from Prior Lake, MN
“The staff did a good job and the hotel was in very good condition considering the age of the building. It was a good location and the parking was free.” Mar 7, 2007 by
Harry from Helotes, TX
“Very pleasant stay, room was always clean and inviting.” Mar 6, 2007 by
Merrill from Long Branch, NJ
“Flamingo was excellent location in mid strip on Las Vegas blvd. The casino ventilation was not good and the smoke was oppressive! Went across the street to Caesars to gamble it was so bad. The Japanese restaurant Hamada was very bad, food poor quality and price was through the roof. Best meals were at other properties.” Mar 5, 2007 by
Brett from Ventura, CA
“The flamingo seemed to be in a pretty bad state. Lots of non-working elevator electrical signs. Two different room service orders resulted in lukewarm/cold potatoes and food. Also delivered morning room service 20 minutes earlier than scheduled. I would not stay at this hotel if it was a personal choice.” Mar 1, 2007 by
Brent from Amesbury, MA
“Excellent location on the strip. Great restaurants within its vicinity, but when I checked in the desk had to call to make sure that I had reservations. It was very inconvenient.” Feb 23, 2007 by
Diahann from Fontana, CA
“The hotel was great. I ended calling and booking straight through the hotel.” Feb 22, 2007 by
Kyong from Garden Grove, CA
“The hotel looks like its been done on the outside but not the rooms.” Feb 20, 2007 by
Tom from Farmington, UT
“This hotel may once have been nice. But it is way past its prime and definitely is not a 3-star. Maybe a 2-star, but no more. It's trading on Name recognition only.” Feb 15, 2007 by
Cindy from Mchenry, IL
“Location, location, location! Georgiou¿s views and excellent business amenities.” Feb 5, 2007 by
Sherri from Universal City, TX
“Staff was very accommodating. I ended up bringing a relative with me so I changed to a two queen room versus king. We ended up in a top level room, and she said smokers were allowed, so we were prepared for that. The room however, had a great view and we appreciated that. We enjoyed our stay.” Jan 30, 2007 by
Peter from Tacoma, WA
“Good value for the money, good location. Not as many food options as some of the other hotels on the strip.” Jan 28, 2007 by
Jayne from Calgary, AB CA
“Service not great, too much smoke odor everywhere. Great location, good price.” Jan 23, 2007 by
Dave from Indianapolis, IN
“The flamingo has lost some of its old glamour, the elevators were beat up and the numbers on the rooms were sometimes written in black marker, where the old numbers had fallen off. The food was okay. A minor inconvenience was the alarm in the unoccupied room next door was going off at 5am for two days straight. I had to call security both mornings. If the flamingo can continue to improve the look without a drastic increase in price, this hotel will be a good choice for those on a budget and want to stay on the strip!” Jan 10, 2007 by
Kathleen from Olympia, WA
“The hotel registrar had difficulty registering me. Few employees were friendly, it seemed I was more of an annoyance asking questions. Sunday morning breakfast I ordered a quesadilla, the first was burned. It was about a half hour before breakfast was received.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 8, 2007 by

“It took 3 attempts and about an hour to get a key that would open my room. My room did not have towels. It took another 1/2 hour to get those. Calls to the front desk were put on hold for a considerable time. Location is great. Room was clean. Relatively quiet for Vegas.” Jan 8, 2007 by
George from Woodland, CA
“Registration staff was especially friendly and helpful. Lobby was upscale. The room was large, clean, and comfortable with a great view. The beds were just adequate and needed a higher quality mattress. Location is excellent across from ceases and near the mirage - right in the center of the strip. Hotel coffee shop served mediocre food but charged a high price (especially for a casino). Overall grade b+ . Good quality for a reasonable price.” Jan 7, 2007 by
Brent from Cypress, CA
“Overall nice stay, clean, comfortable, great hotel.” Jan 7, 2007 by
Sue from Boulder Creek, CA
“I thought the hotel itself was nice. However found it difficult to find entrance and where to park. Stayed two days and both days had a different entrance don¿t know if that it was because one night was a Thursday night and the next was a Friday night. Also was unable to use the video checkout on TV as was suggested to by staff. It wasn't working in our room. Also to request valet to pick up bags on departure (as suggested by staff) was unable to do so as line was always busy. Overall I thought it was a nice hotel but efficiency in its operations were lacking.” Jan 4, 2007 by
Liz from Chicago, IL
“Do not eat at the cafe or buffet at the flamingo, the food is less than average and the service is slow.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 2, 2007 by
Marcel from Vancouver, BC CA
“The quality of the room was fine reported to the price we paid, but everything else is setup to milk the customers as much possible (10min internet at the business center is $7.5), a beer in the casino is $4.75, etc). The tourism industry in Vegas used to collect revenues from gambling, and offer complementary services as an incentive for people to go gamble. Today nothing is free.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 1, 2007 by

“Centrally located in the strip, and very convenient to commute. Good and exotic ambience for dining. Perfect for a pleasure trip / vacation. Highly recommendable to all my contacts.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Dec 19, 2006 by

“Loved the look, liked the monorail plenty of shopping, displays were excellent.” Nov 16, 2006 by
Gisele from Vancouver, BC CA
“Great location but hotel is tired - needs some attention (i.e. Clean windows, recall tub). Also, getting help through direct dial extensions was poor. Good place to stay if budget is a concern but would consider spending a bit more next time to stay elsewhere.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 15, 2006 by

“Nice, clean, fine for business travel.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 31, 2006 by

“We had a great experience mostly because we were upgraded to a suite. The suite was huge with a bar, two bathrooms and a separate bedroom. We ordered room service Saturday morning, they came when they said they would and the price was actually very reasonable, 38 dollars for two full breakfasts isn't bad! Overall it's in a great location but the facilities are a bit on the tired side especially when compared to her glitzy neighbors. She's a bit like an older show girl with feathers bent and some sequins missing. I would say it's got a couple of years before someone tears it down and rebuilds.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 20, 2006 by

“The Flamingo is great for the reason that it is right in the middle of the strip. It had a lot of fun things going on around the area. Unfortunately, we found the bar and live band a block away the day that we were leaving. We were disappointed when we arrived because they gave our reserved room away. They did put us in a mini-suite, though, which sounds great, but not when 2 of us had to sleep on "complimentary" pull-out cots that were worthless. It was such a pain packing the next day and moving to a different room on the other side of the hotel. The many times that we tried to order room service, it would take forever, and when it finally did come, it was not good food at all. The waterfalls at the pool were not running, nor were the water slides that they advertise. There was a lot of construction going on around the pool area. The palm trees at the pool were beautiful, but they blocked the sun! Very minimal places to get sun, and those spots were always packed. Drink deals continued to change from server/bartender. One hour you could get a complimentary drink just by sitting down at a table or slot machine, and the next hour you had to put at least 20 dollars in and play max credits otherwise you had to pay 6 dollars for an 8 oz. Bloody Mary. There was an annoying safety check early in the morning one day where there was a loud, fire alarm type drill that blasted over the room speaker for about 5 minutes. The bathrooms were very small. The views from both of the rooms that we had were of parking lots and ramps. The elevators were 2 hallways away from our room. The buffet had a large selection, but was not that good for the price that we paid. Check-out on our room service card said 11, the phone said 12, and the maid said 11:30. We were getting a little sick of nobody knowing what was going on. Phone lines were always busy. Overall, it was a good place to sleep for 6 hours and get ready, but otherwise we were out of there! Hope to find a be.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 16, 2006 by

“This hotel was okay for the price because of the location and the pool areas. The room was large and comfortable but the furniture and bathroom were shabby, The shower faucet leaked a lot The chair was threadbare The drapes needed to be replaced.” Oct 3, 2006 by
Peggy from North Tonawanda, NY
“I thought everything about this hotel was great except check in. We arrived at midnight and found they had no rooms for our party of nine. Two couples were given rooms and the others were given the left-over only to be moved again the next day to the appropriate rooms. A four day stay became three days checking into rooms.” Sep 24, 2006 by
Donald from Newbury Park, CA
“One of the older hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, full of Vegas history in a great location with a good casino. However, like an old actress it is seriously showing its age and needs a major renovation. It can no longer compete realistically with competitors in the same price range.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Sep 14, 2006 by

“Great location on the strip, but it needs a major overhaul. I would stay elsewhere until it is renovated. Perhaps at MGM, which looked great.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Sep 13, 2006 by

“The cleaning crew kept checking for us to vacant the premises in the morning and I found this to be annoying. The furniture in the room did not match and had a scent of old to it. ” Sep 10, 2006 by
