• It was comfortable and safe.
• The location was isolated from dining and shopping.

“The view of a frozen lake in April was good for a visitor from the south. The hotel experience was what I expect from a Holiday Inn Express ' comfortable without an abundance of frills.”

• Rooms are big and clean.
• Not enough tables to in the dinning room.

“When I first arrived my check-in went smooth. The room was fine but the refrigerator did not work and had to be replaced. This was done almost immediately. Breakfast is served in a common area and there is a wait for tables. There are only 10 tables. Not enough for that size of hotel. The rooms are very quiet at night which is nice. There is a strip mall next door that has some restaurants and stores that come in handy but a huge gravel pit separates the hotel from it, it's just far enough to walk to make you drive over which is too bad.”

• King size bed.
• HBO was frozen, coffee maker didn't work.

“Great room, great rate, just wish the coffee maker would work and that the continental breakfast lasted past 9:30...who gets up that early on vacation?”

• Very clean, friendly service from hotel staff, great indoor pool and wonderful complimentary breakfast.
• Nothing, really, would have been nice to be closer to Cooperstown.

• The room was clean, staff was friendly & helpful, and breakfast food was good.
• The spa (whirlpool) was freezing and not useable!

“Very good value for the dollar. Rooms were good sized, clean and room facilities worked well and were modern. Staff was accommodating - good customer service. Food (breakfast) was good and convenient. Location is good - just 10 minutes outside of town and attractions. Only problem was the spa / whirlpool that was freezing.”

• I loved the decor of the lobby and room, the hotel staff was very friendly and the cookies were delicious and warm.
• The power went off during one of the nights I stayed and they were not able to get the generator running.

• Very helpful and courteous staff.
• Could feel springs in mattress, desk wobbly.

“This was a nice stay for the price. We could feel the springs (not horrible, I just noticed the difference compared to my own bed at home) in the king size mattress in our room (no pillow top on the mattress). There were 6 pillows on the bed - 3 soft and 3 firm. That was nice (the pillow cases even had them embroidered soft or firm so that you would know). The desk was wobbly, not un-usable, but wobbly. The fridge and microwave were nice to have, but the fridge was difficult to open without pulling it out of it's furniture-casing. Overall, this was a good value for the money.”

• This is a clean, modern hotel at an economical price.
• The location is a little far from Downtown Cooperstown.

“Clean, modern and affordable hotel with free Wi-Fi and breakfast. Great budget accommodations for business travelers, families, etc visiting the Cooperstown, NY area.”

• Fridge, microwave, nice shower, plenty of pillows, laundry facilities, pool, breakfast was included.
• The smell in the exercise room.

“Overall, it was a great hotel that exceeded my expectations. It was convenient, clean and had a friendly staff. It was better than the 2 star rating it was given. It should be a 3 star.”

• Cleanliness was impeccable.
• Out in the boondocks.

“Very clean, almost new condition. Staff very helpful with any questions. Huge impending snowstorm approached and gave their recommendations. Would have gotten higher rating (if possible) if location was closer to town. Would not hesitate to recommend or rebook again. ”

• Inexperienced hotel staff messed up credit card reservation.

“Cooperstown's newest hotel (spring 2007), with sunny breakfast room and warm lobby. 5 minute drive to downtown & attractions. Pool, whirlpool, and exercise room (new Nautilus, 2 treadmills, 1 spin, TV) in the basement. Ask for a room facing the back for a nice view.”

• New, good value.
• Room smelled like carpet shampoo and urine.

“Overall a very good experience. The room did smell like urine, but the carpet shampoo smell told me that they at least made an attempt to eliminate this odor. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Cooperstown.”

• Very clean and friendly.
• Breakfast hour was only till 9:30am.

“The hotel was close to Cooperstown, clean and the staff was friendly. The breakfast time was short and early and very crowded. It could have been done in a larger room. Many people were waiting on line to get food and to wait for a table to sit at to eat. The staff was great helping guests but there were a lot of people with kids staying there and the time to have breakfast was short.”

• The rooms are spacious, clean, and accommodating for business travel.

“The Holiday Inn Express is very accommodating It is located near several restaurants, a small plaza, and it's a short drive to Cooperstown. The rooms include amenities such as: iron, ironing board, blow dryer, small refrigerator, microwave, and meant others. It offers each patron a comforting non-stressed environment. I will definitely stay there again!”
