• The location was good and the staff was friendly.
• The old saying is you get what you pay for. I didn't understand that I wasn't getting a bargain when booking this hotel.

“It's in a very good location. It's small and family friendly. It appear cleaner than I thought it was; the lobby, swimming area, and outside looked OK to the eye. I hate to be negative, but I believe I contracted. Beg bugs while staying at Howard Johnson. On Saturday morning, I woke up with rash- red blotches and very itchy, several hours later it was over my body. Later blisters and running from me having to rub and scratching from itching badly.”

• Basically clean and comfortable, helpful staff; convenient.
• First room was very hot and shabby, 2nd room the door wouldn't lock.

“Pretty helpful staff. Not a place I would want to spend any time in, but just for a place to sleep for a few hours, it was okay.”

• I asked for a non-smoking room. When I found out I was across the hall from smoking rooms I asked to be moved. I was moved.
• The pillows and sheets.

“I have never stayed at a hotel where I had to go out and buy pillows to sleep on. The pillows at this hotel should have been thrown out long time ago. Although the sheets were clean they had holes and the elastic on the corners was gone. That made the sheets pull off very easily. I would not stay here again nor recommend this hotel to any one else.”

• Location in vicinity of where we were at most of the weekend.
• Had at least 3 light bulbs burned out in our room/bathroom.

“I am not an experienced traveler, but the hotel fit our needs and was clean and neat. We enjoyed our stay.”

• Easy access to major highways.
• There was no elevator to the second floor.

“The Amerihost Inn McKinney was adequate and reasonably priced. The location offered easy access to major highways, restaurants, and shopping. The only downside I saw was the lack of an elevator to get to the second floor. I have problems with stairs as I get older. Maybe there should be a question asked at check in as to whether the stairs are going to be an issue. Other than the lack of an elevator the room was a good value.”

• Indoor pool but I did not use it and I had shampoo in my room.
• The beds were as hard as a rock and there are not enough TV channels and check out was bad and no water pressure.

• Convenient Location.
• Walls were too thin. I could hear my neighbor's TV all hours.

“The hotel was okay. The people were friendly. However, the walls were way too thin. My next door neighbor had the TV on late into the night and I had a hard time getting to sleep. Additionally, they need to have shampoo and conditioner. They had Conditioning Shampoo which does not work for my hair.”

• There wasn't any one outstanding thing.
• They don't have a sign at the roadside letting you know the hotel is located back, away from the street.

“There wasn't enough parking outside the rooms to where you could keep watch over your vehicle. You had to park in an overflow lot that was on the opposite side of my room and away from the hotel. The odors in this hotel was not very pleasant; i.e., going through the door into the hotel from the inside staircase. The hotel sits very far back from the frontage road and is easy to drive right by, which I did.”

• Facilities were nice, sauna, pool, hot tub, exercise room.
• Room amenities. No coffee cups, no Kleenex.

“Nice hotel. It was generally clean with lots of nice facilities and extras like pool, hot tub, sauna, continental breakfast, USA Today paper.”

• It was clean and safe.
• Hard to find from highway, sign not easily visible.

“Nice and clean for the price, felt safe, nice pool, quiet, everything worked & room included extras like coffee, iron, hairdryer, recommend.”
