“Great location, near nice park on the water, close to downtown.” Aug 19, 2009 by
Critter from Mamaroneck,NY “It was more like one star! The sheets weren't clean, I found hairs and stains all over. The walls were paper thin, and the TV in the next room sounded like it was in ours. Plus our own TV didn't work right, only sometimes.” Jul 24, 2009 by
Stephanie from Milford,NH
“Very good for business travelers.” Jul 11, 2009 by
Karla from Block Island,RI
“We were pleasantly surprised. We certainly didn't expect at this price to get a room overlooking Providence Harbor!” Jun 18, 2009 by
Suzanne from Manchester,NH
“Updated decor. Most rooms have sleep number beds. Rooms were clean and had a neutral scent. Hotel was close to everything. Plenty of free parking. Breakfast buffet was plentiful, but not the greatest near the end of breakfast hours. The customer service was fantastic at the front desk and in the restaurant.” May 21, 2009 by
Kathy from Burlington,KY “I am a graduate student and needed to stay behind one day to work (via email and online) with my group. The ibahn system failed and I lost internet connection. I needed to go to the lobby to work only to lose internet on their land line. They sent me back to my room only to learn that the ibahn had been restored 45 minutes earlier. I was very disappointed and shared that with the manager. He agreed to compensate for one day of our stay. While that didn't fix the issue, I appreciated the gesture.” Apr 12, 2009 by
Clyde from Danielson,CT
“A nice location. Good value for the money. I would stay again.” Feb 20, 2009 by
Fernando from Alexandria,VA
“ The hotel was what I expected for a 3-star. The pros: free WiFi in the room and a big TV (CRT). The cons: I can never rest on a sleep by number bed, no matter the setting. ” Feb 17, 2009 by
Frank from Winter Park,FL
“Good comfortable hotel with upscale beds. Hotel is a little noisy since it sits directly on the highway.” Jan 10, 2009 by
Mary from Bethesda,MD
“Not in downtown Providence-unless you get into your car and drive. Next to highway. Paper thin walls mean you hear the whole football game until midnight.” Jan 6, 2009 by
Donna from Bronx,NY
“When we arrived on New Years night it was very cold and lots of snow, the parking lot was not shoveled so we missed the entrance twice. Otherwise, had a great time there and would go back again.” Dec 17, 2008 by
Paul from Denver,CO
“Excellant value for the price if you don't mind a little highway noise and roand construction. Staff are nice and my room was like new.” Oct 18, 2008 by
jan
“The hotel is upscale, with a staff that has an outstanding approach towards their guests. A traveler can feel comfortable and secure that they will be treated in a friendly gracious manner. And, of course, location. For the vacation guest, all that's wonderful and fun about Chicago is within a comfortable distance. Also the hotel was filled with business people using the meeting facilities which show that the hotel can cater to both business and leisure travelers in a most exceptional way. I'd love to stay there again, any time.” Oct 8, 2008 by

“This hotel has a great view of the harbor. At this time, there is a lot of construction along the harbor, but when done, this hotel will have a great location next to a waterfront park. There is a walking bridge over I95 a short distance from this hotel which makes walking to downtown less than 15 minutes. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff. The lobby was very clean. Our room on the 5th floor was very clean and had an awesome view of the harbor. I would not hesitate to go back to this hotel.” Oct 8, 2008 by
Katherine
“I would recommend this hotel to fellow travelers. It is clean, attractive and the staff was friendly.” Oct 6, 2008 by
Christa
“This hotel served its purpose as we were looking for something clean and affordable in the Providence area. That being said, there was a lot of construction around the hotel making it very difficult to locate. It was easy to navigate when leaving the property but when we were trying to get back to the hotel it was a nightmare. The main exit off the highway was closed along with several other roads. The detour was poorly marked. I would strongly recommend that the hotel management place signage around the area so that guests can easily navigate their way to and from the property.” Sep 24, 2008 by
Michele from Pittsburgh
“I requested a room with 2 double beds, non-smoking, harbor view and upper floor since I had read the reviews and understood that there was construction going on the nearby highway. I received a room with 2 double beds, non smoking, but on the 2nd floor (right next to the highway) and next the road. I also did not get one of the rooms with sleep number beds. The Wi-Fi was convenient and I had no trouble with it. Staff was pleasant, but not terribly helpful. The construction around the hotel made it a challenge to get to, use a GPS.” Sep 8, 2008 by
Eliot from East Taunton, MA
“The hotel is great. It is clean, pleasant and the staff goes out of their way to help. The location however is not walking distance to downtown as stated. It is in the middle of a desolate area. If traveling for business downtown, you will need a car or plan on taking taxis to and from.” Sep 7, 2008 by
Leslie from Denver, CO
“Decent price for a clean room relatively close to the highway. Once construction is complete will probably have nice water view.” Sep 7, 2008 by
Renata from Thornhill, ON CA
“Once the park beside the harbor and hotel is completed the harbor view from the hotel will be very pretty. The location is a bit far to walk to the large mall in providence or to Brown, so not downtown Providence. The hotel itself was clean, with free coffee available in the foyer round the clock and free internet service (which we had to pay for on a daily basis at a much more expensive hotel in NY). The front desk staff is friendly and very helpful.” Sep 4, 2008 by
Lorraine from Torrington, CT
“Restaurant and lounge open limited hours. One room the TV did not work.” Aug 24, 2008 by
Tina from New Bedford, MA
“I wouldn't mind staying there again when I go to providence Rhode Island, they are really polite and friendly I really didn't want to go I wanted to stay an extra day but I had to come home.” Aug 21, 2008 by
Carol from Norwich, CT
“Very clean. Staff was friendly.” Aug 20, 2008 by
Sydne from Sarasota, FL
“The hotel had construction surrounding it. Buildings next door had graffiti. The rooms were small, with torn carpet, curtains, chair bottoms, stained bathtub. We moved to three different rooms. The only ice dispenser that worked was on the 5th floor. Vending machine for soda was always empty. Was very dissatisfied.” Aug 17, 2008 by
Sd from Harpers Ferry, WV
“The whole area is under construction and the hotel shows it. The exit off of I-195 is closed so it gets very difficult to get to the hotel. With all the unfriendly attitude of the two female staff, I was lucky with the supervisor whom, after one night of laying in bed awake because of the noise, finally agreed to change my room to the only available smoking double room which I took, happy to be able to sleep. I wanted to have lunch at the hotel's restaurant but there were only two young cooks and one waiter there. It would have taken for ever to get something to eat.” Aug 16, 2008 by
Ron from Norton, OH
“Had stayed there about 3 years ago and felt it was a good. Location was perfect for what I needed.” Aug 15, 2008 by
Amanda from Johnston, RI
“Good business hotel, located basically on I 195 ask for park side room for less noise and better view.” Aug 12, 2008 by
Tracey from Columbia, PA
“Called ahead to check about any impact of construction on I-195 on the access to hotel.” Aug 12, 2008 by
Sandra from Chevy Chase, MD
“This hotel is reasonably near Brown University and the College Hill historic area. Access to downtown is a bit more complicated for those with business there, although Providence is a small city. This hotel is clean, comfortable, and served by a courteous staff. Parking was a bit tight on busy nights, but they are in the process of expanding the lot outdoors. The city is also working on improvements to a waterside park nearby.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Brian from Troy, NY
“Road noise if staying on one side of hotel and construction if on the harbor side.” Aug 6, 2008 by
Eric from Bennington, VT
“Nice, clean hotel. The area is under construction thus we were re-routed. Just keep your eyes peeled for signs along the way. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was nice. Not a lot of lobby room a bit cramped. When the construction of the highway is done, it will be very convenient, rooms were clean. I would stay again only after construction is done, or they put in a pool.” Aug 5, 2008 by
Steve from Rushford, NY
“It's a great value and I'd gladly stay there again, but make sure that you stay on the harbor side of the hotel if street noise bothers you.” Aug 4, 2008 by
Dianna from Manchester Center, VT
“Great beds, pleasant rooms. Staff was not very helpful or knowledgeable. Some amenities were lacking i.e. wireless was down, phone was broken.” Aug 3, 2008 by
Janice from Oakville, ON CA
“Adequate for rest stop. Would not recommend if you plan to walk to and from Downtown Providence sights.” Aug 2, 2008 by
Jean-Marc from Cincinnati, OH
“2 elevators are necessary to access the room to the parking. Depending on the highway we access, no access! Room is equipped with air bed, not recommended when 2 people per bed, when 1 move, the other moves too.” Aug 1, 2008 by
Norm from Trumansburg, NY
“Good value, but with the location and major issues with construction around the hotel it was not as ideal as desired. The shuttle was supposed to run on the hour back and forth between the hotel and RI Convention Center but it did not do that.” Jul 24, 2008 by
Kathleen from Mishawaka, IN
“Clean rooms, excellent housekeeping services, friendly, helpful staff, all amenities in working order (no pool or hot tub on premises, however). Downtown providence is accessible by foot through pleasant neighborhoods with sidewalk cafes along Wickenden. Convenient shuttle to downtown for those unable to walk.” Jul 19, 2008 by
James from Lakeland, FL
“Highway or power plant view. Very clean rooms with cable. No breakfast (coffee was available). Free parking. Not walking distance to anything.” Jul 18, 2008 by
Molly from Puyallup, WA
“Under construction and a bit difficult to find.” Jul 18, 2008 by
Robert W. from Wynnewood, PA
“Good location for an overnight stay on way to Cape Cod. A bit off highway construction was going on around the hotel. The mattresses are good - you can adjust the hardness.” Jul 15, 2008 by
Mary B. from Bloomingdale, NY
“The staff at this hotel.” Jul 11, 2008 by
Erik from Nashville, TN
“When the harbor front development work is completed this will be a great spot for a hotel, but I would avoid this hotel until the fall of 2009.” Jul 11, 2008 by
Maryann from Shoemakersville, PA
“Great hotel. Friendly staff. Wonderful view of the Harbor. Good food at the restaurant!” Jul 9, 2008 by
Pat from Westerville, OH
“Nice property in a very odd location.” Jul 9, 2008 by
Ari from Astoria, NY
“The hotel was under construction, but I could tell that it will eventually look very nice. There was a Jacuzzi in our room, but it looked so filthy that I didn't dare go in it. Some of the staff was friendly and informative; the other half couldn't complete a sentence and seemed to be miserable working there. The waitresses were delightful!” Jul 2, 2008 by
Kay from Berkeley, CA
“The room was large and beautiful, with a walk-in closet and free Wi-Fi. The location was pretty good, near an interesting street with lots of restaurants. The hotel is close, but not walk able, to downtown providence and they provide a shuttle service (for a small fee). The front desk staff could have been much more helpful with restaurant recommendations.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Patrick from Philadelphia, PA
“Don't be deceived by the neighborhood of hotel! While it is sandwiched between highways and factories, the interior of the hotel is gorgeous and the rooms felt quite luxurious (my wife and I enjoyed the Select Comfort bed). I wish we had more than one night to spend there. Then, we could have tried out the restaurant and the rooftop bar.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Nicole from Columbus, OH
“I stayed at this hotel for three nights and it was adequate, with all of the negatives relating to service and functionality of hotel facilities. This hotel is in an excellent location, despite being in the midst of construction. Some guests might mind the construction, but it wasn't noisy, and really didn't bother me. The hotel is convenient to Wickenden street where shops and restaurants are located, and is also near Downtown, Brown, and is convenient to the highway and airport. Many of the rooms have a nice view of the bay, and this is one of the few hotels left that offers free internet service. Although there are good points. When I arrived at the hotel in the late afternoon, I was very hungry after traveling all day. I was told by the front desk staff and confirmed in the hotel guide in my room that room service was served all day, so I called to order a sandwich. However, I was informed that they were "not serving until 6 PM" on that particular day, with no explanation. I tried again at 6:30 PM and got no answer at all. It was very hot while I was in Providence, but the air conditioning was not working in the lobby, and I also heard from other guests that it was not working on the 5th floor. Every guest I spoke to had issues with their phones in their rooms not receiving or making internal calls consistently, including to and from the front desk. This was one of the only hotels I have ever stayed at that had an 11am check out time, and they also completely refused to allow any late check outs (this did not matter to me, but I heard the staff arguing with several guests about it). Besides the air conditioning and the phones, my room itself was fine. The gym was approximately 4 cardio machines in a small room, and looked to uninviting to try. The most serious concern I had about the hotel related to safety.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Sanjay from Lexington, MA
“The construction around the hotel makes it even more unattractive. The on-site restaurant served average food. The hotel also rejected our request for a "30 minute" late checkout even when we explained that we would have to wake up a "sleeping" toddler unless we get the extra 30 minutes or so. They were not very friendly.” Jun 10, 2008 by
Kelley R. from Providence, RI
“I went on this trip for business/ relaxation the hotel did not let me know there was renovations being done at 7 am as well as housekeeping knocking on my door at 8 am. As a person with insomnia I was hoping to get some uninterrupted sleep, which did not happen. Also when the room across from me caught fire there was no organized escape. It was pandemonium!! I was standing outside for 2 hours with not one hotel manager present directing anything, no questions answered. So I left and had to pay for another hotel costing me over $125. Behind in the fire I left a $300 pair of shoes in my closet that magically disappeared, even though my room didn't get damaged. There has been no effort made to find my shoes or make it up to me in anyway except that the night of the fire they comp'ed my room. I also am suffering from a rattling in my chest. Between the shoes the extra hotel costs and my doctor bills I should have stayed home.”
