“Excellent area for getting to where you want to go.” Aug 20, 2008 by
Charles from Roanoke, VA
“We liked the location of this hotel. We were visiting friends and this hotel was only 15 minutes away from their house. The restaurant was adequate and convenient. This hotel has sleep number beds but the double size beds in rooms with 2 beds do not have separate controls for each side of the bed so basically you are sleeping on a plain old air mattress. For one of the beds the display screen on the control was broken the bed could inflate or deflate but you could not tell what number it was set at. We liked the fact that our room included a microwave and a small fridge. Our son did not like the fact that there is no pool at this hotel. I am somewhat allergic to pets and sensed that dogs had been allowed in parts of the hotel (or had been snuck in). Overall it was an adequate hotel but nothing super.” Aug 20, 2008 by
Mel from Arlington, VA
“The hotel was attractive. The beds were all sleep number and you either slept on a brick or sunk into the mattress. The maids did not bring in fresh glasses but reused the previous nights. I could tell because we discovered that one of ours had a huge crack when we filled it. It was emptied and replaced on the tray the next morning. Not likely it ran through the dish washer. The bathrooms had virtually no space to place your things. The counters were tiny and the toilets did not have lids. No activities for kids.” Aug 19, 2008 by
Thomas J. from Summerville, SC
“This is definitely not a 3 star hotel. It would pass for a 2. My car was broken into in the parking lot. It was parked under a light. I guess the night security guard was sleeping. The hotel also charged me $11.00 in phone calls I needed to make at the desk. It had a speaker phone and it was easier to use while writing down and giving information. It was in a run down condition with mold in the bathroom ceiling.” Aug 14, 2008 by
Rick from Erie, PA
“Staff was accommodating and friendly. Parking was plentiful and well lit at night. No complaints.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Susan from San Mateo, CA
“The lobby area was very pretty and had a nice bar/restaurant. The staff was very professional. They were always cleaning. It was very close to the freeway and easy to get to. I would definitely stay there again.” Aug 11, 2008 by
Christine from Bellport, NY
“The rating on this hotel is so wrong. It may be for a business traveler but not for a romantic getaway. They ask for my credit card in case of charges I made, what a joke. I could see if there were movies I can buy to watch on the TV, there wasn't. I could see if there was a food. Box in the room to buy things from, there wasn't. They had no cable just a satellite dish which you see through the window of the gym. The dish is buried in a bunch of trees in the back of the building; I thought they have to be in clear view of the sky to get a signal. No Pool. When this hotel was a Best Western they had a pool. When it changed to the Radisson they remove it. This is not a hotel for a getaway it is for the business traveler. Disappointed.” Aug 2, 2008 by
Sharon from Fort Lauderdale, FL
“The staff was multi-tasks. A lot! Front desk staff rotates to bartending, to waiting tables to fixing the washing machine. Is this normal? They bent over backwards and are very friendly! Our friends shower broke, the rooms and halls smell of smoke and age. The Select Comfort beds are not comfortable. All the food, especially the Onion soup & wings were great! Get some upscale wine selections especially local vineyards! I would love to revisit this hotel if it was renovated. Keep the staff. They're a treasure!” Aug 1, 2008 by
Carol from Riverbank, CA
“The hotel is conveniently located by Long Island Airport and provides an airport shuttle. There is a restaurant, fitness center, and internet room. There isn't a pool, but the Atlantic Ocean is right there. It is driving distance to Port Jefferson and the Hampton. The staff is very helpful. They even brought complimentary cookies and milk to our room.” Jul 25, 2008 by
Debbie from Wonder Lake, IL
“Very personable manager and staff who go out of their way to attend to needs of guests; restaurant with accessible hours available within hotel.” Jul 15, 2008 by
Over-50 from Clifton Park, NY
“I enjoyed the hotel except for the thin walls which allows to much sound transmit from the adjacent rooms. I was up to 1:00 AM because of the partiers next to me!” Jul 14, 2008 by
Lola from Rocky Mount, NC
“A good place to stay on the Island.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Dianajean from Springfield, VA
“Staff were extremely friendly and went above and beyond - my requested refrigerator was waiting in my room for me, plugged in! Unheard of in other establishments. Room and bath were spotless. This obviously was once a smoking allowed facility - halls still held smell of cigarettes but not terrible. Dig out the pool and you are guaranteed a return visit!” Jul 2, 2008 by
Joan from Shippensburg, PA
“At another time hotel might be good for business travel but it had no pool and is a little run down. The renovations disturbed us at 8 am and our room was worked in while we were out for day. We had no idea when we arrived that this work was going on. It isn't too good for families.” Jun 30, 2008 by
Joan from Shippensburg, PA
“The hotel has no pool and no gym. I would hope to be warned in advance of work going on at a hotel. There was no luggage rack for suitcase in room a common convenience and no fridge. It was very hard to park near entrances and light each time we returned for night. The price was ok.” Jun 8, 2008 by
Caralee from Port Coquitlam, BC CA
“Very friendly staff at front desk. They allowed early check in after an overnight flight. After sleeping in the next AM though, leaving the room around 1 pm, they never cleaned the room. The next day the same thing, and the next. So in 4 days of staying there, they never once cleaned the room or gave fresh towels or even called to ask if I needed/wanted it cleaned. Have never experienced that before. Checking out, staff was again very friendly.” Jun 6, 2008 by
Paul from Merritt Island, FL
“My experience at this hotel would have been okay had it been in the $75 to $85/night class. (2.5 star. at best.) Restaurant open sporadically. Breakfast buffet was horrible. Hotel really needs modernization. My room was clean. But carpet was old and stained. Limited Cable TV with no in-room movies. Kind of noisy air-conditioner. Most of the desk clerks were very nice. Although I had one very bad incident with just one woman, who obviously was unhappy with her job.” Jun 5, 2008 by
Florence from Concord, NC
“This is the third time I have stayed at the Radisson and except for the woman who was at the desk at checkout, the staff is great. When I checked out I told her that the showerhead was broken and it was hard for us to shower, she said nothing and looked at us. Didn't ask anything about the shower or how was your stay, not even good bye or have a nice day. I was very disappointed.” Jun 5, 2008 by
Lori from Beaumont, TX
“Very pleased with room, staff.” May 21, 2008 by
Barbara from Chittenango, NY
“The hotel staff was very accommodating. I was traveling with my mother who had a walker. They gave us a first floor room located by a handicap ramp and the entrance door. Very friendly. Safe area. Very clean and comfortable.” May 20, 2008 by
James from Bayville, NJ
“When you get into the sleep # bed all the air goes to the bottom and your feet go in the air. it is bad for your knees and you lower back. Please do not offer this hotel to me.” May 17, 2008 by
Angie from Ithaca, NY
“Front desk staff pleasant and helpful. Internet connection sporadic and slow. Room styles limited to 2 double beds or 1 king bed.” May 15, 2008 by
Margaret P. from New London, CT
“Nice place would recommend and stay there again.” May 10, 2008 by
Jean from Belleair, FL
“The hotel is not bad.” Apr 28, 2008 by
Robert from Temecula, CA
“The hotel was good except for the bed controls. I couldn't get a good nights sleep in three nights.” Apr 27, 2008 by
Rjchard from Quincy, MA
“Great for business travelers. Gave me a room immediately with a microwave. Remember me from previous stays. Room was always immaculate when I returned. Helped me with luggage when I left.” Apr 27, 2008 by
Greg from Barre, VT
“This is a comfortable and quiet hotel with a friendly staff and service. I found the bathrooms very clean. Beds were well made and comfortable. The desk was well lit and had easy access outlets, and the wireless internet was strong and fast. Exterior of the hotel was clean and attractive without being flashy. I would certainly stay there again and would recommend it to others.” Apr 17, 2008 by
Ellie from Buda, TX
“Its okay. Nothing fancy.” Apr 17, 2008 by
John from Glasgow, KY
“If you do not have a car to go out and eat it is not good, The Van Service to and from the airport was excellent. The rooms were clean and everything was in good working order. The staff was good.” Apr 11, 2008 by
Mike from Binghamton, NY
“We found the staff very helpful. We forgot to call & get a king or queen bed, yet the clerk remedied this at check in.” Apr 9, 2008 by
Ron from Gainesville, VA
“Great experience.” Apr 9, 2008 by
Rebecca from Milan, MI
“the chief engineer, Chris was very helpful when I needed my computer set up in the room; even though he is very busy he took the time to figure out why it wasn't working got it running for me and that was very much appreciated.” Apr 8, 2008 by
John from Wilton Manors, FL
“The hotel was clean but hallways smelled of smoke. The rooms are equipped with wireless internet, however it was not up and working while I was there. As a business traveler this was not good. When I ask the front desk what was going on with the internet she explained that is was not a problem of the hotels. I ask if she had any other complaints about the internet and she said everyone is complaining. What do you want me to do about it.” Apr 8, 2008 by
Doug from Daytona Beach, FL
“This room was infested with insects and hotel staff could never control the problem. I have un believable pictures of the infestation and plan to complain to the NY State Health Department.” Mar 29, 2008 by
Florence from Concord, NC
“The Radisson is an old Best Western right off the LIE. The lobby is beautiful but when you get into the rooms you are in a refurbished best western and you still see rusty sprinkler heads, The shower stalls are old and stick, There was a bottle cap under a table for 3 days as we watched each time the maid cleaned. Our sheets were not changed for 3 nights but were changed the night before we checked out. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom and no closet in the room, just a piece of furniture with a small place to hang clothes, which also held the ironing board and iron. The breakfast buffet at the Grill was no better than free continental buffets at many hotels. Would not choose the Radisson again.” Mar 25, 2008 by
Laurie from Carson City, NV
“I booked my 19 year old daughter to stay overnight at this hotel so she could catch an early morning plane (Islip Airport) without taking the train at night in and out of New York City. The train is risky at night. I actually called the hotel to explain the situation beforehand-"no problem" I was told. When she arrived at the hotel at 7pm they would not let her stay in her pre-paid room due to her age! She is a good, clean cut, responsible 19 year old college student. Instead, they just turned her away with no assistance, and she had no choice but to travel back to her school in NYC by train after dark! The hotel didn't even give her a ride back to the train station. She had to go back into NYC from Long Island to Penn Station at 10:30 at night! I had her get a security guard to walk her out to a taxi-and call me before and after by cell phone (I am in Nevada). Thank God nothing happened to her as a result (other than being scarred and inconvenienced). In addition to the risk to her personal safety, we had to pay. I had to change her airline ticket to midday the following day, and bore extra travel charges as a result of this fiasco. I also paid a night in this awful hotel for nothing.” Mar 19, 2008 by
Rocco from Ronkonkoma, NY
“Excellent Hotel, friendly staff, clean rooms with select comfort beds with lot's of pillows. Hotel has elevator. Great restaurant has exercise room, but no pool.” Mar 10, 2008 by
Bill from Avon, CT
“Overall not bad. Bathroom had some hairs that were not mine in it. HVAC unit had a bad battery and you couldn't see the numbers to adjust.” Mar 8, 2008 by
Chad from Eagle, ID
“I liked everything about the hotel. What I didn't like is that it is a airport hotel and they didn't send my wake up call that I requested. They stated that the system wasn't working properly that day. I figured that they should have manually made the calls if the system was down.” Mar 4, 2008 by
Bill from Avon, CT
“Maybe it's me. The hotel is just a bit "off". I can't explain it. Not bad, not good, just "off".” Feb 22, 2008 by
Bryan D. from Oakdale, NY
“This hotel is a favorite of mine; my lady loves to come here.” Feb 13, 2008 by
Dale from Rochester, NY
“I made this reservation for myself and four other friends. We were traveling on a tight budget and were very pleased with the Radisson Hotel, it's staff and location next to the L.I.E was wonderful. I would recommend it to anyone who needs to travel in that area. Hopefully we will get the same hotel when we come back next year.” Feb 13, 2008 by
Janette from Williamsburg, VA
“I would definitely recommend this hotel. It was clean, the staff was very attentive, and the rooms was very comfortable. Also, it is easy to access from the L.I.E. and a short ride to Macarthur Airport.” Feb 13, 2008 by
Arlene from Farmingville, NY
“The hotel was very clean the beds were super comfy and the restaurant was excellent.” Feb 13, 2008 by
Kristina from Liverpool, NY
“This hotel had a very friendly service team and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and wanted. I would definitely stay there again without a doubt.” Jan 28, 2008 by
Karen &. from Wilmington, DE
“I would recommend this hotel, but put the disclaimer to check out the bathroom before unpacking their bags.” Jan 27, 2008 by
Bill from W. Henrietta, NY
“Nice sleep number beds. Service is typical of a good hotel -nothing special. Some rooms have fridge & microwave -some large, some small. They don't offer any included breakfast and like all Long Island properties the restaurant gets a good $ for a fair meal.” Jan 23, 2008 by
Mary E. from Westborough, MA
“Great hotel with all the extra amenities needed.” Jan 22, 2008 by
Katherine from Reading, PA
“The hotel was what I expected, with the front desk staff courteous and helpful. I would not recommend the restaurant for dinner unless you stuck with the bar menu - the food was overpriced and barely edible.” Jan 19, 2008 by
Katherine from Mattituck, NY
“They offer leftover sandwiches fashioned from throwaway food from the restaurant from 11 PM-1 AM (as available). If you're traveling with kids, and you think it's great they offer Nintendo's in every room - FYI, they no longer offer Nintendo's in any room. Cable movie and PPV movie channels in every room as their website states - double nope. When we came back late at night, thinking we would get some "overstuffed sandwiches" and "fresh salads", from the "24 hour Corner Pantry", we were told (AT A SUPPOSED 3 STAR HOTEL) that perhaps we could find sandwiches at the Exxon-Mobil next door? The staff was also snaky and unapologetic about things. NEVER AGAIN!”
