“Great hotel with simply a wonderful staff that was very helpful. Overall, an incredible stay for the wife and I! We loved it!!” Nov 11, 2009 by
Laurie from Charlotte,NC
“I don't know how this hotel got 4 stars. Our room had a dead bug on the floor, hairs in the bath tub, it was dirty and needs renovation. There were wasp nests on the balcony outside so we couldn't even enjoy it. Overall the hotel needs some maintenance. Our room was not ready when we arrived and the woman at the front desk was very rude to us. We did not feel welcome as a family with children as it appeared most of the guests were older couples. That may have something to do with the time of year. We couldn't get any beach chairs without 24 hour notice due to reduction in staff for the slow season.” Aug 27, 2009 by
Glenn from Alpharetta,GA
“Very nice hotel, clean rooms, excellent service from the staff. There were more kids there than my wife and I were hoping for (we're empty nesters) but overall we had a very nice experience. Being part of the Wild Dunes resort is a plus.” Aug 27, 2009 by
Tracy from Concord,NC
“I would recommend Wild Dunes to anyone looking for a wonderful get-away! This is my husband's second time going to the resort and we really enjoyed this trip so much more than our first visit! The main reason is the Village was not there 2 years ago - and we stayed in the Boardwalk Inn - which was nice but the Studio we stayed in the Village was FANTASTIC!” Aug 26, 2009 by
Bob from Matthews,NC
“Great time, great staff and loved the convience” May 12, 2009 by
Dan from Greenville,SC
“This is a luxurious and private resort. It has three great pools and is a short walk to a wide and uncrowded beach.” Mar 26, 2009 by
Gail from Raleigh,NC
“Beautiful place if we would have been prepared to stay in a condo. We were planning on the hotel.” Jan 3, 2009 by
Bob from Rome, GA
“Awful experience overall. I asked a room for four nights on the week of New Years 2009, and I had plans to propose to my girlfriend on the ocean. Unfortunately, we did not make it past the second night because the experience was awful: no hot water in the first room - moved to another room at 1:30 in the morning where the water was out of control and burned my (now) fiance's back; toilet leaked water all over my fiance's feet and socks and pants; I used the shower and about threw up when I found out I was wiping down with a towel that had a poop stain on it; the coffee pot did not work; TV in the first room had poor reception, in second room had poor reception and the remote control did not work. Finally, we had enough and checked out early. The staff was nice enough! We ended up getting engaged in some parking lot in Charleston because that was the best I could do with the limited time I had to pull something out of my rear-end! Thanks, but no thanks! I will never visit this location again - you can take that to the bank!” Dec 31, 2008 by
Limor from Greer,SC
“This hotel is great. Very clean. The free valet parking service is excellent. Easy access to the beach, friendly staff.” Oct 14, 2008 by
Tom
“The hotel was very nice; however the restaurants either weren't open or didn't stay open late. We also found that their service was inconsistent, i.e. coffee in the lobby one morning then wouldn't put it out the next.” Aug 18, 2008 by
Sherri from Opelika
“Being on the beach in Charleston, SC is great but the Boardwalk Inn and the staff leave much to be desired. The appearance of the Inn was a little rundown. Not slow elevators, rude staff and walls that need patching/painting. Folks, do not waste your time going to this place. It would not live up to your expectations. When you check out you will find all kinds of resort fees and destination fees.” Jul 23, 2008 by
Linda from Gastonia, NC
“Great hotel. Loved the rooms, very helpful staff. A little far from the beach. Great amenities.” Jun 7, 2008 by
Rob from Greenville, SC
“Great relaxing resort, transportation provided to amenities, Free shoe shines, kids and family activities planned throughout the day to keep kids involved and happy. We will be back!” Apr 18, 2008 by
Nico from Mill Valley, CA
“Very impressed with how professional and friendly all of the staff was from front desk to valet.” Apr 10, 2008 by
Brian
“This is the Boardwalk Hotel which is set amongst a number of other living quarters in the whole Wild Dunes resort and golf course. It intends to be a period piece set amids a relaxed island town environment. The lobby and common areas are elegantly appointed enough, but I couldn't help but get the feeling that the guests who stay in the Boardwalk are among the lowest priority for the staff of the resort.” Apr 4, 2008 by
Alex from Potomac, MD
“Very good hotel, but not a very good human department.” Apr 1, 2008 by
Lance from Loveland, OH
“Great resort - lots to do with kids. Parking across entryway.” Mar 29, 2008 by
Deborah from Hendersonville, NC
“The Boardwalk Inn offers true southern charm and hospitality. The attentiveness of the staff and absolutely beautiful decor are second to none, we stay here frequently so for myself and my daughter, it is a home from home! Love it!” Mar 26, 2008 by
Gwen from Leesburg, VA
“When we first got to our condo, we were impressed! Half way through our stay our maid service didn't come for 2 days. No coffee and no towels. We called 3 times housekeeping didn't show till day 3 if it wasn't for the staff at the front office we would have been SOL. Thank goodness for the front office! Other than this incident it was an awesome stay!” Mar 18, 2008 by
Justin from Hudsonville, MI
“AMAZING! My fiancé and I loved the view over the pool and the short walk to the beach. I wish I could have arranged my trip for more than one day, so I could have experienced one of the two golf courses. No matter where we were in the hotel or property we felt like we were VIP; from Valet parking to quick and friendly service at any of the 3 restaurants on their property.” Mar 16, 2008 by
Tim from Lawrence, KS
“Everybody was so nice. We stayed there on our honeymoon after a disaster at our original hotel.” Mar 15, 2008 by
Debbie from Debary, FL
“Our stay was in one of the villas. It was very spacious. Resort amenities were a little hit and miss, but the grounds were maintained well for such a massive and spaced out resort. Dining was either counter service, bar food or 5-star. Would like to see something in the moderate range for eating. Might stay again, but would probably look elsewhere.” Mar 4, 2008 by
Judy from Pawleys Island, SC
“The maids slammed doors outside our room until 12, then a trash dumpster was right below us and the truck came to empty it at 7am on Saturday am. I would not go back.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Thomas from Anderson, SC
“The house was nice but not exactly what I expected for a romantic weekend with my wife. The security at the gate did not know where to send me to check in. All and all is was a good weekend.” Feb 13, 2008 by
Scott from Wilmington, NC
“A beautiful property with limited amenities.” Jan 30, 2008 by
Phil from Morrow, GA
“This place is brilliant. Gorgeous landscape.” Dec 29, 2007 by
Jake from Atlanta, GA
“This is one of the finest run hotels Ive had the pleasure of using. I feel like a VIP from the moment I pull up to the front entrance. And it is very much the experience of the great hotels of days gone by. They really know their stuff.” Dec 21, 2007 by
Richard from Houston, TX
“Difficult to find on initial approach staff is very helpful and knowledgeable room is very comfortable.” Dec 17, 2007 by
Eric from Lancaster, SC
“We really enjoyed our stay but there was some construction going on but the staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and the king size bed a great sleep.” Dec 13, 2007 by
Ron from Rocklin, CA
“Great location, great facility, great staff.” Dec 12, 2007 by
Jeff from San Antonio, TX
“The hotel offered us a wonderful break from the day to day. The staff was friendly, rooms were perfect, food (both in room service and restaurant), and heated pools were superb!” Nov 24, 2007 by
Roy from Harrisburg, NC
“Although our stay was during the beginning of the off season we still enjoyed an incredible wonderful time. The food and the hospitality were very good. We will stay there again. And oh, yes the price was also excellent.” Nov 19, 2007 by
Christine from Miami, FL
“This is a very nice beach hotel, located right on the beach. Its about a 15 20 minute beautiful ride from Downtown Charleston. It was very nice too not stay in Downtown as we feel we got a better feeling of Charleston by staying out on isle of palms. Two links courses, one I know were designed by Fazio (not sure if he designed the other course) valet parking and the bellman were complimentary. We stayed in a king deluxe room on the 5th floor of the hotel. The rooms are nicely furnished with large bathrooms. As we staying here in early Nov 07 at the end of their high season, we noticed that the room was a little worn (scuff marks on the wall and spots in the carpet) but low season is here now so they have time to fix these issues. If you do stay in the hotel, make sure to not stay on the left end (facing the hotel, left end) of the hotel as this end is where deliveries are made. And the trucks start delivering early and deliver late, so the humming of the diesel trucks is annoying. We were on the 5th floor second highest and could hear the trucks. Even with these small issues, I would stay here again.” Nov 15, 2007 by
Richie from Conway, SC
“I would stay here again. The price and the comfort were very nice and appealing.” Nov 5, 2007 by
Mary from Romeo, MI
“Boardwalk inn is a lovely hotel that took me away from the business of my life by landing me in the midst of coastal beauty surrounded by elegant homes and classy golf courses. My one day there was not enough time to explore the natural treasure of my surroundings. I will just have to return.” Sep 3, 2007 by
Michael from Kingsport, TN
“The rooms were great. Didn't care much for valet parking only. Unless you parked across the street and walked 100 yards. No fridge in the rooms unless you used the minibus. The pool was for boardwalk inn guests only but everyone from all condos around used this pool. Golf was good. Too bad that the links course is losing the 18th to the ocean. Par 5 soon to be a par 3. Overall the resort was nice.” Aug 22, 2007 by
Cherie “The Boardwalk Inn at the Wild Dunes Resort was one of the nicest hotels my family and I have every stayed at. Everything from the room to the service with top notch.” Aug 1, 2007 by
Regina from Wilson, NC
“Wonderful location. Beautiful facilities. With the exception of the noisy location of the room, our stay was great!” Jul 31, 2007 by
Tammy from Cartersville, GA
“I absolutely enjoyed my visit in Boardwalk Inn at Wild Dunes. Our room was exceptional. Dinning on site was awesome. The presentation was as delightful as the flavor. The staff was exceptional and very family friendly. Upscale and kids don't always go together. There were activities for everyone. I can't wait to visit again.” Jul 22, 2007 by
Jenae from Charlotte, NC
“Excellent faculty and amenities. Very comfortable rooms and easy access to pool and beach. Only complaint was that two separate employees told me that they only did valet parking, but I did not want to have to tip a valet every time, so I used valet once, and then found a parking lot across from the hotel and just parked there.” Jun 10, 2007 by
Lynn from Old Hickory, TN
“This is a beautiful resort area. We were expecting a hotel room, but got a one bedroom condo instead. We had plenty of space and a kitchen, but the condo was dated. The carpet had dark stains on the floor.” Apr 19, 2007 by
Shannon from Kirkland, WA
“I assumed I would get a break on prices just by using you as a referral vs. ” Mar 28, 2007 by
Will from Atlanta, GA
“The villa set along the isle of palms beachfront, provided all the necessities with comfortable settings and lovely decor. A great setting to open up to the screen porches to hear the crashing tides and feel the ocean breeze. A great location to lie around or travel back and forth between the beaches. If you are looking to spend time in Charleston, don't stay here. You end up feeling guilty for leaving the resort.” Mar 20, 2007 by
William from Melbourne, FL
“Clean comfortable rooms. Two excellent golf courses, friendly and helpful staff.” Feb 5, 2007 by
Elizabeth from Boydton, VA
“Met expectations and more. Would have liked to have known about construction site adjacent to our balcony. Restaurant recommendations were a homerun 3 of 4 times. This is a very impressive resort that I would recommend to family and friends.” Jan 6, 2007 by
Erick from Florence, SC
“Excellent dining, excellent decor, excellent golf, beautiful ocean views, excellent location. We will definitely return to this location. Very romantic.” Dec 13, 2006 by
Andrew from Tallahassee, FL
“Great hotel. The only bad thing was the weather was too cold and they kept the hotel too warm.” Dec 7, 2006 by
James from Kannapolis, NC
“I think this is a hidden treasure in Charleston area. It is located on isle of palms close to Charleston. Was easy to find. Hotel staff was friendly and very helpful about area. Rooms were very spacious and plush. Just sorry only had one night to spend in Charleston area. Would recommend this hotel to any one.” Nov 15, 2006 by
Tammy from Gray, TN
“The hotel was hard to get to from Charleston, but a nice location overall. The rooms were clean and spacious. What disappointed us was that there was no hot tub or Jacuzzi on site.” Nov 4, 2006 by
Mark from Portland, OR
“Even at an embassy suites or Hilton garden inn, the breakfast buffet has eggs cooked to order rather than old scrambled. The rooms were standard - nothing too special, no fridge, and valet only parking. Did I say no hot tub already? 4 plus pools but no hot tub.”
