• This hotel is in an ideal location for us as we travel I-64.
• The food on the breakfast buffet was not good this time. Much of it appeared old and dried out pastries. Also our bath tub would not hold water well.

“Overall, this hotel is a great stop when traveling through the area on I-64. It's location is easy to get to. There are restaurants and a mall within walking distance of the hotel. The staff are very friendly. Usually the breakfast bar is well stocked and good food.”

• Front desk staff was extremely courteous and helpful.
• The beds were too firm. Woke in the morning with a stiff back.

“Very convenient location right off exit. Staff was friendly and courteous. Lobby and hallways were very clean. Elevators looked as though they needed to be cleaned, papers and crumbs on floor. Room was clean but had use. Burn in carpet from hot iron. Bed was too firm for our tastes. Breakfast included with room was good quality and hot. Nice breakfast area as well. Great place for a business traveler or husband and wife to stay if they won't be spending all day in room.”

• Coffee in room, iron, gerat towels and great linens.
• Mints on pillow were licorice, I hate licorice.

“Hotel is easy to find with easy access off expressway. Lots of good lighted parking. Staff was very nice, short check-in. Lobby and hallways were clean. Room keys worked first time. Room was clear, well appointed. Great new linens that don't have bedspreads (they are always nasty in even nicer hotels). They have a great sheet set that can all be washed. Great towels, rain head shower and everything you would want in a room from shampoo to hairdryer. Wireless was easy to access.”

“Superior quality sheets and friendly staff. The biggest issue at a hotel is that the pillow doesn't match each person's preference. Cleverly, this hotel had pillows labeled "soft", "hard" etc. so you could match your likes and needs.”

• I liked the quick access to the major highways and dining.
• Slow bathtub drain, loud AC, old TV.

“This hotel is best for short stay travelers just looking for a good place to rest for a short time. A little pricey for the accommodations needs to be updated. It's not good for romantic stay or long stays. Next time I will try something the area.”

“This hotel was clean and attractive with a great breakfast. The only problem was the promise of a crib for our one year old. When we arrived, they were out of cribs, which ruined our experience.”

“Arrived around midnight desk clerk did not acknowledge me at first as he was in lengthy phone conversation with someone trying to provide them directions to hotel. Should have at least said just a moment. First room smelled like vinegar could not sleep there he came down promptly and agreed to switched us to a different room. It was OK, except for tired mattresses. He said he would have someone spray the first room do not think that is going to help.”

• Good breakfast offering.
• Cleaning lady knocking and opening the door without saying who she was, 8:00 am.

“I can not believe that the cleaning lady opened the door to our room without announcing herself at 8:00 am on Monday morning. She knocked and opened the door, caught me standing in the bathroom and woke my wife up. I told the front desk and the girl said she would tell the manager and that was it, I never heard anymore from them.”

• Everything was okay.
• At first I thought that our pop-up drain did not work but my husband informed me that had not pushed it hard enough.

“I was satisfied with our visit. The only thing was that breakfast was crowded but that is a good sign-isn't it? When ever we are in Charleston, WVA, we intend on staying at this hotel as we know what we can expect. And I would highly recommend it to anyone that is in the area and needs a place to stay--go to the Holiday Inn express community Civic Center, stay and have a wonderful breakfast the next morning. You will not be disappointed.”

• There was a extra charge that was on the bill the next morning. For $40 and some change for some reason. It was later taken off.

• Housekeeping noisy! Fire Alarm went off and woke me up early!

“This Holiday Inn Express was just like any other I've ever been in: decent. I was in a smoking room, which wasn't too bad; I got used to the smell quickly and it wasn't overpowering. I forgot that Holiday Inn Express hotels do not have pools and was disappointed when this was pointed out to me.”

• The location was convenient.
• The desk clerk lied about the beds for a problem which was not true.

“This hotel is in a convenient location in Charleston, West Virginia. If you have business at the downtown Convention Center it is ideally suited. However, desk clerks and personnel treat customers with disdain and provide poor service. This was the first time, hotel staff attempted to pull the wool over our eyes with a excuse for poor service.”

• Room stunk. I found a smelly sock under bed.

“The hotel lobby was occupied by disruptive teenagers who were told by hotel security to quieted down or else be expelled from the premises. There was a couple walking past our room who were having a loud argument. Our room absolutely stunk, I found an old smelly sock under the bed. I asked the front desk for some air freshener and was given some, but it didn't help. I was told the staff all smoked and because of this they probably didn't notice the odor in the room! We should have been given another room. I would not stay at this particular establishment again.”

“Very comfortable room and a great breakfast. The breakfast was described as a continental one but it had hot food on it. I had my mom with me and she liked the bed and breakfast also which makes the trip more pleasant if mom's happy so is everyone else!”

• Front counter staff was very friendly and helpful.
• Bed not level and squeaked. Room phone was inoperable and had to be replaced.

“Overall, it is a nice hotel for the business traveler because of it's location. It has very easy access to the interstate and near dining and shopping. Negatives included my room being beside and wrapping behind the elevators The room was not well insulated causing elevator noise to be more audible than normal. I also has a non-functioning phone in my room that had to be addressed the next day. This is an item that should be checked before every guest is handed their room's key. The bed was very squeaky and was not level therefore, sleeping was not as comfortable as expected.”

• This hotel is a great location for traveling. Easy access to the interstates and has always provided clean comfortable rooms.
• This visit my tub stopper was not working, but maintenance was sent to fix it immediately upon our checking out.
